I really don’t know where the time goes but we’ve been setting up since 7am this morning and now at 6pm we are nearly finished getting everything ready for tomorrow’s PMC Speakers Fact Signature Launch event and I have to say we have 3 brilliant sounding rooms, these new Fact Signatures are seriously good, please see an overview of each room below.
All we need now is for the weather to actually realise it is summer as we are still ploughing ahead for a BBQ tomorrow
Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019, Meeting my Motorsport Hero!
I’m sure loads of you have attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the years, I actually went to the very first one way back in 1993, it was almost like a garden party back then, and I have been going on and off ever since and have seen it grow massively over the years and it is still an incredible event to attend. Now I wasn’t going to go this year but a couple of weeks ago I read that a particular c
Firstly a huge thanks to everyone who came to our Naim and Focal Summer Party last weekend,, it really was an excellent day and great to see so many familiar and new faces, it was certainly one of our most popular open days to date and was a lot of fun but at HFL nothing stops so it is now time to start promoting our next Open day.
So anyone who knows us at HFL knows we are big supporters of PMC Speakers and we’ll basically use any chance as an excuse to have a PMC Open da
So this year Arcam celebrates 25 years at the leading edge of Home Cinema products, it all started back on 1994 with the launch of the XETA One and since then they have released many multi award winning AV Receivers, Processors and AV Amps, to be fair I have personally owned most of them, at the moment I run the AV860 at home which I can’t sing it’s praises highly enough.
So to mark this momentous occasion Arcam have decided to launch the ‘Silver Celebration Trade In Offer
The races are coming thick and fast this year as we were at Brands Hatch this past weekend for race 5 & 6 on our calendar, unbelievably we are now half way through the season, I was really looking forward to racing at Brands again as I really enjoyed it last year but the weather really had different ideas.
In all honesty I much prefer dry conditions, especially at Brands as it is a track that really rewards a little attack but for the Friday test it was prett
In perfect timing for our Naim event on the 22nd June Naim have announced a promotion which runs till mid July for existing Naim customers, basically it is an upgrade promotion on the Classic Range as well as Uniti Range where you can receive a 10% discount on the new product.
So basically if you have say a SuperUniti and would like to upgrade to a new Nova you can receive 10% off the Nova + we will give you the market value for your SuperUniti as a trade in, the same if y
This is just a quick blog to say that we have just bought on IsoAcoustics as a new brand + we have some interesting new isolation supports from Quadraspire.
As a quick overview, isolating your equipment and speakers can really help get the best from them, on speakers it can tighten up the bass which helps free up the midrange and when used on certain electronics it can really help focus the sound, the name of the game though is to try them under different components to see wher
So our next open day is approaching fast on June 22nd and the last time we has a big Naim Summer open day it was our most popular open day to date with well over 100 people coming along to enjoy some good music, the gardens and a BBQ as it really was a great summer occasion, here’s hoping the weather is kind again so we can enjoy a similar day.
For this open day we will be holding it as a joint Naim and Focal event and also for all the Petrolheads out there Bentley Cars will be
Cadwell Park Race Weekend Report!
This is just a quick one as I wanted to share my quickest lap from last weekend as I feel that I probably did my best lap yet in our Radical SR1, it is a slow process getting on top of these cars but everytime we go out we get a little bit faster which I guess is all I can ask for.
My problem is that I love chasing lap time and here I can find reasonable speed now but I go slower in the races for some reason, not ideal I know s
I just thought I would do a quick blog to say that I have a traded in pair of the Wilson Audio Sabrina Speakers, these really are one of my favourite speakers.
These are a customer trade in who has upgraded to Wilson Sasha DAW’s, they are in black, as new condition and boxed with all the accessories.
New Price - £18,998
Our Price - £13,998
If you’d like a listen anytime please feel free to get in touch.
Some more Munich news, this is quite a big one as I use Fact.12′s at home at the moment so the news of a new and improved Signature version is great news.
The Signature applies to both the Fact.8 and Fact.12, both have been extremely popular speakers over the years so the fact they have been given a re-fresh can only be good news.
From what I can gather PMC learnt so much from developing the epic Fenestria, especially the crossover, that they have now passed that down
The Munich news is coming thick and fast with Chord Electronics announcing 3 new products.
Huei Phono Stage
So Chord over the last few years really have been known as the kings of digital but they have always made brilliant Preamps, Power amps and sources etc but I have to say with the Huei they have perhaps designed the coolest looking Phono Stage around and I can see this being as big a success as their Qutest Dac, with which it shares a similar form factor,
It is a big few days coming up with the Munich Highend Show over the next 4 days so expect plenty of big announcements.
Naim are first to kick of the new releases by announcing the new Muso 2 or Muso 2nd Generation as they like to call it, have to say I didn’t see this coming but it has been 5 years since the original Muso was launched to great success so I guess after this time span then an upgrade makes sense.
Basically it does look quite similar to the original Mus
I’ve been thinking about bringing on a record cleaning machine for years so I’m really pleased at last to be able to offer the Okki Nokki range of Record cleaners and accessories at HFL.
There are many different price points when it comes to record cleaning machines but the Okki Nokki is definitely considered one of the best and at £435 it really isn’t going to break the bank and if like me you love your vinyl then you really should consider a record cleaning machine as the dif
Just thought I would share a recent review in HiFi+ for the excellent combination of the Chord Electronics Hugo TT 2 + M Scaler, this really is proving an extremely popular combo, we have both on permanent demo so please feel free to come in to demo anytime.
If it is not very clear below just e-mail me and I’ll mail over the PDF.
2 of our most popular products have recently had a makeover so I am pleased to say that both came in last week and are now on permanent Demo.
I’m a big fan of the original Spendor D7 so now that they have had a makeover to .2 spec I am sure they will be equally as popular if not more so.
So what has changed? Basically there are subtle visual changes with fully magnetic grilles and a slimmer plinth but more importantly there sonic improvements that come f
Being a bit of a Bruce fan it is always big news when he releases a new single, it has been 5 years since we last had new material from Bruce and his new single ‘Hello Sunshine’ really doesn’t disappoint.
In all honesty when Bruce announces he is doing a solo album I’m always a little disappointed as I just love Bruce with the E-Street band, especially live, seen them around 85 times since 1985, but funnily enough I probably listen to Nebraska, Tunnel of Love and Ghost of Tom J
So after a busy day setting everything up yesterday we are ready for today’s open day with dCS and Constellation Audio so as the weather is definitely HiFi listening weather today please feel free to join us.
Our main system is the new dCS Bartok which will be run alongside a full 4 box Vivaldi system with the Wilson Audio DAW Speakers powered our newest brand, Constellation Audio all hooked up with Transparent cables, to get the best experience we are limiting the listeni
Time for another Open Day, this time 2 of the big guns together, dCS and our newest addition to our portfolio, Constellation Audio.
Hear the dCS Vivaldi Stack + much more!
In all honesty this was going to be a standalone dCS day with a Constellation launch day to follow but as so many people came our Wilson Audio day recently it seemed a shame to use the same electronics when we had something new in the wings so we thought this would be a good idea to give a re
Firstly, a massive thanks to everyone who came to our Wilson Audio Open Day on Saturday, most definitely one of our busiest open days, thankfully we opened the gates into the barn area to use for an overspill car park, needless to say that the Sasha DAW room was the star of the day
Anyway, onto PrimaLuna
So this is pretty big news as PrimaLuna are one of our most popular brands, we really do sell a lot of their amplifiers so it is fantastic news that they have just l
Just doing a final sound check ahead of our Wilson Audio Open Day tomorrow, been a busy day setting up but everything really is sounding great, certainly looking like it is going to be a busy day with people coming from all over the country and with more people registering for this open day than any before so Wendy has been busy turning 10 loaves of bread into sandwiches, it has been like a military operation in the kitchen
Really looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, i
So I certainly love a gadget and have to say this is pretty cool, matching one of the oldest HiFi brands in the world with cutting edge Alexa Voice control, basically partnering an Amazon Echo Dot with the new McIntosh RS200 Wireless speaker allowing you to control it via speech, this really does feel like we are finally getting to what was portrayed in Back to the Future all those years ago
It is all run totally wireless other than the mains of course but it was pretty s
So this is something I didn’t think I’d ever see from Stax, a battery powered portable energiser with a DAC built in, think of it like a Mojo for Stax Earspeakers, brilliant idea, all we need now are a closed back pair of SR-009′s and I’ll be sorted when travelling
Anyway we now have the SRM-D10 on permanent demo if you’d like to come and try it anytime with the Stax Earspeakers of your choosing.
