Advertised as a recent Sunday driver

I'm 48 years old and I've had great automobile luck my entire life. I purchased a 1982 Datsun (Nissan) 280 ZX turbo when I was 19. It still runs like a new car. I have a Porsche, Chrysler Prowler, and a Chevrolet SSR.

So today, while browsing ebay, I came across a 1977 Lotus Elcat. The asking price was $4,000. Luckily, the seller lived 75 miles from my home near Atlanta, so I jumped in the 280ZX for a drive to see the car.

Hmmmm, so where shall I start...let's just say it was not as advertised. However, my love for cars got the best of me so I purchased it for half what the owner desired.

Now I'm left with two questions:

1. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? and 2. Have my great automobile luck finally came to its end?

no, your lucks not come to an end, because you have stumbled across a super rare car with wonderful handling...

I'd presume that Atlanta isn't all that wet? (I know nothing about the US climate) so hopefully the chassis is probably ok.

Do a quick search on eclat sprint through the forum archive, there is some good info in there.

lastly - please sent an email to [email protected] and I will send you a sheet for you to return if you want your cars details to go on the list of survivors and to be added to our mailings.
