  4. Hi Paul. Real sorry in taking so long to get back to you, I've been stuck overseas due to Covid. In answer to your question (if you havent already managed) yes we can have someone give you a run out in an Elise as we have a few members in and around Aberdeenshire. For a quicker response, contact me directly on the following. As I did not get a notification regarding this message. [email protected] Cheers. John.
  5. Hi All. I’m looking to buy an S1 Elise but the car is located in the South of England, and I’ve never so much as sat in an Elise before. There’s only so many reviews and videos you can watch (I think I have completed YouTube). I’m wondering if there is a friendly Elise owner in the Aberdeen area who would let me sit in their car? I’m 6’4” so just want to be sure before paying a deposit. Ideally this weekend 29th/30th August.
  6. GLAMIS 11-12 JULY Coronavirus/Covid 19 - 15th April 2020 The rate of spread of the Covid 19 virus continues unabated and Government lockdown measures and restrictions on movement and gatherings are being held in place for an indefinite period. Given these restrictions the Trustees of the Club regret to announce that the Scottish Transport Extravaganza due to be held in the grounds of Glamis Castle on the 11/12 July 2020 has been cancelled. This is done in compliance with Government guidelines and in the interest of safety to participants and the general public. The timescale for resumption of Club activities in a normal manner is uncertain at this challenging time, however, the SVVC will endeavor to provide regular updates on the position and will be focusing on the advice issued by the Government and continue to be guided by that. In compliance with the general lock-down order the premises at Bridge View House will remain closed until further notice. With this in mind if you have entered and paid for an entry this year whether it be Vehicular, Stand or Car Club we will be offering the option of carrying your entry forward to the 2021 event which will take place on 10th and 11th July. If this is not an option for you then a refund can be issued. The administrator will be contacting all entrants in due course. Please keep an eye on our website, follow Facebook (@svvc.glamis) this page or email Lesley on [email protected] if you have any questions. Allan Burt Chairman

  25. Started in 1998, by the Scottish Rootes Enthusiasts, the Moffat car rally has grown to become one of the biggest 2 day classic car events in Scotland. Set in the beautiful Moffat hills, the rally is an incredible place to both exhibit your cherished classic or vintage motor car and is a wonderful visitor experience. The rally accommodates 900 entries some of which come hundreds of miles to participate. This 2 day event has a drive through the Moffat hills on the Saturday which is a glorious sight and Sunday is the main gathering in the Moffat showground, with a large display of classic cars, auto-jumble/trade stands and childrens entertainment. The Rally continues to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support and other cancer charities. Many of our families, friends and fellow classic car enthusiasts are touched in one way or another by cancer and this helps our major fundraising efforts for this great event. Classic car fans and many of the entrants will be travelling from Europe, some down from the Shetland Isles, many from Northern Ireland, Wales as well as Kent, Cornwall and Dorset to take part in this amazing 2 day event. The fun kicks off with a road run (which 300 cars can participate in) to St. Mary's Loch, with the first cars leaving the town centre at midday in 15 minute intervals in groups of 60. There will be a picnic stop at the Loch and the route will also take in Megget and Talla reservoirs. Motor bikes are a welcome part of the Moffat Classic Car Rally. The Car Rally has been a fabulous connection with the town of Moffat. It appeals to enthusiasts, the businesses in the town and to the public that visit.
