  1. What's new in this club
  2. Hi folk’s, it’s that time again to organise our feeding ritual for Glamis. Last year we pre booked our meal for those staying at the hotel on the Saturday night and all those who were there agreed it worked out far better with little to no waiting time. So this year we have decided to do the same again. To help out we need to confirm the following names and numbers ASAP. How many booked for Premier Inn Dundee West. How many will be joining us for dinner at the above. Meals will be booked in your own name as per last year but under the Club Lotus N.E. Scotland table. How many not staying at above but would like to join our motley crew for the Saturday night meal. We urgently require the numbers for the table so we can book it in advance. Space is limited. We are looking to book the table for 7 pm to eat at 7.30. Is that OK with everybody? It worked well last year. For the Meal, See link to available menu. Make your choice and let us know by the 1st July www.beefeater.co.uk/steak-restaurant-menu/Dundee/Gourdie-Croft-West-Gourdie.html Read more: http://clublotusnescotland.freeforums.net/thread/460/gamis-outing-saturday-night-meal#ixzz5HXsDynyf
  3. Hope you don't mind me posting this on behalf of William Bird at The Fennel Restaurant. Due to the early start of this event, it is probably more suited to your members in NE Scotland than than the guys in the Central Belt. Some of you will remember that after breakfast at the Fennel Restaurant a few years ago we visited the family home to view the collection of AC cars there and many of you that attended will have met June. You are invited to join us for a very special gathering of Classic, Sports, Supercars & Motorbikes on Sunday the 10th of June at 8 for 8:30am in memory of a truly remarkable woman. June Rose Bird passed away in January just over two years after being diagnosed with vascular dementia. In her honour and in support of her chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Research, we are hosting this Cars & Coffee fundraiser and hope that as many of you as possible will come out in support and make donations either on the day or on line at: https://www.justgiving.com/DriveforJune June was never happier than when she was out for a run in one of the old cars which through my fathers passion for ACs was a regular occurrence. Not content to be a passenger she was a member of the institute of advanced motorists and held several trophies for classic motor racing including a 1st at Brands Hatch running the Le Mans Ace. Having attended motoring events and races all over the world she met, made friends with and was by all accounts held in high regard by, some of the greatest names in motorsport from Jack Sears to Stirling Moss. All her life, despite suffering from severe arthritis first diagnosed at age 13, June supported every cause and every soul she could, from helping to set up GRAIN (Gordon Rural Action and Information Network) spending hours and hours fighting for the rights of others to doing meals on wheels, providing respite care to families - the list is almost as endless as she was tireless in her fight especially for the underdog. It is in honour of this, her legacy, that we aim to raise the relatively humble amount of £2000 through this event for Alzheimer’s Research to aid the fight against this cruellest of diseases. We therefore ask that you come willing to donate what you can to the charity workers who will be on hand on the day for the collection. We hope that you can join us, if you cannot then please do what you can, either by donating on line or even by just sharing this post with friends or motoring groups that may be interested... that link again: https://www.justgiving.com/DriveforJune And on the day itself, go out wherever you are and ‘turn the wheel’ as June would have done, sparing a thought for her, for all the others lost not only to dementia but whose lives have been cut short in so many cruel ways. Hope to see you on the 10th around 8am Many thanks in advance, Bill. Drive for June - details: Please note various groups including the Drivers Collective and Guzzler Fizz are organising a preamble at Stonehaven Harbour for 6am 😊 8:00 am - arrivals start 8:30 am - everyone arrived & parked With a high turnout expected the car parks all the way up to the free area past M&S will almost certainly need to be used - (partly why we’ve said such an early time and a clear departure by 10am) so as not to inconvenience normal shoppers etc. We would also ask that everyone please respect disabled parking bays which may be required at any time... 💷 Charity volunteers will be shaking buckets... Breakfast is available in the restaurant from 8:30 but by BOOKING ONLY (01467 670065) Bacon rolls & coffee will be available outside from the grills under gazebos as a quick alternative to the restaurant. Caber Coffee will be on site (outside) for coffee & tea ☕️ 10 am - everyone heads off in your own groups to hopefully enjoy a run (several of June’s favourites listed below) or home to get on with your day Hopefully by this time we will have successfully raised over £2000 for Alzheimer’s Research, seen some lovely machinery & had a brilliant morning with an incredible turnout. But what if it rains? As my mother always said: “Well then my dear, we get wet.” 🤞💜🌹

  16. Hi Gent's, and Ladies. Well it's that time of year again for all the festive greetings etc. But first off I would like to thank all those who managed to attend the various events this year, it was good seeing all the Lotus out and about, even more so with the amount of first time out cars. Our club seems to be ever expanding with 90 now and over 100 cars. Wouldn't it be great to get them ALL out at one time. Maybe plan for Glamis. 2018 will be our club's 10th anniversary and we are trying to organise something a bit different with a few rare cars on show. I have been in contact with a nice Lotus 11 owner and hopefully he will manage to come along. MMC of Edinburgh have already committed to the event so a huge thanks to Ian and Brandon for their continued commitment and support. I'm sure you would like to join me in thanks to Wendy for keeping things going, making plan's and bookings on our behalf, believe me, it's no easy task and takes months of organising starting from January. A special thanks to all those new members who came along this year, many have taken their car's out for the first time in years and a fair few have just completed long term restorations, so well done guy'sSo a Merry Christmas to you all and we hope you have a happy and Healthy 2018 Read more: http://clublotusnescotland.freeforums.net/thread/414/merry-christmas-happy-new-year#ixzz512ctCqvT
