  5. Hi, the available places on SELOC have all been taken but there are spare places here. I'm therefore doing some juggle of the spares, so total spaces on here are now 14. I'm also opening this up to passengers. # Forum name Car model and registration Passenger? Mobile number sent - TomE Lotus Sport 110 bike No Yes 1. Bazza 907 Elan or Essex No Yes 2. 9. It's time to see if we can re-start our monthly meeting. Things need to be a bit different to keep everyone safe and to comply with COVID guidelines. I need to limit the numbers to 30 people and have split this 15 for SELOC and 15 for The Lotus Forums. To maximise the opportunity for cars, attendance is limited to one person per car. If take up is low I will open up spaces for passengers. As an "organised event" I need to ask everyone to register in advance and provide contact details - please PM me your mobile number after registering. If someone attending is later diagnosed with COVID then your contact details will be passed to the Track & Trace service. By registering you are agreeing for your details to be recorded and passed on. Information will be deleted after 4 weeks. As of today the cafe is open daily, there are no parking charges and the toilets are closed (so there is no means of hand washing - bring hand sanitiser). This could change before Sunday. If you have had even the mildest hint of symptoms in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone in the last 14 days who has subsequently been diagnosed - then please do not attend the event. While attending, please abide by government guidelines on social distancing and whatever the latest is on face masks. Please do not touch other people's cars! The car park has been very busy on sunny weekends, so we may not be able to park together and there is no easy way to space cars 2m apart. As Newlands Corner is a public car park I can't stop people attending who haven't registered. Please bear in mind the police often patrol the car park and unregistered participants taking us over 30 attendees may result in the whole group being asked to leave and/or me being fined. We have been meeting every month for 10 years at Newlands Corner, so please don't jeopardise this. So, with all that in mind I look forward to seeing you on Sunday for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around. This is a meeting only, with no organised runs in or out, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view. Join from 09.00 when the cafe opens for bacon rolls. We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30. Location map for Newlands Corner here Please copy and add details: # Forum name Car model and registration Mobile number sent - TomE Lotus Sport 110 bike Yes 1. 2. . . 15. Reserves:
  10. You can still go but be warned it's pretty horrible. Very crowded at the weekends, queues to get in to the car park, cars parked on verges and blocking other people in, litter left around and bins overflowing. https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/cans-lager-wine-barbecue-left-18287268
  11. Our usual third Sunday breakfast meeting isn't taking place this Sunday due to COVID19 restrictions. Whilst it's OK to go there individually for exercise and recreation, it's not appropriate to hold an organised event at the moment. Stay safe!
  12. Our usual third Sunday breakfast meeting isn't taking place this Sunday due to COVID19 restrictions. The car park at Newlands Corner has recently re-opened but the cafe remains closed for the time being. Whilst it's OK to go there individually for exercise and recreation, it's not appropriate to hold an organised event at the moment. Stay safe!
  13. Sorry, it probably breaks all the rules, there is someone in the picture (but i made sure you can't see me) and I've missed the time slot too. Feel free to give me a telling off.
  14. Hi Tom, Looking at the rules for posting. Is it OK if there are people in the car in the chosen photo? cheers -Chris
  15. Hi, just made it to the meet, in isolation at Happisburgh lighthouse a few years back
  16. Our usual third Sunday breakfast meeting isn't taking place this Sunday due to COVID19 lockdown. Instead we're running a virtual gathering - no, not yet another Zoom/Houseparty/Webex video call! On Sunday between 9.00am and 10.00am UK time please post a picture of your car in the thread. A couple of ground rules: - a Lotus car, either owned by you now or in the past - no other cars or people in the picture, just your car in isolation Pictures can be recent or old, just something to show off your car, remember past adventures and look forward to when we can meet again. Stay safe!
  17. Update: in light of the COVID-19 situation, I wanted to let everyone know that we will still be going ahead with Sunday's meet. If for whatever reason you don't want to come that's fine and we look forward to seeing you another time. If people don't want to shake hands this month that's OK. The cafe will be open and following good hygiene practices, but you don't have to buy from them. The toilets behind the cafe have plenty of hot water and soap to wash you hands - I can't vouch for their toilet roll supplies There is just one key request: if you have had even the mildest hint of symptoms in the last 7 days or have returned from a high risk area (per FCO website) in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone in the last 14 days who has subsequently been diagnosed - then please do not attend the event. This is not just to reduce the risk to fellow Lotus enthusiasts, but also to any high risk members of their families and friends or members of the public enjoying the fresh air at Newlands Corner.
  18. Time for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around. This is our regular third Sunday of the month event, a chance to gather with like-minded enthusiasts and a cross section of Lotus models from The Lotus Forums, SELOC, Lotus Drivers Club and Club Lotus. An informal gathering with no particular runs in or out organised, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view. Join from 9.00 when the café opens for bacon rolls. We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30. Location map for Newlands Corner here Note that there is a charge for parking. First 20 mins are free (but you still need to get a ticket) then £1.30 an hour. Payment by credit/debit card or mobile phone (extra fees apply) but not cash. To get the free 20 mins press the green button on the ticket machine before entering any payment.
  19. For those interested, the cake was made by Dawn at Dorking Cake Cupboard. Dawn also made the 5th anniversary cake, the giant bacon roll. Her other bespoke cakes are amazing too. Today's cake was made entirely of edible components. The base is Lotus green icing, the logos are edible inks printed onto sheet icing, the lettering is made of individual iced letters. The Evija has been made based on photos of the launch car. Dawn and I considered three different concepts before going ahead with this and she's done a superb job turning the idea into reality. Attention to detail included the black and silver nose badge. The other ideas are saved ready for the 15 and 20 year anniversaries!
  20. What a wet day! I didn’t get a chance to say ‘hi’ to most of you today, but I thought the effort gone to for the cake was fantastic and worth recognition. Well done to those involved.
  21. Bit of a miserable day but the cake made it all worthwhile. Absolutely wonderful recreation. Thanks Tom and hope everyone got home safely.
