  1. As I cannot use my garage for a car (as it is an office now - because it was too narrow). I have just taken delivery of a folding garage from Cover Systems. I'm intending to construct it today and will give you a review once it is being used. Whilst not cheap - they tick many of the boxes for me: doesn't touch the paintwork keeps the elements off good airflow easy to access

  2. Thanks for the amazon tip and the part number, it worked for me. $125 and two day shipping with Prime and the Esprit is back to normal. Mine got the dreaded flashing abs light, pump ran every other brake application and fizzy brake fluid in the aft chamber after depressurizing. New accumulator went right on, came with the oring and only had to bleed the master cylinder a bit, pumped the accumulator up and down a few times and she's good as new. A quick test drive after the snow melted here in the south Puget Sound and klaar is Kees!

  3. Car arrived today. Roads were filthy so straight in the garage until next week. No time today to take any decent pics but here are a couple to be getting on with. Lovely thing though. Can't wait to take it out for a proper drive. The seats are great, they're as comfortable as they look! I've wanted one of these since I was 12, next time I see it will be Christmas day.

  5. I was walking down the street in Norwich with my son Aaron and there were 2 girls talking "Like" that (correct use of the word). We were cracking up after about the 10th "like" as she told her friend about a conversation with a girl she didn't "like" (also a correct use of the word). "So I, like, told her that she was like a bitch!" "And she was all, like, oh no you didn't and I told her, like, f**k off bitch" That's the exact conversation and how it continued.......like.

  6. Chassis numbers on the trim panels??? My eclat didn't even have a chassis number on the chassis! Even the 1986 excel I broke to upgrade my car had a chassis that was a 1990 replacement. A few of the pieces of trim on my car have peoples initials on, but that's about it. I'm modifying my car extensively to the extent that someone at the forum christmas dinner said "Chapman would be rolling in his grave" so I can't comment on modding the car, like everybody else, i'd be sad to see none of the original examples left, but want my own car to be as functional as possible. An example is points igntion vs electronic - I saw a guy at a car show in Camberley a while back, he had an aston db4 or db5, he said it is going up by about 30k per year, and is worth approx £250k at the moment. So if a car has a reason to stay original this is the car! He had fitted electronic ignition, but a sort that is not easy to spot, it looks original in the engine bay, the electronic parts are hidden under the battery. He said he did it because it makes the car start run better If someone came up to me and expected me to be interested in whether my car has points or lumenition or a modern electronic system, and be bothered about whether it was original they would be dissapointed. But the answer is, it was lumenition, it is now ECU controlled fuel injection with lots of sensors, and 4 extra cylinders, 16 extra valves, and much better starting and fuel consumption. Not original. So I say do as you see fit as it's your car to make whatever changes you think are best. The resale value will be higher if left original, but it dependes whether you are buying it as an investment or a car to use. Cheers, Mat.

  8. Had a GPZ900R for years as my only transport until it was stolen, had a GSXR 600 for a short while too. Not considered a biker any more I guess. Lotus is the only thing I like/can afford that is close but being a biker these days takes a serious commitment that just isn't plausible for me and what I need my vehicle to do at this stage in my life.
