  1. Just come back from Birmingham work trip. When it's cold there's not much difference in sound (I never blip above 2000 rpm until the temp gauge is half way) but when she's hot the noise is wonderful, it's a different car. Downshifting into 4th from a cruise speed has become very addictive :-D Just do it!

  3. Having found some enthusiasm this weekend, I've put the alternator etc back on from last years's water pump replacement. I couldn't do it at the time as the engine mounts had shifted meaning the ali water pipe was touching the bulkhead trim, so had to wait for it to return to normal. It has got me thinking, the car originally came off the road for the clutch, it had started slipping 6k after a PUK +25% one. Has anybody fitted an off-the-shelf twin plate system to an Se/ GT3/ S4 / S4S etc engine and gearbox? We keep sourcing "better" / "high torque" clutches of differing compounds, clamping

  16. Hi Albert, I can give you a good answer on that: Cibie "Airport" 35 fog lamps with yellow lenses and chrome bodies. Here are two photos of 134H from when I first picked it up, exactly how it came out from its storage, before it was even dusted off or wiped down with a cloth: This car had 4008 original miles and had sat in storage for the better part of 29 years when I acquired it from the original owner. This is exactly as he bought the car new from the dealer -- the invoce even had the fog lamps added on there as an extra, IIRC. They have the chrome housings with wh

  17. Jason, we saw you on the A811 (about 1:30ish) when we were heading back towards Stirling. You must have been on your way to Duck Bay. We were caught up in some traffic so didn't see you until quite late, but managed to gave you a passing wave. Hope you're feeling better.

  19. Well, my fellow orange Evora owner, I was at a car show this morning and while my son was sitting unnoticed in the passenger seat, some BMW snobs walked by looking at my Evora S and my friend Clayton's Evora S (parked side-by-side), and said, "Meh...they're not very good," to which my son yelled out, "Yes they are!", thus scaring the hell out of them. Anyway, my son told me about it. Turns out they had an M3...which we blew by on the way out on the parkway. Revenge is a dish best served with a supercharger.

  22. Data looked fine. The only other thing I can think of is that the throttle cable is too tight once the engine gets hot, since it grows. I actually worked on an 89 that would idle fine until the engine got warm and then the engine would soar anytime you pushed in the clutch. Turned out the throttle cable was slack when cold but too tight when warm. So I re-adjusted the throttle cable stop while the engine was hot (and not running) so that I still got 0-100% in Freescan. Then after that the hot idle was fine.

  23. Yay I finally got the engine out today it only took 3 months!!! I thought I would degrease and pressure wash the engine and chassis tubes and general stuff in the engine bay. Is it ok to do this or better left alone. I was most concerned about the drive shafts really and thought I would seek advice here. Thanks in advance.
