  2. That's what I get for using it so much! I think the car hasn't been used much and with me doing all this running round, in and out of the car, the left hand portion of the handle seems to be either snapped or hinge broken. I can just about get in by holding the handle with my thumb on the upper part and 'rotating' the handle open. I'll have to have a look at it the weekend. It's a pain being body coloured as ordering new parts will mean getting it painted first and waiting for it to dry. Then there's the colour matching problem as mine's Metallic White. The joys hey...

  4. Hi everyone, A great big thanks to Dave who has done an outstanding job bringing the car to where it is now. So much so only took about an hour to get the engine running after 4 years!A slight water pump leak easily fixed and it runs perfectly! I'm totally new to Lotus but always wanted an s1, thanks Dave for making it happen. I've got millions of questions for you guys- any help much appreciated. Already half rebuilt Veglia Guages. Took them apart and tested with multimeter. Battery guage appears to be a bi- metallic strip heated by a coil. Slight corrosion but works with about 12v. Some

  9. Indeed... still exciting seeing those now. It was a risky strategy but what a team.... and who knows, if DRB hadn't stepped in purchased Proton Dany might just have pulled it all together. We'll never know.... however the past couple of years of almost total silence from Hethel is even more depressing seeing what could've been.

  10. Depends how lucky you feel - and if you have a series 1 or series 2? On the series 2, if you remove the under dash trim, you can see the fan covers each side. They are held on by 2 phillips screws and 2 clips each. these can be removed (with some difficulty) and this will give you access to the fan blades. turning them will normally free them up, but they may then screech from lack of lubrication - probably the reason they seized in the first place. If your still lucky, it will be the lower motor bearing that is dry, if you have a long thin flexible spouted oil can, you can get the nozzle betw

  11. Grammar is important. Capital letters are the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"

  12. Absolutely. Timing would have been perfect for my dotage when my knees and back would have given up the ghost and I couldn't drop into the Esprit anymore.... This and the 4-door Eterne would be using the new Esprit engine and running gear and sharing many other components. To be frank I don't think there was much wrong with the model family 'vision' - it was just too much of a stretch for the Lotus brand at that time/this time and probably needed a lot more money. Tell you what, revisiting all these videos from 2010 reminds me just how good that team were in producing outstanding marke

  14. I've taken the liberty of penning the following response for you to send verbatim. No need to thank me, all part of the service I like to provide Hi Mike I would be grateful if you would speak to the gent and could get me an explanation on exactly what this fuel shut off switch is, where it goes, what it does and how it will prevent further fuel pump run on's in the future. Also while your at it, an explanation on what fuel pump run on actually is would be great too. It would be good to know this information incase I have problems in the future and can look for the said part myself.

  15. Hi all, I've done my first little mod on my Evora this morning and raised the front of the seat base up to help support the back of my thighs and also feel like I am sitting in the seat rather than on.
