  1. Well, for me it was a choice between an Evora S SR or a mobility scooter. So I thought F#*k it, I'll get the Evora!

  2. While I've been asked to not share the exact number, I can say that the 3-Eleven is definitely a sales success so far!

  3. Stopped for some vpower on the way to aberdeen airport last night the quite manly lady cashie was staring at the car in awe when i walked in to pay followed by i like your car man! What is it? ive never seen one in 1 1/2 years working here! How fast have you had it?! Even just driving through aberdeen where you see some "high end" cars people stand and stare, point n thumbs up at the evora. Great feeling that the evora has such posative feedback from people.

  5. Bimbling over to see chums in Chobham, found an orange thingy stationary at a roundabout. A Mclaren!! They road test around here.....chap standing by it with a mobile phone to his ear. "Can't have broken down?? Surely??!" I cried.... He shrugged and looked a trifle dispirited. A change from all the usual jibes.... the Esprit and I went on our merry way....

  8. first step on the way back to the drachma Not long now and Greece will be the tourist destination of choice. It's gonna be much cheaper and a superb destination. I applaud them - get out and get on with it. The folks on the street are like the employees of a failed company. It's the management that have largely let them down....but yes they've had it too good also. Now however it's correction time. They need to get back onto their feet and allow the country to get back to work. It's the start of the end for the euro. You can't have equal prices, living standards, the same currency etc a

  9. You may be aware that tonight we will have an extra second tacked onto our calendar in an attempt to synchronise the Earth's rotation with our own interpretation of time. The BBC give a rather dull explanation. However, a much more entertaining way of spending your extra second of existence can be found at http://spendyourleapsecondhere.com/

  10. Have they ever sold anything?????????????They seem to be a rip off,I priced some parts and they were cheaper new.Where do they get there idea of what the parts cost.

  11. Thanks guys. It obviously gets hotter than my other cars in there. My man maths still can't equate the price plus the weight for something I'll use so rarely but the consensus is 100% yes so that's that. I'm not being cheap, the money saved would only go into the car eventually anyway. And I'm really not at all fussed about residuals, never am. Maybe I should be smarter with my money! But yeah, I'll be ordering it with aircon.

  12. I wouldn't dream of not having aircon in mine. A must for me. Mine stays on for track as well, I find the effect of driver comfort/endurance on track performance outweighs any bhp penalty from having it on!

  13. Enjoy: RULES OF THE AIR (from Australian Air Force magazine): Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, then they get bigger again. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous. It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there, than up there wishing you were down here. The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the pla

  14. my reaction to my own Evora.......'OMG.....phwoar' before I go on..I'll explain....... I let my Mrs drive it the other day.......we were out on a classic car run and had spent all day in the '67 Elan a load of the Lotus owners who attended the run knew I had the Evora and asked where it was and why Id not come in that.... anyway as the finish of the event was only 5mins from my house I thought we could collect the Evora and bring that down too for them to see.....so on the way back we stopped off and picked up the Evora.......I was in the Elan and the wife in the Evora.... I was in fro

  15. That's an image I find a bit unsettling after your recent Facebook profile pic! Definitely arm wrestle you for it though, providing we agreed to talk about the game on Saturday immediately afterwards (Planes, Trains and Automobiles ref)! I'm hoping there might still be a few 311s available when the new V6 Cup is announced. I'll make my final decision then. But the Exige Cup format does work really well for driving to and from track days. I also did a 3000 miles Euro trip in my current Cup so it can do that too. I tried trailering and found 60mph just too tedious. I then tried trailer

  16. If the population had paid their taxes and not borrowed loads of money and not paid it back again, things might be different. All this talk about overlooking their debt......nobody ever overlooked mine; I have paid off every penny I ever borrowed...and so should they. I'd be prepared to allow a much extended time scale for repayment...many decades, if necessary....like the funds that the UK government borrowed to finance the First World War. This has only just been finally repaid. If we can do it; so should they. The very idea of a "one size fits all" currency and fiscal planning was alway

  18. Breeze, After hearing JMG at the FOS I reckon there's a lot more to come with the Evora and using it as the platform for other models. Evora now starts at 400bhp... Is that a bad thing given most performance cars above £70k have serious bhp... I hear what your saying and agree customers should have a choice but it looks like Lotus has finally decided to take its being "faster and lighter" DNA seriously. Entry level Evora with 400bhp now means business! It's a good thing IMO. Totally agree with Nedasay above.

  19. To me, at least, China is politics to the extreme. China is WHO knows WHO and what can they do for each other. So is a chinese diesel Lotus, which ultimately would support a regime I cannot support muself, if possible. China politics have very very Little to do with their population in general. It's two different things. That is exactly a major point. My ex-girlfriend was from Shanghai, and she was and is very afraid of going back to china even on vacation to visit her Family, because she left/fled, when china was even more closed than today, and her leaving was seen by the chinese leadersh
