  2. Well, Scarlett has been with Craig Moncrieff since Monday. 6 year service, spark plugs, cabin filter, you know, the usual stuff. But damn, she's also been shopping and bought herself a whole new set of sexy pipes from Victoria's Secret or some other "sexy" place! Damn. I'm in lust again, big stirring, raring lust! Just like the first time I drove her. Totally smitten. Head over heals in lurve! Thanks to Jim at 2bular, who supplied a wonderful set of headers and a sport cat. Beautiful piece of work. Craig and his team have done a great job fitting them, and mating them up to my Lotus Sports Titanium tipped exhaust. O.M.G. - totally transformed the car. The noise, O.M.G. what a noise. Bloody fantastic. Driving home through a town people 200 metres up the road were turning to look, kids were jumping and pointing.... Bloody fantastic. Also, I swear the car just feels better - she breathes better for definite, she seems to accelerate faster, just seems more responsive. Maybe it's a placebo effect. But she just feels superb, sounds superb. I'm totally back smitted.

  5. After a few cosmetic jobs, new decals, new waist band door trim, door card repaired, leather on door handles refitted, leather balmed and a damn good detail and sound deadening refitted, got a little bit of attention today, person pulled into the petrol station not for fuel just to talk to me about the car, someone trying to have a conversation with me whil driving on the m40 and another chat at the traffic lights

  6. My favorite parking spot for the West End, Lincolns Inn Fields. Free after 6:30 PM. The car was acting a bit funny though in the heat when stuck in traffic, would start to run really rough and once it conked out completely.

  10. Afternoon All, new owner saying hello to the Exige V6 forum. Started out looking for an Evora S to replace my recently departed Chimaera 500. Lovely, lovely cars but made the mistake of driving a 400 and realised one of them was probably the only Evora that could replace the sense of occasion and drama the TVR gave. Unfortunately the 400's are out of budget whilst their depreciation is still significant. Tried an Exige V6 Coupe and felt at home immediately, read on here that you can easily make a convertible out of a coupe and was hooked. All being well, I'll pick this one up next week. Interior colour and spec aren't exactly what I wanted but the price means I can change a few things. LOVE the colour.

  20. The difference between 1800 pound and 1300 euros is not a slightly difference, is almost half the price!!! By the way, yesterday I Sent a message to eltech in order to receive all their prices because I couldnt find them anywhere! It is a pity they only have a facebook profile. Anyway. I am al so considering to buy that louver because as you said it is prettier, lighter and colder. And I find the price fair.

  21. Thanks Dave I've just blocked the errant pipe up, disconnected the battery negative for 10 mins and am now letting it idle for 10 mins. Was noticeably better on start up. Dave, do you think it's worth having the fuel trims looked at / re-set? The car seemed to smell richer than usual, although I'm now standing at the exhaust with the engine running and it smells normal now.

  22. I'm discussing with my wife the possibility of moving from the UK and Europe. Somewhere with more liberal views, a less controlled way of life, a place were the press is free to report FACTs. I believe property in North Korea, Venezuala and Cuba is reasonable right now. Anyone know of any decent Lotus independents there?

  23. The BBC is certainly biased but not half as scary as the German media. Anyone who is "in the know" in Germany will confirm there is mass press censorship going on, of a kind you would expect in an African dictatorship not an advanced Western country. The system blew a fuse when the attacks in Cologne happened and it was no longer possible to suppress the reporting.

  24. ^ exactly - this kalergi plan is bumbling along just nicely im hoping the French wake up and want out - and I can't see it being too long before the Germans start grumbling. Not really into conspiracy theories - but this really is happening and has been for my entire life ! the bbc - needs shutting down and/or privatising now On a side note - has anyone noticed the massive swing on the soaps towards lesbian/gay/trans characters ? I don't wish my kids seeing this on mainstream tv at 7pm. It seems to me that every new character on this horrible junk is some sort of utterly misrepresented minority group. Maybe eastenders should just have one disabled transgender Asian Muslim cleric character and be done with it!! rant rant

  25. BBC at it big time yesterday, More doom and glooming.. Obviously in response to the previous optimistic reports. I believe it has now reached a point where an official investigation into the practices behind the reporting done by the BBC should be held.. There is definitely a conspiracy behind these reports in an attempt to undermine the democratic vote with inflammatory misleading reports. Unfortunately the powers behind this, realise they can use this to influence public opinion and get away with it.. If the BBC has been infiltrated and coerced into doing this , it needs addressing.... It also makes you wonder if there is more to the Richard Kalergi plan than we are aware of.!! If so be aware, be very aware...... Extract from the plan. It seems the Pan-European elite have a secret agenda that favored immigration into Europe as a way to socially engineer a cosmopolitan “quantity people" who would feel more like global citizens than nationals of European countries. The global elite could then easily herd these poor, degraded people, into accepting a United States of Europe and then a World Government. Every two years, the European elite honor this man by awarding the Coudenhove- Kalergi Prize to those who have excelled in promoting European integration. Angela Merkel and Herman Van Rompuy are recent winners of this prize, Scary stuff..!!!!! Even more scary, is the thought they can offer membership to this elite group for anyone who has position and influence to promote their agenda.. or alternatively discredit them using media profiling, then conjure a replacement with a willing party using the same media methods... beware the power of the press,!!!"

  27. with the few modifications i had, the condition Derek describes was norm and system would run lean and cut boost. To take advantage of the bigger turbo, the solution was to install aftermarket ECU. I am told that there is a big Tunercat community who can probably mod the GM chip program to utilize a 3 bar MAP sensor, but when i investigated vs an aftermarket ECU conversion (A) the cost was similar (B) i would still be left with ancient tech and would have to shell out same $ each time a tuning was required. as you discovered, dyno tuners dont know anything about Esprit ECU...

  30. The cups car are 99% built on the line these days and have been for some years. Evora GT4 and T125 are about as much as LMS have built from scratch recently in their workshops but they are building no more of those (T125 project been sold completely and you maybe lucky and there is one GT4 left available) . They have also been doing the first builds and the development for the 3-11 in the workshop over th last year, but that's all done now I believe. As Bib's say's, the guys in the Motorsport office have been scattered into the equivalent departments in the main factory, Russ Gibbons is now over in the main sales dept. Gavan has been out of there all this year, he's in the main office and the bulk of the mechanics are now on the line. They are still doing the job they were always doing I believe, just not as a team under one roof anymore. Rowly and a few of the mechanics are left in the workshop servicing cars and Ady is still in the stores, but for how much longer is anyone's guess, don't think they know either... Main thing, it appears everyone still has their jobs which is always good to hear!!

  34. My view is what will be, will be. I don't want it to stop me using either of my Lotuses. Hence either my Elise or my 400 will be found at the local train station car park, or other car parks, very regularly.

  37. Well looks like I have another little project to get on with, and here is my trying to thin them down. But just cant help it, it's like a drug. Well some nice guy comes up and say's. A friend of mine has a Lotus been stuck in her garage for the past 6 years as her ex husband ( a mechanic) was too lazy to carryout repairs need for her MOT in 2010. Of course ears prick up and I pay attention, but the guy doesnt know which Lotus it is, he just says the current owner just wants her to go to a Lotus enthusiast and he had heard of my name. OK, so phone number passed on. Two weeks later I get a call from a lovely lady who goes on to explain what happened with the car and what it was. 1991 Lotus Elan M100 SE Turbo in British Racing Green with Grey leather interior and a Yellow flash on the seat's. So the interest level's have been heightened and we set off next day on a 4 hour drive to view this little pocket rocket. Must just add here that is was a cracking day, with brilliant sunshine so of course we head North in SHMBO little M100 turbo with the roof down and me driving. Thought that bit might be of interest for anyone who knows the B class roads North of Inverness., you get the picture. Anyway, 4 wonderful hours later we find this beautiful setting where the little Green thing is seen tucked away in the far corner of the shed looking very forlorn, cover in dust, cobwebs, bird's shit and crap, it transpires the car was purchased new in Aberdeen, was involved in an accident at one year old and was subsequently an insurance write off due to cost of materials, purchased by a local garage, repaired and sold to the current owner who drove her up to the MOT issues in 2010. So I gave her a once over to see just how badly she had faired while in hibernation and took the decision to rescue the little thing. I stuck a battery in her and everything worked !!. Tried to start her but no joy. removed air filter and gave her a shot of funny juice into the intake and pop, off she went, albeit only for a few seconds but it meant she would run and she sounded good.. So deal done and plans made to go back and collect her at a later date. Now this is the bit about me driving SWMBO little M100 home. I must explain that this little pocket rocket is none standard, she has full bore Peco sports exhaust, a Forrest superchip, dump valve and induction kit, last time on the dyno she was reading 186 BHP at the wheels. So we get back toward Inverness and I miss the turnoff, shame, means an extra couple of hundred miles down the A9, cut accross country through Boat fo Garten, Crianlarich, Aberlour and just about every other cracking road I could think off. Two tanks of fuel later and a good few hours, arrive home after a fantastic drive, all with the roof down. Cobwebs blown of the Elan and the brakes well and truly bedded in. So, back to the highlands yesterday with the van and trailer, load said little Green machine and 9 hours later she is back at base. Withing 20 minutes we have comments from neighbors, oh, starting a collection are we. Well, presently four Lotus at the door, one motorhome and of course my RAV 4. Things could get interesting in the next day or two.

  39. in 2000 I was on the national executive of a national youth organisation and I organised a millennium event to raise money to buy lifeboats. We managed to buy 2 Atlantic class 75 inshore boats - one stationed at Harwich and one on Skye. I went to Harwich to the naming event as a guest of honour and also attended the annual RNLI lunch and award ceremony to receive a certificate from the Duke of Kent in recognition of our contribution.

  41. Well it's only taken about 9 months and the damn things aren't even finished yet but they look like what they are designed for. It's a start I suppose. Now need to have the bottom edge fettled and then drilled and tapped.. then the deck lid needs prepping and then... they get attached. Not much work or waiting then

  42. I know and that's where I made a bit of a balls up - test driving the 400. In isolation the N/A was very nice but the 400 has left a big impression on me. More than any other car ever including various Porsches, TVR's, Astons, a Ferrari 355, a Noble and various M cars.
