  2. Out visiting my dad today. Love you and RIP buddy. Had my mum with me so throttle and lateral g-forces were somewhat curtailed. Nice day though. :-)

  3. That is great news as gutted couldn't make this year, just spent the day traipsing round New York and I would much rather have been at Brands, have fun on Sunday all :-)

  5. Agreed, I enjoyed it, even though I didn't know who anyone was and I get awkward around new people, so I didn't talk to anyone apart from a guy parked next to me with an LF1, but yes, beautiful cars! Will be going next year!

  7. Obviously I'm biased, but Scotland is just ace. Had a wee blast up north myself today. During a couple of hundred miles driving, I saw - Countless Porsches 6 Aston Martins 3 Morgans 2 Ferraris 1 Lamborghini 1 Mclaren And absolutely zero Lotuses. Exclusivity eh?

  8. Hi guys, I'm on a bit of a bucket list trip to see Bruce Springsteen play 3 gigs in his hometown and I was just wandering back to the hotel when I found a window display using a mint JPS Europa, Bizzare, hoping to go back tomorrow to find out more, maybe they'd like to sell it, dreamt for years about owning a JPS Europa, maybe this one has been waiting for me :-) Cheers, Paul. A couple more pictures of the beauty :-)

  10. Well I've actually driven it now! It had sat where I left it on Wednesday evening after getting back. Simply been too busy and when I've needed to drive it's been to do things like to buy a new lawnmower and, as practical as an evora is, it ain't that practical. I have swapped the plates for the short ones I bought (legal size just as small as possible So, after everything was done this evening I popped out for 30 minutes. God it's quick. I'm lucky to have some really nice roads on my doorstep. I would say that it's actually quicker than my old 240 Cup exige point to point as it's ab

  12. Jonny sorry for not spending a bit more time with you just my boy was itching to have a look round. Thank you it is lovely, gutted yours wasn't there. It was very lucky I could have been a whole worse if I had been 3ft back. i made a few boo boos I parked on the ramp, Bibs called I moved it then Brooke pointed out I had parked in the show and shine. Talk about cause trouble on your first time out. I know I know Rick but his Elite and Fabian's S1 were the cars of the show for me mind you how nice were the Lotus Cortina's

  15. Agreed another great day for any petrolhead and a good turn out today. Pretty much what my version of Jay Leno's Garage would look like so thanks to everyone for the fantasy! Dan, it was good to meet you and your car, that thing was one of the stars of the show, sorry to hear about what happened later, I'm just glad it's only the bumper. I had a nice run home with Dave's Evora gracing my rear view mirror most of the way. I've really got to stop thinking about that 1900cc supercharger now, I didn't use the full rev range in any gear once! I can highly recommend the Sunbeam L

  16. Agreed great day, had a bit of a disaster on the way back stopped in the high street and some twat backed into the side of my car luckily only caught the back bumper f&£King annoying. I don't think he could see it as it is so low but he also didn't bother to turn his head and he did have parking sensors and I really hate him a lot. Going to have get it resprayed. But top day and good to put some faces to names.

  17. They seem to have omoited the (Auto) from the bulleted list on the Exige page, over on the Evora it says: Sports ratio 6-speed manual transmission Optional 6-speed Automatic Light shift weight Slick changes Balanced clutch weight Forged alloy shift paddles (Auto) Lotus throttle management blips on downshifts (Auto) 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds)

  18. Just parked at the local supermarket , was walking away when I heard a group of lads . 1st one said , " wow what's that car ? Haven't seen anything like that before , his mate replied " duh , don't you know anything ? That's a special concept car " I chuckled and carried on walking , didn't want to burst number 2's bubble

  20. Steve, yes Barrie of Essex fame had it restored at GST I think it was there for about a year. It honestly drives I imagine like it was when it was new. I can't stop driving it. i spent 2 hours cleaning it yesterday but a good hour of that was just standing there looking at it. Assuming circumstances don't change I will be keeping it for ever.

  21. Hi guys, well my Elite is gone , off to a new life in Southampton, was sad to see it going off on a trailer but really had to go as it was sitting about on the drive for long periods which was a shame as it runs and drives great, it's off to a super keen owner who i'm sure will look after it and carry on where i left off. Thank's for all the help and advice over the last two years, this is a great friendly forum, i'll still look in now and again and may even be back with a Lotus some day

  22. Nice shots and never previously thought how we had so many iconic buildings / objects within about a 500m radius of one spot if you point the camera different directions! Each looks remote from each other. Mind you impressed that you got the one dry night this summer.

  25. Oh, so we have to let the pace car go, then stop on the grid, when we see the pace car in our rear view mirrors, try to catch it up.

  27. That's why it's better to be near the back of the 'snake' - inevitably gaps open up in the middle of the pack and then everybody behind has to go like Lewis Hamilton on a qualifying lap increase their pace ever so slightly to regain position, .

  30. Spent another day on the number plate holder. I had one metal bracket holding it. Think this is insufficient, even after refiberglassing the moulding is not ridged enough to retain its shape. So increased the brackets to three. This holds it flush and the tiny bolts hold the edges out. This has done the trick, although I think if Colin Chapman was around I would get a serious talking to for increasing the weight! Still it's all about what it looks like, right? This is before I fixed the number plate holder kink! Think I will leave the seals off as no one else seems to have them fitted. Try

  32. I've made it more progress on the car... but still not finished it I've made up a pipe to remove the small silencer to hopefully give the sound a bit more volume and depth, if it doesn't sound impressive enough I will just fit S1 stainless silencer as I know they sound great. A lot of odds and ends to go back on but I'm getting there, most of the parts I have now restored and are ready to fit. Its time to move on to the leather trim, I'm going to recolonise it as its a bit faded. I was determined not to keep with the rather crap original radiat

  33. Thanks. Yes, it literally has been years - in fact, almost a decade! In my defence I did take 2 years out to restore a 1976 Mini for my daughter. I came close to selling it twice during that time but when things get bad you just have to shut the garage door and walk away. Sometimes I didn't touch it for months on end but I always came back to it. It took me 4 years to do the bodywork, including grafting 2ft long bits back in and making missing sections. However, I shan't be doing another one!! I wouldn't want to do that tartan interior again thanks. I can now get on with my next project..

  34. Well, after nearly 10 years of ownership it's pretty much done. I finally finished trimming the door cards and fitted them and even if I do say so myself it's not too bad for an amateur. The interior cost me £1,000 in total, including the carpets I hope Nick Fulcher would have approved of my amateur efforts. The door cards have made a big difference to the noise level and it's actually a nice place to be in the cabin now. I still have to sort out the cracked window frames and the terrible electric windows but it's pretty much there AND in time for Sunday.
