  1. Having bought my first Lotus earlier this year, an Exige, my interest in the Evora has grown. I had a drive in a 400 in the summer and it lived up to my expectations. The arrival of the amazing GT430 and GT430 Sport fuelled my interest and I have found myself looking around dealers at Evora's for the past month. I have no desire to sell my Exige, I love it and especially enjoy taking it on track every now and then. I wanted a GT car which would be useable, something that could almost be a daily, so I kept coming back to the 400 as it ticks the box for what I want and it is also great value

  2. Nice find today, and less than 10 miles from my house. And here's me thinking I knew all the local car's, but I suppose I can be forgiven this one as it's been hidden away in a shed for the past umpteen years. OK, so you are asking, what the ferk is he asking about. A very original, two owner, stunning JPS Esprit, that's what. So the story is I go visit a local company who do wheel refurbishment which is the next step for the imported S1 Esprit. I wanted to check them out and see what kind of finish they could give. While chatting to the proprietor I spied this very familiar shape hiding

  3. Thanks guys. I do think the 400 represents excellent value and with moderate use shouldn't depreciate too much (not that we think of that when buying!). The man maths has been working overtime to make this work. @550superfast cheers Gary. It has been a busy couple of months so I've been popping on TLF but not that visible. I really wanted to join you guys at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't make the diary work unfortunately. Looking forward to more track days next year. I'm sure Lotus Silverstone will not mind me sharing a pic from their website I

  4. So the conclusion is the 380 Cup is worse than the Golf GTI and not that much worse than a Lambo..... everybody's happy .....

  7. Barry thanks for the PM. A 911 I genuinely am in a bit of shock to be honest mate. Don’t worry it won’t go any further loose lips sinks ships and all that .

  8. If you buy that, here's a document you might find useful. My best advise is, sell your cars, buy the Evora and leave it alone.

  10. JMG has already made significant progress on the upmarket move this year - and that without needing a ajor makeover on the lineup. Just consider how far the prices have come for with Exige 430 and Evora 430. I'm more than convinced thenew models will be priced right on into the Porsche market: Lotus SUV --> Porsche Macan Evora Replacement --> 911 Exige/Elise Replacement --> Boxter/Cayman

  11. LapTimes = 100s of opinions ... haha My only thought is I don’t buy the gear shift argument as the new 350> onwards models have the sexy rifle precision shift so should be better than the string attached feeling of the original V6. These times and videos just re-iterate to me the original V6 is a bit of a track day bargain!

  12. They are beautiful in person. Here's a very rare shot of #1 and #2 back together in Austin Texas. I have a copy of factory records listing the 9 built for North America and ordering dealership. It shows two cars have been allocated to Canada by Lotus USA

  13. So it was YOU who is the phantom thrower of the Tom Brady dildo . (a bit of a new tradition established at the Buffalo Bills newly renamed stadium 2 years ago) https://nypost.com/2016/10/31/how-bills-fan-launched-tom-bradys-dildo-onto-the-field/

  15. " I’ve surprisingly never lost a penny on any of my esprits." said Barry to his Wife. She rolled her eyes for the 1000th time.
    1 point
  16. She's probably cottened on to the fact that all you do is buy wrecks, spend £1000s sorting them, then when they're done you flog them.

  17. careful Barry or some unscrupulous chap on here might try blackmailing you into parting with an esprit very cheaply

  18. That looks good. About time we had a dedicated Lotus magazine in the shops. There's loads of marque specific magazines out there and always wondered why there was never a Lotus mag. If I see it, I'll stuff it in front of all the GT Porsche and Total 911 mags.

  22. Is the Evora's out the window too? You could always get her an Audi TT or something. That'll keep here quiet for a while.

  25. ive had two 3 cylinder engines my smart roadster 3 cylinder turbo engine was a work & well ahead of its time, and the wifes mini clubman 1.5l 3 cylinder twin turbo is an epic drivable engine, with diesel like low down torque. and brilliant mpg..for a car weighing near on 1300kg..... if the volvo one is similar, then then an elise with that would be very very nice..

  31. The more I look at the video the less I understand why the Exige doesn't top its speed at 260-70-80.... many many many sec lost there... the 5th gear is far far far too long... the 6th is just used towards the end....until the fast portion I think it wasn't that bad... The new GT3 top 285 kmh in the last straight.... that 45 kmh faster.... It's on a straight of 2 kms approximately around 7 s lost just there

  32. Do not sell your 380! Buy a Clubsport as well instead ;-)

  33. Well of course we cannot compare but who wouldn't compare ??? that's what we all do right now..... So I sell my Exige 380 Cup and buy a GTI JUST KIDDING..... LUCKY YOU

  35. We now have two of the four Christmas trees up and decorated. The offending white tree which was bought last year at great expense has been replaced by a different-coloured version which apparently fits the interior decor much better. I just can’t wait for the remaining two to put in an appearance. I’m so excited........

  38. My car is coming! Shipped from the factory on Friday.... somewhere enroute to MMC as we speak PPF and tracker and exhaust by-pass button to fit.... looking good for 23rd collection

  39. Still haven't driven mine yet. It's currently having a lot of PPF applied. They really are jaw dropping in real life. The carbon parts are so exquisite, beautifully finished and expensive looking that my first instinct was to have it trailered home and wrap it up in cotton wool. However PPF will allow me to enjoy the car without stressing about stone chips, something the radical aero package will be very good at chucking about the place. I have decided to get a lot done, full front, rear wing, full rear bumper, interior sills, carbon diffuser and roof. I nearly didn't bother with the roof

  42. Some amazing photos off the car on your website, U.K dealerships take note you could learn how to advertise a car by just taking a look how the Americans do it.

  43. For those buying - I invested in Gtecniq ceramic coating. Well worth it and a doddle to clean

  44. Not on your life...... that is a heap of shite - simple as that. It's a sink hole of a car - you would never make a profit out of it - unless you sell it to top gear for one of their stupid challenges ?

  45. I think the question in the title may be incorrect. Maybe it should read 'How much will Barry pay?' I mean, a bit of second cut and most of that will buff out.
