  2. As someone who moved from the 4 lights to the 2 lights, just yesterday i was looking at the back of my car and thinking to myself how i appreciate the simplicity of the rear with just two lights. i loved the look ever since i saw the 380 sport launch video. Then, later that day on my way to lunch i spotted my old car on the road and i looked at the 4 rear lights and was like that actually looks really good as well. They're both very different looks but i think both work really well on the exige.

  7. The owners are slowly coming round to the fact that certain parts on the Esprit are N/A and substitutes need sourcing. The charge cooler pump is readily being updated to electric as a mechanical one it was unreliable at best. This is being done and excepted without ridicule even though the original parts are available. So why not the ECU , as a tuning aid in Glyn's case and upgrade in others. Glyn , you are not alone where people/ owners do not approve of what is done when you modify. They gave me a hard time on this very forum when I announced my upgrades and performance figu

  9. Well after a bit of a wait the 410 has finally landed! I thought I would leave a musings thread here as it may help some people go have a look at these cars and see what they are all about. I'm into the Lotus brand in a big way of course as a trader in this arena but I'm not a fanyboy and will offer here some unblinkered views. Its booked in for a new car detail/ceramic coat/PPF but first impressions on the coachwork and carbon are very good. I think Lotus have been doing a great job on paint for a while now (go look at a new beemer for comparison!) Carbon bits are first class. Ins

  11. I've said it before, but happy to say it Again: take that K&N (or Sparco of Greenfilter etc.) off and throw it away. It does not perform as good as a standard paperfilter. I bought a new one, oiled it lightly and drove around. Then went to the rollers and tested it: some ponies lesser. I then cleaned it out, and oiled it Again. Same result. And the guy operating the testbed told very clear that I should never use K&N and the likes, as they allow harmfull particles into the turbo (or compressor), acting as a grinding paste. He have been turbotuing and compressortunig cars for more than

  14. So, in spite of my meticulous intentions (!), my labelling of N/S v Off/side bits fell over when I took off the bit of yellow wire from the N/S Lower link and replaced it on the Offside one after painting! Just refitted the each lower link to the correct side so, short of torqueing everything up, which I will do when everything is back together, the diff is not going anywhere I've put the N/S Radius arm on the front fitting, which required the hole to be drilled out. This was a second hand replacement from LBs and after painting the stud wouldn't fit. I have put 2 'toe in' spacers

  15. Personally I hate black roofs on light colours, it ruins the lines of the car to me. Plus a shame to have black when you can have an interesting colour! I'll be keeping as much Liquid Yellow as possible...

  22. Its a sad indictment of any society that needs armed Police and Security Officers in a School to keep children safe. We don't have either Police or Security in schools here. guess how many shootings we have had? One. And after that they banned all guns except shotguns and they are stupendously difficult to get.

  25. When driving, as long as you keep above approx. 50mph then the rain blows over the cockpit. Anything below that speed and you and the cockpit are getting wet. If you're caught outside stationary and it's raining you can fit the shower cape over the cockpit. Basically, you need to plan well ahead and watch the weather forecast like a hawk. Dry days only really.

  28. He looks a real character and looking at his frilly ears, you can see he's a bit of a scrapper. So long as he wins! Maine Coons are really nice friendly cats. They tend to follow humans around the house and garden and one of the things that drew us to them is that unlike some of the oriental breeds, they don't yowl loudly. I also like that they are often big - very big! Our brown tabby, Chuck, in the pic above weighed nearly 10kgs when he reached full maturity, was all muscle and the scourge of the wildlife around here. He was always very gentle with us though. My wife often tells

  29. Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest??? Here's our Coon, finally went at 21 years old last summer. The wife took this pic and only realised afterwards the reflection of white lights in the glass at the opposite end of the room makes it look like he's wearing a flipping tiara! He was big and butch, so wouldn't have been best pleased had he known. His sister, a red tabby Maine Coon 'only' lasted 19 years. We need to get a couple more this year.

  32. Okay, installed the FluxBeam Opt 7 (socket HB3/9005 with color 6000K) today on my LHD Exige S HID/Xenon (photo1 ): aftermarket HIDs need up to half a minute to reach full brightness and a pure white color. They come with a heavy ballast, so need more place and wiring. I was satisfied but had some kind of blind spots and the light is mostly centered to one spot in the middle (see garage door) but provides a good distance (at least at this centered point) LED (photo 2): less weight and easier to install (extremely small ballast and less wiring). LEDs start immediately with a pure whit

  33. I don't own a 400 or live in the USA but for what it's worth the UK ownership experience has been great. I don't own cars for their posing value but would point out you get a completely different reaction from other road users and general public driving an Evora compared to a 911. I wonder if there's a 31-page thread on a Porsche forum somewhere that is anything like this one?

  37. Some of you will have seen posts from last year when I was RAC'd home due to what was thought to be a major gearbox failure. Well I still have a problem and I really need some help please. Chain of events: Car started making a very bad noise and I was struggling to select 2nd gear. This happened about 1 mile from my destination so i continued. Leaving for home noise became worse and gear selection became worse Rang the RAC for lift home Removed gearbox and tested and measured and checked everything. Number of peoples opinions and decided the gearbox was actuall

  38. Some of you might recall about a year or so back I posted this : For whatever reason, despite it being a pretty clear-cut case in the eyes of everybody else involved, the driver of the Merc decided that instead of putting his hands up ("It's a fair cop, guv") he wanted his day in court and today was that day. So for me it was no shift worked last night (or tonight), an early start this morning with a 2 hour drive to the court, only to spend the entire day sitting in an almost featureless 'witness room' with nothing to relieve the boredom other than a TV permanently tuned to 'Jeremy
