  3. I hope you aren't all bored with this yet, but thought I'd start a fresh thread about my impressions of the new car having spent 30 or so hours with it now, plus include a few more pics. As you can imagine, I've been out driving in the sun today and I just get more and more impressed with this car. I think the build quality when compared with Exige, is streets ahead in terms of fit, finish and materials used. My comment yesterday about the CF trim insert on the passenger sill lifting up is, I now believe, nothing to do with Lotus themselves. Because Lotus rather bizarrely don't include a

  4. Bumpers and mirrors the correct colour now. Mirrors re wired. If they work I will be pleased as I took the motors out and cleaned and used silicone grease to repack. Tail gate also paint as it should be. ✌️

  7. The hotel I stay in when up at Head Office has little parking, so I've learnt to let them park for me. The outcome of this is that they always park my car in "My" spot. If there's another car already there they will move it for me so that the Evora is always looked after 👍

  11. This is Alex’s story... all I can say is he has had some amazing experiences and opportunities! Apologies if this sounds pretentious!   12. I'm right around $75USD including P&P to most of the UK. Hopefully that's reasonable. That would definitely lower the P&P costs significantly, as the cheapest I could find is via USPS at around $25 per. Of course there would be a delay for the entire lot, as it takes me a day or two to build a set, and a few days to a week to receive the parts. Swapping the LED color to something else wouldn't be hard, but incorporating multicolored ones might be, as there's only a single pair of wires going to the LEDs.   13. ...just remembered last Sunday day out in the Peaks (Baslow road, A619 I think) saw a 211 and a lime green Elise (may have been an Exige as my memory is rubbish!) shortly after one another. Nice to see, no waves as you'd have thought the XC60 driver was weird. First time I've seen a 211 I think, looked amazing among the family wagons trundling along, even my wife commented "that's nice" - high praise indeed!

  29. Is that Superfast HCY700D (Chassis No. 6661SF)? Another RHD one KYY500C (Chassis No. 6659SF) turned up at our local car show a month ago. The owner has a 275 GTB as well. They're pretty much the Holy Grail of coupé Ferraris. Why did you find it so awful to drive?

  30. The question is what will replace the 400? A downgraded GT 410 with the 400 tailgate seems like something easy enough to do. But do they want to replace it? I guess once again we'll have to wait until Geneva to get an answer. Considering they need a car to sale at least in North America and China just got its first allocation it would make sense to have an entry level model in the range.

  34. Thanks Sacha! Another update! Sorry that this thread has been moving a little slowly in recent weeks, work has been mental! We are certainly still working to our deadline of getting it to the 70th anniversary in Hethel. Things have made a big step in the right direction in the last couple of days, as I showed on Monday, the interior is almost done. The engine is also now back where it belongs - with a few little changes - which is one of the biggest challenges now ticked off the list. The gearbox was a true disgrace to the man who previously rebuilt it, but now it’s toget

  40. OK, at 65 I admit to being an old git - but young at heart!.Keeping my Lotii on the road keeps the body supply with all that contortion! I always thought my Eclat engine bay looks a bit 'off' with the throttle cable floating around on top of the cam covers. I'll go with the Esprit as it was intended and see how it goes. (however I will take Paul advice and be purchasing a spare!). Regarding the wheels, you are not going to believe me when I tell you the cost. ------- They cost £30.00 per wheel.   41. Today was the first time I had the 3-Eleven with the Jaguar XKR-S GT. You couldn't get two more different performance cars if you tried: the scalpel and the hammer! The 3-Eleven is going into storage for a few weeks after recently enduring a number of track days and long weekend blasts (during which it performed faultlessly). Time though for some proper tlc before its next exploits...

  42. The Lotus 3-Eleven is now down to receive this Hangar 111 (Komo-tec) engine upgrade in October: 455-465bhp versus 405-410bhp and 395lbs/ft versus 315lbs/ft.

  43. The first car period!! The press car was a Std 311 updated to look like and perform like a 430, (I used the registration number of that car to trace the chassis number on a parts look up system I have that links to DVLA!!) The digit in the chassis number denoted the engine code for a 400, Mine has the chassis digit for a 430 power plant.
