  2. The conducting medium in fibre optics is a strand of glass which, though quite flexible up to a point, will ultimately snap. At that point your light path will be effectively interrupted, as I understand the physics. That one lead on your unit looks to have been bent past the point of failure. Word to the wise is to avoid hard bends in the leads. For replacements should the auto sector prove to be fruitless try the amateur aviation supply business. Regarding the switches I went through mine in a concentrated effort using metal polish before finishing with contact cleaner. This salvaged se

  3. She has hit the nail on the head. Every point raised, the reason to leave. If the EU had not got too big it's boots and adopted these policies, I for one would be happy to stay in. But until then we must get out.

  5. @Buddsy just posted this on facebook. She gets it, Merkel doesn't seem impressed though!. It's also critically important to remember that the EU are out to royal shaft our whole country to stop others from leaving as she reminds us at the beginning. Who are the EU to try to ruin us as an example to others, this isn't a school yard.

  6. Just for the record - it was a fairly busy day indeed (significant amount of traffic, with some people being keen to make sure they are "winning the trackday", especially right after lunch (maybe those burgers were sprinkled with testosterone ); but also without any noticeable inadequate driving at all). The weather was excellent, with mild clouds or just a blue sky and mild 7-12C temperature. Despite many cars and few brief track closures, we've managed to do >60 laps in total; I'm sure @alias23, @Arun_D, @Tex and gentleman in lime Sport 350 scored similar amount of driving. Fingers

  9. Definitely @Piers, we'll have to get on a LoT day at Goodwood together next year. Last one of this season was the weekend just gone at Silverstone GP, catching up with @alias23, and meeting @vd9 and @Tex for the first time (also featuring @mcx in attendance, coming up to say his in his stealth bomber Cup). In preparation, a couple of weeks ago I joined the growing number of us deciding to invest in datalogging hardware for performance reviewing, and using @Jack, @NW76 , @550superfastand @W31SSN's comments in the dedicated thread, decided to buy an Aim SoloDL2 logger, mostly down to

  10. On August 11th 2019 we (as in Lotus Car Club of Sweden) arrange a track day at Kinnekulle Ring just outside Götene in Sweden. This will be the fifth time in a row that we visit this Lotus friendly track. Please contact me via PM or e-mail stefan.axelsson(at)lccs.nu for more information. Or take a look at the Swedish web site in case you master the language http://lccs.nu For more information about the track, check out this excellent guide: https://rejsa.nu/bana_info.asp?kinnekulle

  11. How cool though is this..... the fact that over 30 years on people still remember these exact cars. Shows what a impression Lotus leaves on you. Oberviously Lotus has never been a massed produce car company, but the fact that so many cars they have produced, they are either remembered by previous owners or they knew someone that owned that car. It just makes all of them that little bit more special....

  12. It’s a very powerful speech - bet this isn’t reported anywhere in the UK. the most interesting thing is if this were touted by the media it would be spun as a right wing racist bigoted view.

  13. Exactly, not just a pathetic politician but a thoroughly pathetic individual who, given his past record of providing U.K. secrets to Russia, Palestine etc should bar him from being any kind of a public figure His only view as leader of the opposition is to oppose everything, as once again demonstrated, and push for his own vested gain and collapse the U.K. economy. He has never uttered one constructive word in his life

  15. Wow, properly researched and presented POV in a calm and clear manner. Can we have this politician in the UK? Also, i'd happily take her to dinner and pay for the privilege to hear more! I wouldn't make that offer to a single useless UK politician. Meanwhile, back in the UK, Corbyn objects to the BBC offer of timing for the joint leaders debate, saying he would prefer ITV to host as they would ensure it did not clash with the final of I'm a Celebrity. WTF have we become? Really? Anyone on here still seriously think that this absolute joke of a leader has the credentials to lead this co

  16. Pininfarina also shows an E supercar and they want to start production and sales of E supercars from now on. Out of that I expect the 1000 hp+ e-power package and its drivetrain is available from some company and Lotus should do fine developing a chassis and body which works well. So the 2 mio GBP supercar as a trackday car should be relatively easy to achieve. It will boost the image of Lotus, helps massively on communication, introduces Lotus cars to many new customers. This will be positive for all Lotus owners and for the actual Lotus sales too. I am very positive about such an idea

  19. Tim, You raise a good point in that you CAN pay off the finance early and with no penalty usually. Let the finance run, again usually, for 6 months and the dealers "bonus" is not normally clawed back by the Finance company either and so may also allow the dealer to "flex" the price of the car a little more too. So, whilst i understand @mayesprit your desire not to use Finance, which you can make to work for you and stay in control of, just remember the ONE MAJOR FINAL BENEFIT of using finance, your consumer protection rights are 100% better if you have used Finance to part pay for a

  20. No, as I explained earlier, they are now 2" front and 3,25" rear. The originals are 2" front and 2,5" rear, but yes, it's Radinox from Felgenfuchs. I don't know if other Companies sell these, but that's the only place I could find them. Yes, I've kept the original parts incl. the center metal discs with the engraved OZ Racing branding. Plus a bouble sticker with the Lotus logo. Spoke to some people about these, and that's what they use too. They should be 61mm, not the 60mm these are, but I couldn't find them in 1mm larger size. That's for the futurae. One front Wheel now finished to

  26. Just on the "this is the only deal available" line....does anyone actually believe that? I can believe it is with the caveat "by the deadline", but otherwise its utter BS. We may be the first to leave so there is no precedent for a divorce settlement, but we aren't the first to want a cooperative relationship with the EU from outside the EU and there appears to be a number of different deals that other countries have got with the EU so they don't always apply a one size fits all take it or leave it philosophy. The only reason they are able to sustain their line is because we have clearly b

  35. May seems a long time ago, and I have now been without my GT3 6 long months. I thought it was time I updated on progress to date. The damage meant the car would need a total strip down and respray, as well as repairing the fibreglass damage, and other part. First thing on the shopping list was a drivers door as the original one was too far gone to be repaired. After some searching I found a Sport 350 door at DVB, for £550.00 which given it had all the fittings and glass I didn't think was too bad, most of the rest of the parts, such as sunroof fittings seals, and front splitter were ordere

  36. Update on my TC warning - following change of the Brake Light Switch, the DPM drop-out issue has not recurred! I’ve tested the old switch and cannot electrically or mechanically find fault with it. My only conclusion (speculation) is that whilst there is nothing obviously wrong, something odd is occuring with phasing of the two pairs of contacts.

  40. Thanks for the welcome. Old and new cars together. I must admit I thought the VX220 was a good car but the evora is a different class, and so much easier to get in and out of. I’d wanted a 400 since lotus launched them. It’s been a long time coming I originally wanted to go for a exige but upon seeing the evora in this colour scheme and driving it, i had to have it. This photo was Courtessy of the old owner. Much better at taking photos than me!! A real nice guy that Stratton motor co got in contact with for me
