  4. Will check the work diary but think this will be ok. If you want to hire a instructor I would recommend Shawn Taylor who is local. He use to work at The Lotus Driving Academy and has racer an awful lot to. He is based in Norwich. I used him for a day when I did my ARDS test.

  5. I've had three British sports cars and two of them have been in green. People seem to like Motorsport Green or at least that's what they tell me as it gets frequent compliments on its livery.

  11. OK, t'is back from the paint shop. It is a cheap and cheerful paint job in Carnival Red. It is quite acceptable. The engine is next. I have it out due to a bent valve. It needs a freshen up which I will do.........rings, bearings, gaskets and seals, timing belt and so on.. Then drop it back in.

  12. It does have an O ring, but a light smear of sealant would be belt and braces. Dave

  13. Wow. That thing looks vicious. I'd halfway look into it for an Eclat but it would need some very good custom bodywork, as you said some wheels to match. And then you'd want the sound to match the looks. And then... it goes on and on!

  15. Only green car I've ever owned. Built it in '97 with our son when he was 12 years old as I wanted to teach him how a car was made. That was how I sold the idea to the wife anyhow!

  17. Lovely colour combo you have there, but for me the front and rear need to match oem whichever way you go. I would quite like the current front/rear bumper style, but not sure it would work with the S1 tailgate. I'll stick with the S1 look I think

  19. Below thank you from SCAA for our collection. Dear Ian Thank you so much for the recent donation towards the life-saving service provided by Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). On behalf of the whole team at SCAA, I would like to thank you and your fellow Lotus car enthusiasts for the generous donation of £238.25 that was raised following your tour of the car collection last Sunday. As the country's only charity-funded air ambulance, SCAA receives no government funding and relies entirely on public donations to deliver expert paramedic care to the scene of time-critical emergencies, in every corner of Scotland, 365 days a year. We simply could not continue our life-saving service without the generosity of valued supporters like yourselves, and every donation makes a difference. In the past 12 months, these wonderful gifts have helped us to increase our hours of operation from 10 to 12 per day, so we are available even longer to fly to people in need. With the continued help from our donors, we also look forward to making further improvements to our service in the near future. As a valued supporter of SCAA, we would also like to keep you updated with our latest news, including fundraising opportunities and project updates. If you would prefer not to receive these by post, or would prefer to receive the information by email, please contact the SCAA office using any of the details below. Many thanks once again for your generous support and please pass on our appreciation to your members. Yours sincerely Katherine Farmer Administration Assistant Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance The Control Tower Perth Airport Scone Perthshire PH2 6PL Telephone: 0300 123 1111 www.scaa.org.uk Scottish Charity SC041845

  20. Hi Guys, Sol Bell & Colvill delivered my new toy on Saturday, thanks guys, great service 👍 have to say it just looks epic, I normally wouldn't choose this colour as I normally go more lary but it really does suit it. Hopefully after the stitch up that was the 380 Cup(that really did leave a bad taste and nearly moved me away from Lotus) that this will be a keeper, I'm hoping it's title as the fastest Lotus Production car will stand as the last of this analogue era before the Hybrid models kick in next, as I would guess this is the way Lotus will head with any new models. Now I just need to give it a spin 😀 Cheers, Paul.

  21. TA DAAA! My super duper supercharged Elise S! 😁 I worked on the theory that, supposedly, if you buy something like a 134bhp CR, then in a year or so you'll want a few more bhp, and we all know that selling/buying a car loses a few £grand, so I talked myself into spending a bit(!) extra and going for something that already has ~220bhp*! Tragically the rain today meant I couldn't really unleash all those horses (I'm new to this "amusing" power/weight ratio world, remember!) but I am certainly looking forward to having some fun in this soon! (How many exclamation marks have I used in today's posts?!!!!!!!!!! Anyone would've thought I'm kinda excited!!!!) *Yes, yes, I know...you're going to say that this time next year I'll be sniffing around some crazy-bhp Exiges.......!

  22. If anyone is interested in replacing their grill with stainless steel mesh I have spent some hours online and took a punt with this: https://www.vidaxl.co.uk/e/8718475519119/vidaxl-stainless-steel-expanded-wire-mesh-panel-100x85-cm-30x17x25mm It turned up today and is IDENTICAL spacing and thickness to the original grill, just needs a bit of cutting, forming, etch primer and paint now..... Oh and the bumper removing to do all this... I'll post pictures once I get round to doing it... Could be a while before it happens 😁

  23. Bruce Springsteen’s First New Single in 5 Years and it’s a Cracker 👍 Hi All, Being a bit of a Bruce fan it is always big news when he releases a new single, it has been 5 years since we last had new material from Bruce and his new single ‘Hello Sunshine’ really doesn’t disappoint. In all honesty when Bruce announces he is doing a solo album I’m always a little disappointed as I just love Bruce with the E-Street band, especially live, seen them around 85 times since 1985, but funnily enough I probably listen to Nebraska, Tunnel of Love and Ghost of Tom Joad more than any other of Bruce’s albums so the fact that the new album ‘Western Stars’ is a solo effort really does bode well, available June 14th and available from our friends at Badlands if you’d like a copy - http://www.badlands.co.uk/springsteen-store/ Below is a link to the video of ‘Hello Sunshine’ I have to say that I really love it, can’t stop listening to it and I can’t wait to next year when he hits the road with it, beware HiFi Lounge may be shut a fair bit next summer as we follow Bruce around the globe Cheers, Paul.

  24. My local dealer has a "unique" Exige S at the moment, it's been upgraded to look like a 380 - which I wanted to do over time. I can't stand the odd lights on the newer Exiges. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/exige-s3/unique-exige-v6s/9650820 Whether it makes financial sense to do this is a different story, but if you intend to keep the car long term it's fine!

  25. She could get a different job that doesn't involve any flying. Or does her need to increase her already considerable material wealth exceed her need to save the planet? I'm also thinking that making an appearance in the pink boat with the worlds media looking on is good PR which may help with the former, or am I being a bit cynical now? Anyway, I doubt we'll kill the planet. We could make ourselves extinct, which on balance may not be a bad thing.

  26. Don't know if anyone heard the interview on R4 yesterday morning but Emma Thompson basically destroyed her own argument: Dame Emma Thompson has defended flying from Los Angeles to London to join climate change protests, saying: “It’s very difficult to do my job without occasionally flying.” The actress was accused of hypocrisy last week after taking the 5,400-mile journey to join Extinction Rebellion demonstrators in the capital. Dame Emma told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that she understood the criticism, but said she offsets her carbon footprint by planting trees. She said: “It’s very difficult to do my job without occasionally flying, although I do fly a lot less than I did. But we are caught, because to travel at all by aeroplane is impossible without causing damage to the planet. I’m in the very fortunate position of being able to offset my carbon footprint, but most people can’t.” Basically "I'm alright Jack but screw everyone else" What is offsetting carbon anyway? How many F'king trees do you need to plant to IMMEDIATELY mitigate a flight. One sapling does not digest as much CO2 as a 200 year old tree...........
