  1. A few months ago Bibs contacted me to ask if Mrs Bazza's Elise could be used for some filming to represent Lotus. The car was picked up and used for filming in Hertfordshire and then used on another day down in Beaulieu. It was pitted against a Porsche Boxter and the aim was to show how each car rescued its car company from bankruptcy. The programme will be aired at 8pm on Tuesday 21st May on ITV4. I've no idea how good it will be but it's probably worth watch.

  2. Your thoughts re the 570 Mac mirror my own experiences of test driving one before deciding to order my GT410 Sport. I thought the Evora steering was marginally superior and very fast though the 570 is, I did wonder just how relevant it is on today's roads. I, too, felt it difficult to justify the service and running costs over the Evora. For sure, the 570 is a great car but I really didn't feel the additional cost over the Evora was easy to justify. The Evora really does do everything I want it to. It's quick, handles beautifully and isn't ridiculously expensive to run.

  3. Went to the Stonor House Supercar Sunday, near Henley on Thames for the first time this morning and generally very impressed with it. All manner of cars, old and new, including quite a few Loti. Think a smaller, more cosy Goodwood House with far fewer people and no oiks!

  4. https://kelvedonlotus.co.uk/product/side-repeater-lamp-rh-exige-v6/ https://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/7/2298/s3-style-led-side-repeaters/ A couple of links. Neither have EVORA text but MAY be the same design but I don't know if they are correct so check with the suppliers. B&C will be able to confirm what they can obtain to replace broken Evora side indicator repeaters. It seems that ones with EVORA text are no longer available. I will let you know how the stickers are when I receive a finished example. Justin

  7. Crazy Idea. You have 7V at the fuelpump? Are you sure that the positive wire to the inertia switch , or to the fuelpump isn't coming from the + of the ignition coil AFTER the resistance wire? Because in that case you will get about 7V instead of 12V. The resistance wire is there to provide the ignition coil with a lower voltage (7V) with engine running . On starting, that wire is overided by a normal wire coming from the startermotor, to have a bigger spark (12V feed), but once the startermotor stops working, voltage on the coil falls back to 7V (over the resistance wire). If your +

  8. Added 3-D printed scoops to my already "fettled" intercooler air hose inlets (grilles have been removed also) in an effort to maximize air flow through the IC. Anything that might help reduce IATs is the goal.

  11. Helen, tell him nothing! We know, that is all that matters! He will own weapons though as he is from Margate. We will have to rely on intelligence.

  12. I put this deck in 3 years ago. The gazebo went over it last year and makes it really usable late into the evening from about May until late September time. Infact last year we slept out in it a couple of nights. The main advantage of the composite I wanted was zero maintenance and perfectly safe and nonslip any time of the year. I think it was the B & Q composite. The gazebo curtains can be all mesh or all solid all round.

  15. Thanks. Not done much on the Esprit over the last year but I have a few little jobs I will be attending to and posting on in the coming weeks. Postie bought some parcels this morning so I can crack on. Have a retro motorised mask head unit at the moment but can only listen to a cd so many times. Taken the plunge and upgraded to DAB, hands free etc head unit. This pioneer unit looked fairly understated so should look in keeping.

  18. And the next unsurprising things... For the rear seatbelt bolt to pull out of the mounting would still take considerable force as it would have to rip a 2 inch hole in the body to get the welded nuts out. That much force would definitely have ripped these babies apart.

  19. As they are the same size wheels as the G cars, you might be interested in that a number of G Turbo owners (myself included) have gone for Vredstein Sportrac 225/60 R15s - check the following post for the images of the old/new tyres side by side. https://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/71785-tyres-for-turbo-esprit/ Added bonus for G cars is that they are designed by Giugiaro and have Giugiaro on the sidewall.
