  1. After 10 years off the road she's back! Thanks to my ace buddy Simon of Scott Russell Sportscars fame she's freshly MOT'd and road ready. Collect tomorrow evening - so a 25 mile run home up the A34 from Oxford to West Oxfordshire ... This is how she looked after we wheeled her out of the garage, after such a long period, in June: Owned since '97 - and to think I nearly sold her, but was persuaded out of doing that by some good people on these forums! Looking forward to a little 'de-bugging' as I put some miles on her again. Have fun! I

  6. Hi Everyone I have just put a large number of Lotus Memorabilia in the Classifieds listings. This is part of my Aunties Collection and she wants them to go to real Lotus enthusiasts and are all genuine Lotus items. She is nearly 80 and would like to use the money. Many of these are exceedingly rare with only a few ever having been made. Some are consumable items (Like Matches) so were used and discarded. There is no pricing as I am looking at decent offers. I have sold many of these items before for other family members so know roughly what they are worth. Please don't hesitate to co

  7. Well finally the bumper came off today, never again do I want to do that job! I've fitted lots of bumper trims in my time, but that has to be one of the worse to remove, so not looking forward to refitting. Some of the last bolts pulled through their holes, so a couple will need repairing on the body, one on the bumper. Most bolts were easy to get to, it's just that they were all rusted making the job difficult. The ones on the corner where you can't get to are the worst, they are bad. I might do some mods to those fittings to make life easier. With the bumper off now, I can start to look

  9. Be sure to post up an introduction when you get your new machine Robert. Always good to see another Lotus being purchased by an owner in Scotland. There are Lotus owner meets every month up here, which you’ll be made very welcome at. Look forward to seeing photos of the Exige when you take delivery👍😉

  10. Congratulations to @Neil D. who correctly identified that there was no jet on the end of emulsion tube when I took it out. If you would like to PM me your details Neil I'll get your prize in the post to you. I had thought that I had been careless when cleaning the parts and had lost the jet, but on checking the photos I noticed that when i took it out there wasn't one there! Only two posibilities 1 it was never there in the first palce or 2 it was still stuck in the hole. On checking with my trusty mini camera there it was, stuck at the bottom. Tried everything I could think

  12. I've been looking at Evora's recently, always had an eye on them. I originally wanted a later esprit but I'm scared of the v8s and having driven a few S4 variants there wasn't a huge leap over my Turbo. I've done the Elise thing and whilst I loved it long drives became tiresome and it riled me that it was so small inside. Que the Evora, which should tick all the boxes. Unfortunately for me they haven't depreciated enough! which is both a good and a bad thing dependent on weather you have one or not! but as above they appear to be a hard sell, lots hang around on the market for a while. Im curr

  13. Evening all, just had this Exige V6 delivered and I have to say I'm in love with it. Had the wheels refurbed from the original diamond cut into the LF1 gold colour, it really sets it off imo. Love the look of these in roadster guise, makes them have a whiff of something even more exotic with that glass hatch! Having come from a 460bhp m140i I can honestly say that an incredibly responsive, howling v6 is such a nice change, instead of just relying on all that torque. How good is the air con in these? Worthwile having on or not? Having come from a VX220 SC, it settings were either

  15. I never really gave this much thought until a trip down to Italy in the Evora last year and having difficulty in obtaining 98 fuel. We managed to just about keep on top of it and probably had the equivalent of between 96 and 98 slushing around in the tank. A 458 Italia and a Gallardo owner settled on 95 a couple of times rather than wait for the only 98 pump and later began to have rough running issues. During the trip I sort of became aware of the whole 5 or 10% ethanol issue and was under the impression that every current car on sale today can take up to 10% ethanol (some may have

  18. Ok offside caliper done with shims on inside of disc, seems to work! Just need to move the shims on the near side. Decided to keep it stock and get PNM to make me some small copper hoses. About a day to get the brakes online now and the driveshafts in. Then torque it all up. I lost the Turbo boost pipe sleeve nut. Once I have that I can complete the Turbo install fit the new stainless exhaust and heat shielding. I'm expecting trouble with the exhaust fit so may have to have it adjusted. Then just the plenum, air intakes and top fuel hoses to bolt on! Soon, the engine start test with a fire ext

  20. The DM system was functionally good - one of the better ones I've driven - but throwing ABS FAIL regularly and inspiring no confidence. The owner will be keeping the entire system, should any future owner decide to revert.

  23. Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys. I guess it will be best if I start a project thread once the car gets here. I have a few other non Lotus projects on the go at the moment. A 190e that im converting to an EVO1 body with an M3 V8 engine in it 🙂 I promise I won't do something like that to the lotus ! Im on Instagram under omegaman911 if anyone cares to take a look at my other car projects.

  25. A little update . The exhaust started to be a bit louder again . So time to check the experiment and open up the muffler. I noticed that there was a small hole where the tube enters the muffler. This has nothing to do with the fact that it is made repackable, but was caused by an old repair. So I had some welding to do. But back to the experiment: I openend up the exhaust and indeed, there was a lot of rockwool missing. It wasn't empty, but a lot was gone. After inspection, I noticed that where the rockwool gets hot ( around the perforated tubes ) the fibres are becoming very f
