  2. We know Domestic 100 went out there in 1981. It was in pretty poor condition. This may be it after restoration. A few details are wrong like the top of the seats and the "world champion" decals on the door. It's also missing the decal around the badge on the nose. RoW 022 went to Thailand but that has a black leather interior now.

  5. That's not VVT pipe, it is one of the oil cooler pipes, so you're on your own with that. Be thankful it hasn't failed in spectacular fashion and cost you an engine. It goes over to a union at the RH sill, so not too hard to DIY, depending on how familiar you are with a spanner. Dave

  9. Let's be honest though, it ain't just Lotus who could be finding parts in short supply. The world, in general, have come to rely so heavily on China for supply of manufactured parts, that we will be seeing shortages in many areas of our lives until China gets back to work and waiting for parts on a Lotus will be the least of our worries. Because of my age and minor health issues I, too, am very much in the 'at risk' sector of society but am I worried about the CV? No, not at all! As I always have, I will be taking due notice of advice given re hygiene etc, but life must go on. I'm very mu

  10. Hello With much reluctance, I'm selling the set of Lotus World magazines I've collected over the past eighteen months. If you are interested, the listing can be found on Ebay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184202635660 Please Note: Volume 1, Issue 1 (April 1982) has been printed double sided on A3 paper from a PDF document, but all other 95 issues are genuine and original. They are in Good to Excellent, fully readable condition, with all pages intact. I am also open to offers if you would like to buy them from me direct. The reason for the sale is to fund

  11. Well I will have to repeat the water thermostat test. Im not sure the valve is opening far enough, now I have discussed it with Andy. Apparently it needs to be boiled for at least five minutes. Andy has lent me his old one to test and see how they compare. I have come to the conclusion because these cars are 40 years old you must assume all parts are suspect and test them extensively before refitting them. The extra time for this is very well spent and most of the tests are easy. The thermostt, although made in England, is used on Mercedes cars. The original stst opens at 82 degrees

  12. If they had sold them all don’t you think that even Lotus’s marketing department might consider doing something to celebrate the fact, if not shout it from the rooftops? Pretty sure Uncle Bibs would know about it too. It would be the best possible news for the company at this time, not something you would keep quiet about.

  13. Had I not bought mine you would have had a sale as prefer the oringinal design shape and without doubt a stunning colour, I am smitten with my LE and colour but yours tips those boxes as always been a sucker for blue since my Mediterranean blue Excel SE which we did 20k in with our beautiful Dalmatian who laid on those wide inner sills This was a Suberb Lotus and would have back like a shot if ever for sale CNZ 3788 Still the Evora is equal in drivers dream motoring and as much fun. 15. Hey folks, Due to change of job/location, I am now a train commuter and paying for two cars that I don’t drive instead of one on top of an extortionate train fare. Therefore, I will be saying goodbye to my beloved Lotus Evora S and going down to one car Posted the ad on PistonHeads today. 17. This set of rubber hoses was replaced (under TSB) on other Toyota 2GR-FE vehicles because of this very problem. Their solution was to remove all the rubber hose components and replace them with solid metal ones. I actually bought the necessary parts to accomplish this, but never got around to doing it on mine, since the oil has to be drained first, and it's much easier to access this area from the rear seat access hole. I've attached the Toyota TSB for reference. I had also created a thread about these potential Toyota TSBs and how applicable they would be to our 2GR-FE-driven cars

  18. I do love a funky interior and always seek out something different if given the choice. Ultimately, it is the car that counts and you soon forget the colour inside or out, if the car is engaging to drive and own. I remember buying my Twingo 133, despite what I thought was a rubbish interior. Adore it now. OK, not GT3 money but you get the point. Justin

  19. Just picking up on this comment, Porsche calipers come in 2 colours, red for steel, yellow for ceramic. Its not an option to change the colour unfortunately. KennyN will confirm that I too hated the colour combo when I first saw it in pictures. I have to say, it has completely grown on me and actually works in the flesh. I wouldnt have chosen it but I dont mind it now. There is/was another Miami sat with Colchester Porsche, that has a Miami cage, yellow belts and silver stripes. Some may argue it blends well but i think it looks like an accident at the skittles factory

  23. If you get to drive an Evora, an immediate simple test for which gear set fitted: Get into top gear, and see if the road speed is 27.5 mph per 1000 rpm (CR), or 37.5mph (original cars, but not given to the road testers). So at 2,000 rpm, either 55mph or 75mph. Yes, that much difference - no mistaking! Be careful: I've had a dealer give me a car for road test, telling me it was a CR. It wasn't and the test was extremely brief!

  26. I could not have said that better myself... this is more of less what i do every time i fit a new set of liners.. It is always best to dial in the deck to make sure that is consistent first. This will require a skilled engine machinist with the correct equipment. once you have the measurements asses from there. The tolerances are given to allow for variants in manufacture , but with the above set up checks and the swapping around of any variables , 9 time out of 10 you can get well inside spec off the bat.. If you are going to the trouble of using a skilled engine

  27. I thought they were reminiscent of older gen Ferraris to be honest. See what you mean though. Still like the 12c design, it's very much like the S1 Evora, clean and unfussy.

  30. Measure all your liners in a single bore, to allow you to accurately measure their size relative to each other. Then repeat the process using only one of the liners in each bore of the block - again to measure each bore relative to each other. Repeat for each of the 2 rotational positions that the liner can be fitted in. Then order the liners from shortest liner to shallowest bore etc and redo your measurements. A couple of other things to consider: A straight edge and feeler guages is unlikely to give you the accuracy you need. Use a dial guage. Also, bear in mind th

  36. Mine was fitted and I did the full run in procedure exactly as defined but, quickly got the mentioned error codes, left bank or right bank running lean. Car then gets limited to 5500 revs max. I could clear it with my obd, but the problem needed to be sorted fast and it was , with Alias dealing with the problem very quickly, after some decent research on the subject. I was sent a new air filter to fit that week, which has the same area overall area but 'might' be slightly more restrictive. Personally I think its a looks and feels better quality the foam ITG. 46. Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to finally be a part of the Lotus family. Picked up my 2018 Evora 400 last week. It came in bespoke Kawasaki Green with matching interior stitching. I absolutely love it. Definitely a head turner. Right now I’m still getting through the first 1000 mile break in and trying to find a solution for a cup holder hahaha. I’m also trying to find out the actual paint code for touch ups if and when I need them. I looked in the maintenance log book and they just wrote “Kawasaki Green” and the label under the passenger side carpet doesn’t have a numb

  47. Very nice! Congrats. Kawasaki Green is one of the rarest colors available. I had a 2017 in Kawi Green and the certificate of provenance said it was the only one of that color shipped to the states in 2017.
