  1. I didn't use the esprit much lately and because an old Esprit that doesn't drive is destined to fail, I thought it is better to start using it again, so here we go . Lets start with small neighbourhood blasts , after a proper warm up of course. What always amazes me when driving it , is how quick and nimble it steers in and out of bends on B roads at speeds between 60 and 100km/u And it is such a dramatic shape. I have it for many years now and it keeps me wanting to turn around and look at it when I walk away. Also I keep getting tumbs up. 2020 20200606_133713 by gvygvy,

  3. I’ve been busy! Just need to test the gear change, fill up the fluids and do another oil pressure rest plugs out. Frustratingly I have installed everything except the turbo boost pipe. I am missing one olive! Pete at PNM has done an outstanding job on the wastegate. New valve is in and its a great fit, really smooth operation. I tested the working pressure of the wastegate using a pressure.gauge and a compressor. It starts to move at 5.5 PSI and is fully open at 8.5. The only problem is when it starts to move is not when it begins to open as it is compressed in the wastegate. I thought

  4. Started putting back the snake’s wedding that is an S4s engine loom. I can’t help but think there’s a simpler solution, not that I’m about to rip it all out and start again. Trying to run the wiring where it wants to go with the least strain, I made some good progress, and there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I thought I’d better see whether it could make oil pressure before I got too much further, so out came the spark plugs, fuel relay, and crank sensor. Thought I’d cheat and use jump leads on the battery, but I couldn’t get a decent enough connection to turn the starter, so the batt

  5. Hi everyone.. I'm looking forward to driving the car again (once i have somwhere to go) - if not this year then next. ..and if I can't get out this year, then I figured I can do a few jobs during the downtime, just a few mini projects to pass the time.. One of these projects, and the first to be completed, was to fit a GT4 wing. I originally had started planning a purchase, and researched paintshops etc, then out of the blue, one appeared on an auction site for reasonable money, so I decided to give it a go. A few days later it arrived, but needed some work to put righ

  6. Just seen a clip on Facebook, they’re now throwing bottles at our officers and their horses. Two weeks ago we all clapped for our emergency services. This isn't about racism or police brutality in America, it’s the usual demonstrations taken over by extremists whose only intent is to knock the system. Our country seriously needs to get a grip. There can never be a politically correct justification for breaking the law. There can never be a selective approach to the application of the rule of law.

  8. @advantage - I fear that in your rush to apologise for your position of white privilege you are in danger of missing the point, and indeed, looking silly! Firstly. I am struggling, on again reading through this thread, to find a PoV expressed to justify the treatment of this human being and the very sad outcome. I'm also struggling to see anyone trying to justify or defend the actions of the Police involved So I believe I am on very safe ground when I say we are all shocked and appalled by what has occurred. Secondly, you seem to be focusing on racism as a white on black issue. This

  9. Mines off to it's new owner tomorrow it was an agreed sale just before lockdown; now things are relaxed he's collecting in the morning. It's a little cheaper than originally agreed but in all honesty I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of going through all the calls/inquiries/viewings again. It's a sale of necessity due to a change in job, properly sad to see it go, of all my cars I've owned in the last 20 years it's easily in the top 3. For all those looking to buy.....DO IT!

  10. Hi Gents, Car has been sold back to Lotus now and will eventually become part of their museum after a very light sympathetic restoration as well as use for some marketing and publicity purposes. It was a great car to own, but having it for nearly 10 years it was time to move it on and so glad to see it is going back to where it belongs...back home.

  13. As long as : the correct tyre size or equivalent circumference ratio is under 2% At least, the minimum load index for the axle The minimum speed index for the tyreline Are in line with Homologation And, for the same axle, the Tyres have the same Brand and Tyre line (winter or summer) you're fine with insurance. Doesn't matter if it's a BMW or Mercedes spec Tyre (this will only affect vehicle handling in a good or a bad way) or if it's 99 instead of 94 in load index or Y instead of V for speed index (as long as the value is always equal or higher than stated by t

  17. Ah, so because someone has a past history for which they've served their time it's ok to murder them? Is that the logic you're going for? I hope not as it's a fairly lame excuse. The police still don't have a mandate to murder, even in the USA. Your argument falls at the first hurdle, but I don't really understand why you're even attempting to defend the actions of the police involved in this incident. The All Lives Matter is mantra is just white whining and whining from a position of privilege brought about by nothing more significant than skin colour. Aren't you fortunate to be able t

Even with face masks which wont do a lot there is a lot of close contact there for a number of hours. 30. Got both the oil coolers off the car this morning. Given the horror stories I've read/been told about disconnecting the oil cooler lines from the coolers I'm counting my lucky stars today that they all undid without a fight I don't know if the liberal coating of Plus Gas over the past week had anything to do with it or not. The drivers side oil cooler seems to have had a 90 degree elbow fitted to its bottom union, but I'm not sure why that is. Pretty sure its not supposed to be there, but that corner has taken a knock at some stage because all the ducts are missing from that side. It al

  32. At what point in any of my posts above have I said it’s ok to murder folks ? I’m confused as I most certainly haven’t. The logic you are using here is very common. Actually though more and more it’s black privilege which is prevalent with BAME only shortlists for some jobs. Is that right? White privilege - ive heard this argument many times. Explain that to my neighbour in the rented property whos never worked a day in his life. Explain it to the young white girls whom have been sexually exploited by cultural gangs? I honestly couldn’t care less about the colour of someone’s skin - it’s

  35. Nonsense comment and reply teetering on the Tommy Robinson level of idiocy. Can neither of you not see the not-so-subtle difference between the two incidents? Lee Rigby's extremist killers were caught, tried and imprisoned for life (min 45 years) within a handful of months of the attack. Investigation of his death was swift and thorough. Although it won't bring him back or offer even a tiny piece of solace to his family, (legal) justice was served. Floyd was killed by policemen who weren't even going to face any significant disciplinary action least of all a trial for their actions until

  36. Thanks to Pete at PNM my wastegate is fully rebuilt with a brand new valve.it should arrive tomorrow. I seem to have lost the bottom plate on one engine mount! I have been working really hard and its just the exhaust system and Turbo left to do. A new Mocal oil cooler and thermostat to test. I have read the Lotus manual method of filling coolant. I plan to follow it and see if the coolant boils over is because of a faulty thermostat. The oil has drained out of the Turbo pipe and theres probably no graphogen in the pump. I suspect this won’t make any difference this time to getting oil p

France - oh, it's Tuesday, then it must be another protest and riot about nothing really in particular and lots of innocents get hurt China - well, they use the cotton gloves and fluffy feather cotton dusters to suppress their rioters Germany - police brutally, water cannon, tear gas and rubber bullets. Oooh. Lovely. UK - Plenty of riots after an armed gangster, with a rap sheet as long as your own, got shot. Plenty innocents got injured, and Police, oh and

  42. I just think the whole hysterical global reaction thing is completely out of proportion with what took place. One man was pinned down by a policeman and tragically died as a result. Take it to Court and get justice. That’s what the judicial system is for. Are we going to have mass demonstrations every time someone around the world is killed? What about the 388,616 people who have died globally so far from CV-19, thanks to whatever was allowed to happen in Wuhan? Why no demonstrations about that?

Dash is going back to Aim so hope to get it back soon. I also want a full system flush aswel to use racing oil, coolant and brake fluid (open for suggestions!). FLuids haven't changed since I got the car and I've done a few trackdays so it's time to do so. Also installed the SRP Exige racing pedals for better heel-toe action. Looks pretty good I must say!
