  2. The ones I feel really sorry for are the people we invited over here with the windrush who lived here for a life time now told to go back. Whilst those who broke in uninvited get a right to stay. The way we have treated those people is shameful.

  3. Hi everyone I'm new to the forum having bought my first Esprit - an '87 HCITurbo - right at the start of the pandemic. It's a low mileage car, that spent much of its life sitting still in collections - not what Chapman intended IMHO. I've replaced all the obvious belts and hoses and she's running well enough to daily drive in rotation with my Plus 2. Reading the forum, I see the Citroen box is a significant weak point, and as I intend to use the car as much as possible, I wondered if there is any advice on preventing wear and damage to the box? A specific oil or additive? Also a

  4. Andy, you are missing 2 vital points 1. UK politicians, unlike their Australian counterparts, have no backbone strong enough to deal with the situation 2. At the risk of being racist, the French politicians are just being ................well,.....................French

  5. As we step into the new world and had the opportunity to see the Evija in the flesh i am sure a Lotus and Geely as timed this epic car introduction spot on and what looks like good order books and a firm delivery date, unlike most of its rivals including the T.50. Believe me function can go hand in hand with beauty, the Evija delivery’s this in bucket loads.

  6. That’s one of the big appeals of motorsport. In football, if Man City are 3-0 up with 10 minutes left you know they’re going to win. In F1, if a Mercedes leads by 30 seconds with 5 laps left you know anything can still happen.

  8. As I understand it, prior to the Immigration acts of the 1960s ALL Commonwealth citizens had the right to travel to the UK visa free, work settle down etc.. People would come and go as they liked and there was no need to "claim asylum" - like my previous example. However during the 1960s a number of acts were passed in parliament to restrict the rights of Commonwealth citizens to this free entry. Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1962 Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1968 Immigration Act 1971 The last one was the nail in the coffin as it gave European Community citizens priorit

  11. It's boring, because it's so corporate. It used to be full of mavericks and mad arsed team owners, now it's sterile and bland. It used to be about racing, now it's just a money machine ( and has been for at least the last 10 years) I don't like Hamilton, he is a great driver, but not a great sportsman, just do not take to him. All the BLM issue whilst driving for company that benefited from slave labour, in a sport that happily visits countries with horrendous human right records, but not a word said. The engineering and team work is amazing, but it all lacks..........fun.

  12. Most of us use Redline MT-90 GL4/GL5. Per Harry above, overfill by 1/2 liter. I had failed crownwheel carrier bearings cause a noise, that ended up costing a new ring & pinion 40,000 miles). 35K miles after that, the dreaded input shaft circlip failed. One squeak and 15 miles later it stripped the splines. There are folks experienced in Citroen trans rebuilding in California. Meanwhile, drive the car at least weekly to preserve the Bosch K-Jetronic injection system.

  17. Andy, I followed your lead with the electroluminescent panel and it looks great. Very even illumination and the panel looks like I’ve never seen it before. So far so good. The downside is that I have a slight radio buzz that’s caused by the converter. I understand that it’s a DC to AC converter that drives the panel. Did you do any modifications to yours? A Diode added perhaps?

  27. First check as @CarBuff stated , easy to check.. From experience the translator goes sloppy when used rather than tight, but still worth a check ... If you have old cables fitted they could be binding , causing your issues... Again easy to check... just disconnect at the translator and move the gear leaver in neutral orientation.. To be fair if your gear section movement is free then cross gate / neutral should be as they share the movement.. However there are other area's that can influence cross gate movement not related to cables or translator.. The first is the leaver mechanism itse

  29. Agreed. It's politics of hate dressed up as Nationalism. I have no problem with anyone being "proud" of their country. But I do hate Nationalism and in my mind the SNP and the EDL etc are all cut from the same cloth irrespective of how they try to dress themselves up (or not as in the EDL's case). I think I'm equipped to have a balanced view on this (what, balanced did I say). Why is that? Well my mother is Scottish and so that side of the family. I've lived in Scotland for the past 25 years. I have 2 kids born in Scotland so they are Scottish (the other was 1 when she

  31. Sometimes it can be processional but I still enjoy watching the masterclass of the better drivers and then you might also get some of the clowns doing cock-ups. Then you can also get the non-racing drama like will the tyres explode and who can get away with it? Was it luck or was it skill?

  32. Just FYI for someone incurring the same issue. Dealer was able by handyworks to only cut through the front bolt (rusted and all) and replaced the innerworks of the fan with the new one and mounted it back. Bearing of the old one was totally done.. Still a pricy job for just a stupid not so expensive fan as it took three hours to get it right but at least no clam off job and all that comes with it to get to the fan saving me hundreds more...

  35. MotoGP is very predictable - Marc Marquez is going to win (unless he has a broken arm). F1 has been here before not so long ago. The 2018 Haas was a direct copy of the 2017 Ferrari (the fastest car of 2017) - They bought everything they could from Ferrari and designed the car in the Ferrari wind tunnel. They happily admitted that it was a direct copy. The paddock muttered about it but no one protested because it wasn’t terribly successful. This is all about a bunch of midfield teams being pissed off that someone came up with something better than them, led by Renault - a manufacturer

Cyprus has rejected the Canada/EU trade agreement over halloumi. https://cyprus-mail.com/2020/08/04/talks-to-begin-with-parties-after-rejection-of-ceta/ So they need to vote again as they didn't understand what they were voting against - that sounds familiar - although "Last Friday, parliament voted by 37 against and 18 for the treaty; there were no abstentions." is a lot bigger majority than 52/48.

  42. It’s just like the McLaren Senna designed for no compromise on performance over looks and with that it is lacking and anyone saying it’s a good looking car need there eyes testing. Is it as good looking as the Evija and as fast, let’s be honest it’s not in the same league. Yes I get it’s from the great Gordon Murray and it as a Normally aspirated combustion engine but we move into a new era automotive technology sorry but it will look outdated even before the first car is delivered to its first customer in what they say a few years time.

  43. I blame you @mik ! Since reading your post above, I spent the rest of the weekend looking for a decent SD1 Vitesse to add to my 'collection'. Not found one yet but I'm sure there's one out there with my name on it. My only regret is that I should never have sold the cracker of an example I owned in the mid to late 80s, .
