  1. Had a good look over Essex #006 yesterday. Very, very clean! Also interesting belt tensioner mods, superbly executed, but may return it to original to refit aircon .

  2. This post was approved by @Bibs before anyone asks 😁 Good evening everyone, I've recently started a reverse engineering business focused around faithful reproduction of legacy autoparts, called Novorota. With the help of some incredibly kind people on this forum we've managed to get our first products into production, this is an incredible community! We would like to offer you our billet machined rear hub carriers for S1/S2/S2.2 and S4/V8 models. The hubs will be made out of Aluminum 6061-T6. We took incredibly detailed 3D scans of C082D4142K and F079D4001F parts and recreated t

  4. @Gordon S and I managed to get out to Silverstone on Monday, we were blessed with good weather, and I managed to achieve better performance with the new setup. Very happy and for sure the new wing really does make the car can't stop looking at the rear lol

  5. The S350 and red race are not identical apart from 1st gear. The red race full transient boost in all gears - no restrictions. The S350 still has some boost limitation, although allowing higher boost than in lower gears than the stock ECU. Here you can see the differences and also the reason for the warning. The last graph is the red race ECU.

  6. Disagree, but we rarely see eye to eye on the details. Obama will be remembered with fondness especially compared to the Trump years which will be seen as ushering out the last of America's integrity and any remaining moral authority we might have had. As has been mentioned, Trump's economy, the thing he claims for himself, rides on the back of Obama's successes. These days it's a major achievement to leave office with the respect of the people that voted you in. Obama achieved that. Who in Europe will achieve that today? Will Boris? Well, by one measure GB is not really Europe anymore

  7. @PaulCP I do despair at the presenters/reporters and so called journalists. My understanding is that the £60m the government offered Mr. Burnham was the same amount (per citizen) as Liverpool and the other areas were offered. So why not ask the tough question of Mr. Burnham and ask "Mr. Burnham, it would seem the £60m offered is absolutely in line, based on value per citizen, with the "deals" provided to Liverpool and other places in the same position. Can you explain why you think Manchester should be given a better settlement to anyone else?" Not a hard question for an investigative jou

  8. This is one part of your post that I’m afraid I don’t agree with. Unfortunately I think that we have proved time and time again that there are (significant) elements of society that seem to be completely incapable of independent thought. Or indeed any thought at all and will believe anything and everything that their followers/people they follow put on Twatter.

  12. The difference is that the 360 Stradale and Challenge Cup cars were designed to be able to cope with the additional power. You are flirting with the idea of challenging your stock transmission to see if it breaks!! You should probably read that back to yourself in order to guide your decision.

  13. yes indeed @Bazza 907 I had to re-read that myself. Perhaps he could get some mechanicals done for that price. @LOTUSMAN33 I dare say it wont be leaving for a while! I don't think any sized cheque will stop it leaving eventually though.. I'm sure @Bazza 907understands. 😉

  14. Well Obama's administration did help the US economy recover from its worst recession in almost 80 years. Under Trump it continued to recover at only the same rate despite Trump taking the credit. Obama's administration introduced the affordable care act allowing millions to access health care that hitherto would have been denied them. He took steps with the Dream act to address the plight of illegal immigrants in the US. It reduced the defecit. It saw the legalisation of same-sex marriage and allowed homosexuals to be acknowledged in the armed forces. Osama bin Laden was killed under his

  15. I'd forgotten about this thread, but this am I decided to hose down the Evora before putting it away in the barn. Mrs Bruss remarked how good the car looked and I said something about all the girls say so, it's my chick magnet etc. Two minutes later out new post girl pulled up and got out of the van with a broad smile and exclaimed it's a Lootus (French) and drooled all over it . Mrs Bruss pretended not to notice. 🙂

  16. Now its well known on this forum that my other half detests the Evora and in my 2-3 yr of ownership we have one major weekend trip and about a half dozen short trips to shops however last Sunday went to B&Q so I had to drive Evora and knew it was going to be uncomfortable journey with all the screams and moans that I was going to get as I drove too noisy and too fast (ie 50mph) on dual carriageway I was shocked to hear her pointing out as we pulled into a Aldi car park that she saw a dad with his young son in pushchair almost fall over with excitement as we drove past them.

  17. Hi Guys, My S1 is currently in the paint shop being prepared for paint. The guys there have installed the front light pods and bonnet and the gap at the front edge of the bonnet seems a bit too big. There doesn't seem to be a way around it though, if we make the gap any smaller it will hit when it opens. Does this look fairly normal for a single headlight S1 ?

  24. It does look much better with the black bumpers and sits well, like you these cars become quite familiar after 25 years of following adverts, club meets, forums and ownership. I’m not a fan of the 80’s added sunroofs but certainly nothing that can’t be fixed. I would get those mirrors painted black as well. Dave

  27. I suspect many said the same about Porsche with the Cayenne when it piggy backed on the Touareg / Q7 platform - it didn't do them any harm. As regards what Lotus could do on their own - absolutely nothing. They don't have a suitable platform of their own and couldn't afford to design one never mind make it.

  28. Here’s a Dry Sump that I’ve had pictures of, for 10 years.....but had forgotten all about. I thought it was maybe the one mentioned above currently on eBay.....but it’s not, and as we know now it’s a Wet Sump. I made enquiries about the one below when it was for sale, but not heard or seen anything about it since. Anyone else know the car?

  33. The flight time on the Mini is more than on my I2, it's much lighter so size doesn't correlate to flight time. They are small though in terms of motors. While I've seen over 80mph from the I2 (with a tail wind, max speed in still air is just under 60mph), you'll struggle to see over 25mph on the Mini as the motors and props are much smaller. This does have an effect on wind resistance and if there's a strong breeze, you could find your Mini going backwards rather than forwards when trying to get it back - always fly upwind first! 34. Yes - that’s my understanding. Lotus had issues with the driveshafts twisting and spiralling. Along with primary shafts turning into expensive jigsaw puzzles

  38. Thanks for the replies all. Peegee355 sent you a PM. au-ty. Quite a few about sub £50k if you are willing to do a deal it seems. Spoke to a dealer who has one up for £46k and would be willing to do a deal at £44k with a fresh lotus service as sat for a bit but not ideal colour combo for me. Another who has had the same 410 for sale for close to 2 years and willing to drop £5k. I looked at it but was put off buy it being sat for 2 years. I think if I was getting really close to the £50's I would plump the he extra £10-£15k to get into a 410 sport as the budget is flexible and win

  39. I am genuinely shocked this has been removed! A calm educated discussion and its removed for violating terms! Not being able to question the mainstream narrative doesn't help anyone. Shutting down discussion makes me wonder why? Truth doesn't need defending. Arguments for and against are all valid. Im guessing your daughter has given you insights which maybe opposed to my own thoughts but I for sure would like to hear them. I am a cynical bugger but am happy to concede if I know im in the wrong. Its how our society should work. At the moment the vid is still up on bitchute.

  40. I used to own this lotus some years ago, I found it in a garage near Mersey island and brought it home to Cambridge and did some work on it to get it running and I used it as my wedding car the wheels are very rare as I found out when I had an issue with them but they are correct for the year. And I managed to put the original number plate back on it had a private plate and the original is close to the lotus in the bond film.

  42. This covid isolation period has resulted in a heap of jobs done round the house, loads of stuff work related completely avoided and plenty of alcohol drunk. Yesterday I started having a bit of a clear up and sort out - one huge bonfire lit. This morning it carried on and through most of the day - it’s incredible just how much stuff was stacked and piled here and there. The newly sowed grass had its first hard cut - I will reseed it a bit more - it’s not the best time of year but I’ll whack some more on anyway. my buddy is lined up to do a load more post and rail fencing which will de

  44. 😂😂🤣 That quote made me laugh hard. I can relate to your love "affaire". I do use mine less than I would like, but this year I have taken it out as often as I could, both on my own, with Club Lotus France (to Schwarzwald) and with the Luxembourgish club on a few shorter runs in Luxembourg's excellent b roads. I can go as fast as anyone else on the road and then cruise back on the highway in full comfort, perfectly fresh. I always come back home firmly in love. Nothing beats the Evora for me. So much so that this year's trip to Schwarzwald was the maiden "car weekend" for my girlfrien

  45. Oliver would like to send his profound thanks for the pictures you have submitted. I put together a 20 picture Photobook which he received on Saturday morning and is absolutely thrilled with it. I am actually going to send two volumes; the first contained mainly Elite and Eclat pictures, and the second (which I will order this week) will contain predominantly Excels. When I have time, I’ll post both collections on here so you can see them. A quick update on his situation - he is moving home on Thursday now that he can obtain the care he needs, about which he is very pleased. Tha

  46. Lotus decided not to push the envelop on the gearbox from a reliability, but it doesn't mean the gearbox can't take a bit more, the question is how much were they willing to bet on the gearbox being able to last. The gearbox provider, Aisin, rated the gearbox at a maximum at 450nm at 6600 rpm... Lotus hence fitted a gearbox oil cooler to keep it from going too high in temps and managed to get 450 at 7000 rpm, obviously it gets the job done... But Lotus is not Komotec, they want to retain the warranty they get from Aisin. if Aisin only warrants the gearbox till 450, then logically Lotus
