  5. I’ve never looked at this thread before, so thought it high time I told you what really makes me unhappy everyday. Leggings. Saggy, baggy, ugly leggings. Why do women still wear them?

  6. My S4s has had a messed up grill for a while now. I finally got around to fixing it by glueing a piece of ABS plastic under the lip to straighten it out. Now I need to figure out the grill, and the lower Lip. Looking for options. Before After

  8. Surprise, surprise: it was cold and raining when the press came to visit! Apart from that, it looks like it’s going to be a really nice place to work. Very impressive.

  14. Yes they did. The early cars have a hinge like something off a garden gate but the later cars had a much more elaborate hinge.

  15. Funny you should say that as my wife says exactly the same about my cars I’ve used those Gliptone things in! I, on the other hand, think it’s a rather pleasant aroma. It’s clearly just a female thing to not like the smell.

  16. Hussah !!! New fuel sender float arrived, new gasket already here - no lost nuts/bolts, and renovated, free moving sender tested, installed and working - Yipee - a personal milestone Now I have to work out the evaporation rate of fuel - as I now have less than 1/2 a tank(s). 😉 My thanks to everyone whose advice and guidance helped me.

  17. Buddsy, now I've seen the full video again (thanks for the link) I can't really comment on Fuellmich's claims about the way the PCR test was developed. My daughter says that they have a lot of 'false negatives' - i.e they are treating people with COVID symptoms that do not test positive. Similarly, as Fuellmich also says, there are 'false positives.' What we end up with is a test that isn't very reliable. It's a joke to call positive tests 'cases,' because in the early stages of the pandemic, 'cases' were people presenting with symptoms. These simply cannot be compared to the definition being used today, so those charts that show the curve of 'cases' now compared to earlier in the year are almost as misleading as the 'graph of doom' presented by Whitty and Vallance that said we'd have 50,000 cases (i.e. positive tests) per day by mid-October. She tells me that patients do present with symptoms that are unique to COVID - the way serious 'flu patients, for example, present is quite different, so doctors can diagnose it positively. They can now treat it much more effectively so what used to be called the case/fatality ratio is significantly lower. Also, recent statistics show that nationally deaths from respiratory diseases are tracking historically normal levels, with COVID simply replacing many fatalities from 'flu and pneumonia. If you haven't come across them, I'd recommend the 'Planet Normal' podcasts which critically analyse the government's responses to the Pandemic. They make you laugh as well. Cheers, Richard

  21. Looks good to me. I think the nice things about the white cars is that the panels are outlined by the gaps. Sort of defines then. Then you have my black car. Same gaps. Not visible.

  22. I went for a drive last night with my Esprit and to be honest, I realized that there is not much point in having more power/torque in first gear... Each time I would step off the traffic lights I would smoothly accelerate till 4000 rpm and shift to second gear.. If I had more power in first, maybe something bad might happen to the transmission.. Starting to warm up to the 350 Sport mapping..

  24. @C8RKHThe look on Burnham’s face last night when he thought the £60m was off the table & all he was getting was the £22m was priceless, almost a “oh sh!t, I’ve fcuked up” As a northerner myself (wife also) I also despair of the brainwashed attitude of some of those MPs. I spoke to my sister today and Sue spoke to her parents who all live in South Yorkshire and it was interesting to hear their thoughts on why cases in the area have risen. I won’t repeat them on here though! It just shows how the standard of politics in this country has declined when MPs, Mayors etc are happy to play politics with peoples lives for their own gratification. I’m afraid constructive is not a word that any of them have heard of

  26. This is one part of your post that I’m afraid I don’t agree with. Unfortunately I think that we have proved time and time again that there are (significant) elements of society that seem to be completely incapable of independent thought. Or indeed any thought at all and will believe anything and everything that their followers/people they follow put on Twatter.

  32. You're all right, of course, which are the issues that I am trying to solve. I first replaced the industrial revolution bulbs with LEDs all round and the difference (while better) was still a single point of light almost lost in a sea of coloured plastic. The plastic reflective interior of the cups does indeed become dull and peels. Mine were rubbish, but hardly surprising after 40 years. So the idea of light reflecting about, even from LEDs bulbs does not have the effect that it once would have, or should. So, that's why I am getting these banks of LEDs made up. The lit areas are huge, so why not make use of it, is my thinking. Plus, I am getting the PNM LED headlamps fitted at the front as well as some (made for the Mini) LED PCBs fitted to the front bumper lights (my side repeaters are already LED). All this I will post up on my S2 Restomod thread, once they're all done (which will then mean that the car will be finished). The pictures below do not (NOT) show what the lights will look like. These are mockups that I made to confirm that they would fit, both in the lenses etc and back onto the car, before I ordered the PCBs. But, they give some idea to what I'm thinking. What I have learned is that the solution to lights is not lighting, but electronic. Boom.

  34. @Sparky is actually starting to freak me out a bit! So this morning wake up sun is out so I decide to take the TE to the office, dress in full Sergio Tacchini track suit, Borg Elite Trainers, a gold belcher (9 carat) and a wad of 20's. Phone in hand wander out, 5 pumps of the peddle, starts first time, check oil pressure, perfect, leave it for 5mins to warm through, clutch in, select first! Well no I couldn't select any gear at all. Go back in change into jeans and a t'shirt stick a fiver in my pocket and take the van. Arriving at work I text the Watford Exotic Customer Care Line and get informed the warranty last for 12 Months, happy days! But also in the small print it says that or the end of his road (his words not mine). So we agree upon the return from work I shall FaceTime him to show him the problem. It takes a while to get through, I am not sure if this is due to Covid or the number of complaints. Amazingly the CEO answers, we have a small argument about the warranty but he claims that Watford Exotic Psychic division maybe able to help. At this point I am sceptical!! By the way i had checked it when I had got back from work, still unable to select any gears. WEPD ask me to start the car, I do still no gears, now this bit i genuinely wish i was making up! Show me the gearstick and show me what is happening, I angle the phone, "can you see it? " reply "yep", I push it across the gate and straight in first, then second etc. All perfect!! Test drive absolutely nothing wrong with it. Just awaiting the inevitable invoice to land. This i believe has happened 3 times so far for various different problems including a totally dead car. Mystic (f&*king wierdo) Sparkles tells me that they maybe able to offer cam belt changes from 2021 using this service I thank you MR Dan E

  36. Lotus decided not to push the envelop on the gearbox from a reliability, but it doesn't mean the gearbox can't take a bit more, the question is how much were they willing to bet on the gearbox being able to last. The gearbox provider, Aisin, rated the gearbox at a maximum at 450nm at 6600 rpm... Lotus hence fitted a gearbox oil cooler to keep it from going too high in temps and managed to get 450 at 7000 rpm, obviously it gets the job done... But Lotus is not Komotec, they want to retain the warranty they get from Aisin. if Aisin only warrants the gearbox till 450, then logically Lotus would not produce a gearbox outside this frameset... Even if as we know Lotus puts its own gear ratios in the BG6 UNIT, I believe they have an agreement with Aisin so that they still get some form of limited warranty on the case. Now with support from Geely they have the money and free reins to work with Aisin on removing this limitation and essentially creating and warranting a bespoke version of the BG6 for Lotus The only thing it takes is some R&D and a whole lot of testing in order to ascertain that the gearbox will last a million mile ; and an order book big enough to justify the upfront investment, knowing that this gearbox will pretty much only be used on Lotus products in the future as Volvo has gone entirely 8 speed auto at the top end, Geely, and Lynk and Co are either using 6 speed auto or 7 speed DCT on their top end models.

  38. And actually @LotusLeftLotusRight you forgot about the camel toe effect on most women who wear them. It's traumatising. That in a nutshell is why they wear them. A competition between all young woman (discount strange men and those who are obese) to see who can wear the tightest.
