  3. So, time to summarize seven years of Evora ownership. We bought the car in March 2014, an ex demonstrator at Lotus Gothenburg. By then it had 5,000 km on the odometer. The car was one of two Evora that they bought for the showroom in 2012 when they opened their business. We sold the car in July this year. By then we had driven it 100,000 km. That included one trip to Italy and two to UK. Some 20 track days and a lot of other local events. Plus using it as daily driver during the Summer. By then the car looked like this. Various upgrades and modifications included a full L

  4. Hi everyone, Not sure if this has been covered before (I couldn't find anything) but my Evora had one sidelight much dimmer than the other and I managed to fix it. Everything I found online suggested either sending the unit off, or trying to split it in half and then replace the whole LED module with this for £230. It turns out you can do everything from the back of the light without dismantling it at all. Remove the light unit from the car (jack it up, remove wheelarch liner, unscrew, pull out backwards) Pull off the rubber bung for replacing the headlight bulb T

  6. @LOTUSMAN33 notice how @Barrykearleypassed over your comment re the missus. The old bugger must be all luvved up! Old houses are great but can be heavy on the repairs/upkeep. But then new houses seem to be built to last the time of the development, so when the builder f**ks off your left with a British Leyland house!

  9. Fridge is right, bumper goes on first, throught the recessed centre hole he describes. So the bumper is held on by a single bolt/screw either side. Then the lens unit goes over the top of the bumper, and screws through the four holes either side of the bumper and into the bodywork. You will work your own way of doing this to avoid using screws into the glassfibre bodywork, as per factory. I used jacknuts in the body.

  16. Hi Everyone, Am new to this forum and have signed up because I'm on the hunt for an Exige S Roadster. I came across this car at Stratton's but it appears it has been for sale for a while, does anyone know anything about it: https://www.strattonmotorcompany.com/listings/2014-lotus-exige-s-premium-roadster/ I have had a search of the forum and could not find any previous posts about the car but please excuse any repetition if the car has been discussed before. Thank you kindly for having me and for any information shared. I am happy to wait for the right car but it must be a

  17. Steve Sounds like you have a good plan. I am really jealous of your roads, were I live is rural and although there are lots of nice drives the condition of our roads is pretty SH1T. Its great to hear that there's enthusiasm for these little cars outside of our small country. Let us know how it goes, if you need any help/info there are some really friendly and knowledgeable guys on this forum who are always happy to help another sufferer of the Lotus syndrome. Tony

  18. @SCMTBCOACH I'm planning to change the TPMS sensors on my Lauch edition next year when I get a set of PS4 tyres fitted all round, so did some research and found these OEM TPMS sensors on Ebay from a supplier in Leicestershire, UK: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383421007489 And non-OE source as well (from Germany), which are cheaper and will proabably do the job for under £100: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383421007489 Elise Shop also has a non-OE alternative that is the most expensive option at £60 per corner + P&P: https://www.elise-shop.com/tyre-pre

  21. Take a closer look at the rear section meeting the rest of the rear 1/4 panel on that '86 on Bring a trailer - it sticks out & looks unfinished & the entire bottom section (from where the strip should be & downwards, basically that belt line) almost looks as though it's all been faded in/out with body filler to wash away the protruding edge of where the black trim/strip used to be. Some are already talking about the integrity it may or may not present in future stress use. That Esprit needs to be sold to someone who will save it from further deviation & experiments that could

  22. So the RR shares dropped 65% this morning to 70p and have recovered slightly back to 80p already which is good. I've got my allocation of 32p ones to buy once the offer comes into my trading account but it looks like a real result so far, its not a million miles off of tripling the rights issue cost! Fingers crossed they end up back to pre-covid levels in a year or two and then I'll really be laughing!

  27. Congrats on the new car and commiserations on the sale of the Evora Stefan. The F-Type's make an epic noise but you know they're not a light car when you're driving one after an Evora! Have fun with it, stick around and we'll look forward to seeing you in another Lotus someday I hope

  30. Hello Steve, Welcome to my world. I have a 97 Elise S1, also had horrendous brake squeal when I got it. It gets really annoying but it does warn other road users and can be used to great effect at scaring cyclists. However, I have spent a bit of time working on my car over the few years I have had her, you can check out some pics in my TLF garage. I have tried pretty much everything at some time. And at times have completely eliminated the squeal but it does occasionaly return only as a much quieter sort of scraping noise which is bearable, I do also have 1 disc which has slight gr

  33. This is correct. The UJ's loosen on X180s and SEs with no power steering. The steering rack was off a Ford Escort Mk 2 / Capri and wasn't designed to turn 215/60/15s. Always turn the steering wheel when the car is moving.
