  1. So just to add an update ... got really close to a 380 purchase, but in the end, the 410’s ‘430 heritage’ was too much to resist and the deal I was offered was ‘just too good to miss’, honest . The principle of Nitron adjustability, remarkable engine response, and the way it sits on the road (tracks will be superb I am sure), it just feels like what I always hoped my garage car would offer. Oh and the wife loved the colour too, so it was a no brainer!

  4. A few more pics as requested. Took it out today for a few miles and is actually more comfortable than my Exige! I'm based in Leeds so if there are any recommendations of local places to help look after the car that would be great.

  5. Hello, just taken delivery of my Evora GT430 in Olive green and I have to say I’m over the moon with it so far. Having owned a Caterham for the past 4 years I’d had some great drives but felt it was time for a change. I started looking for something equally as interesting and exciting but also maintained the rawness and back to basics I’d become accustomed to. Also wanted something a little larger with a better level of security to allow for more everyday usability. Continuing with the theme of a British built specialist car I dropped in to the local showroom and saw this. A

  9. Final update, before I collect the car next week. I spoke to 24-7 and SCS again today and the dyno reading of 0.86 wasn't the final tune. After further tweaks it's running lambda 0.8 which I gather is 11.76 AFR. I've known for ages that the god awful Lotus OEM knock control requires a super rich tune, so with the Delta ECU running the show I'm happy with that fuelling. I absolutely trust these guys, they drive a 600bhp Evora road car also running a charge cooled TVS1900 so they know their stuff. To 24-7 and SCS - I know you will see this post update so thanks for your help and pati

  10. Actually you can. But I understand your point. You won't. It will say British or UK as you won't have a different passport for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The SNP wants to take Scotland back into the EU. They are correct. And this is why the SNP needs to be very careful to make sure that it has a lawful mandate for the Independence Referendum and therefore the result is recognised in International Law. No mandate, no international recognition, no membership to the EU. This is simply because Spain, Italy, France and others will "block" membership as it

  11. When I was about 11, I would frequently cycle to a small village, Thorner (North Leeds) to drool over a white S1 Esprit. One day, whilst the owner was washing it he kindly offered to take me for a drive (different times then!). It was the most amazing experience and I'm sure that day set me on my way to being a petrolhead. As a result I've always wanted a white S1 Esprit and after many years of waiting & looking I've finally taken delivery of this beauty. It has been totally restored by former owner and SJ Sportscars and in my opinion looks superb. To say I'm excited is an

  13. When are you hoping to have it finished @Lot63? Can’t wait to see this one done - it’s great when old press cars reappear Odd that it never had the thick side stripes along the sides.....but was given a coachline - unusual anyway This is surely the same car......

  15. The interior is black leather with half leather seats and standard centre of dash radio, the car has plenty of history which you guys probably know, owned by Lotus and used as a press and exhibition car for its first year of ownership, it was then sold to a submarine commander in 1984, he sold it to a property developer in Newcastle in ‘85, I bought it from him in ‘86 and have owned it ever since, the car has not been used since 1999 which is why it is not showing up as SORN, I have just retired so now have plenty of time to complete what I have started.

  17. Glad your on the road. Brill feeling! 18 months does seem a bit excessive even for an Eclat. I have to change mine on a regular basis but not after 18 months! What make are they? Make sure you get the ones that have a grease nipple and grease them regularly. Happy motoring.

  18. I’ve only managed a short drive to the detailers so far but have to say first thing I’ve noticed is its a very stiff and firm ride. Might have to play about with the damper settings see how that changes the ride. Will also look at the alignment as well Very exciting times though and very much looking forward to some quality time with it. Thanks for that, will have a look at upgrading as it’d be nice to know the facts and figures etc.

  22. On a live, digital tour of the Mercedes Petronas team factories learning all about the cars, seeing how they are built etc, right now. Bloody fascinating and just been looking at the thermal imaging in the front wing to monitor the tyre temps! The attention to detail is mind blowing. The head of aerodynamics has just taken us through the air flow... In a happy as shit pig of pile a. You get the idea... Interesting fact 1 - 25% of the total car downforce generated by the front wing -hence why any damage to the front wing has a very evident effect on the cars performance in the

  24. The hendy map on their web site navigates to the honda dealership. The hendy MG dealer is also on the same estate less than a mile away. Most car manufacturers have representation on the estate, but no longer aston/RR/Bentley. We even have a Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche dealers, had fun the other day driving past with my exhaust button active, made someone look round in the Ferrari dealer.

  25. Yes very big weekend for Bottas, defining maybe? We know that the Mercedes is faster than he can drive it, especially over a full race distance. Let’s hope neither Merc driver has any major problems, so that we can make a fair comparison. Good luck to both.

  35. It's funny but my S90 daily has many of those "little extras" and "electronic gizmos". In the end I just find them irritating/ meh. I 've never thought "oooh, gonna pop into the S90 and can't wait to play with gizmo's". Yes. It's nice to start the car from inside the house on my phone whilst putting my shoes/coat on. Yes it's nice to get in the pre-heated car, with warm seats and a warm steering wheel. Yes it's nice to have DAB, the 55" or whatever tablet in the dash etc. Yes it makes the experience nicer. But does it make me look for an excuse to drive it? No The Evora on the other hand

  41. Having been lucky enough to own JPS S2 Esprit #44 for a few years during the 1980s, the recent rare opportunity to acquire a well preserved JPS proved irresistible, and I picked up #40 from Paul at UK Sports Cars in Kent during September. Preservation tasks undertaken since then include fitting Dunlop Sport Classic 205/70 R14 on the rear axle, fixing a defective passenger door lock and swapping out the original(?) Sharp RG-5850 radio cassette (which had taken to eating tapes) for a similar refurbished player. Next challenges include tackling oil drips, as well as minor electrical and trim
