  1. Andy Graham came back to me today, the car was lagoon blue with brown marcasite and oatmeal cloth. My trimmer has the material as done one before, this was the same interior I had in my other S1 white esprit. Shame I had a pair of the chrome handles but sold them a while back. I think this will look really nice and can’t remember seeing a blue one in the U.K. although Scott Walker had one many years ago. This is how I will eventually restore the car when I do the body off job, for now I have very different plans 😉 Dave

  2. Well, I ended up buying the Blue one, the general condition is very good, with a good service history, its recently (2019) had over 3k spent on various things, including a new AC compressor. I had a checklist I took with me. The only thing that isn't working is the passenger window drop and rise, as you open and close the door. The window mechanism works fine though. The gear change is lovely, rifle bolt like, no problems going in to 2nd! Considering the miles, and being white the interior is in great condition. A nice bonus is, that it does have the Janspeed Lotus sports exhaust, that sounds fantastic, and even managed to return 35mpg on the motorway. The one thing that has amazed me, is how well the car rides, bettwe than my other halfs Astra, not one rattle from the dashboard, or from the suspension, infact, the i8 had more rattles from the dash! Looking forward to many more miles, and will just have to sort out the window.. Here are some pics, clean when I left, and dirty when I got home..

  4. Hi - I have just put down an 'unplanned' deposit for an Exige 410 Sport 20th Anniversary from Oakmere for collection January 2021. In September I visited Oakmere looking to buy a Caterham Seven to replace my Porsche 718 Spyder and whilst waiting to test drive the Seven I asked if i could test drive an Exige. I used to own an Elise S2 which in 2004 I traded in for an Exige S2 which I instantly regretted and soon traded in for a Caterham R400. I was sent out in a Exige 410 Sport and came back with the biggest grin on my face - it was so different to the S2 version I owned. But I as I had gone to buy a Caterham, I stuck to my guns and bought a Caterham 620S as planned. Over the last 2 months, even though I have loved the raw speed of the 620S I could not get that memory of the noise and drive of the 410 Sport out of my mind - going past Oakmere most days didn't help either. So last week, I popped back into Oakmere and after a 2 minute conversation (and a little bit of man-maths) struck up a deal to exchange the 620S for a red 410 Sport 20th Anniversary Exige Oakmere had in stock. This plan lasted for 2 days, as when I went into drop off my 620S it came into conversation that they also had a chrome orange 410 on order for January delivery. So the paperwork was quickly changed and I am now counting down the days to collection. My only slight hic-up is we are in the process of moving house so I may have to delay collection by a couple of weeks. I will spend the next few weeks reading forums and try and not get too excited!!!

  5. I was out for drive and Ringwood was further! Yes, I know that I could have gone even further, but that was a nice distance along A roads (via Salisbury) and meant that I could get home at a reasonable time! OK. So, if your cupboards are bursting with Flacks........... when do we get the invite? I think six of us can meet outside. I have just found out where Flacks is. Th enumber of times I have driven past and not even known it was there! Maybe a visit this afternoon to stock up for Christmas!

  6. Any chance you could entertain my mother for Christmas? It’d save me a lot of hassle. She doesn’t bite like Sparky’s MIL. Thanks mate, I knew I could count on you.

  8. No, the two things ( incubation period, and, COVID-19 related death within 28 days) are completely unrelated. Incubation period is from when you are exposed until the point at which you then yourself are deemed to have the infection. The COVID-19 related death could be almost any time after that, since some people may only be infected for a few days, some may be weeks. Asymptomatic and incubation period are unrelated. Asymptomatic is that you are infected (to an extent that it can be detected) but don't show symptoms of the disease.

  10. Passed a silver Evora S1 with black pack (reg KS10TUS?) on the bend just after the Hepworth Road traffic lights in Woodville heading towards the Clock Garage. I was in my Leon DD driving the other way towards Ashby De La Zouch. Was it the silver N/A IPS that had been for sale at Acorn Group Burntwood around April 2020 site?

  15. I know of 5 people I know this week who have got confirmed Covid, that may rise as there are a few tests awaiting results, first time around during the whole lockdown 2 people. As much as would happily drown Keir Stammer what he said today is correct, you can't trust the public to be sensible (they found 100 odd people in a basement below a hairdressing salon in Soho this week, i mean WTF if just one had it, in there bunch of twunts!!) I have the MIL coming for Christmas Day, she is 91, she is in our support bubble but i am nervous about it, its one f*&king day. I said to her this is totally your decision not ours. The normal big family Christmas at my sisters is cancelled. There will be an absolutely massive spike in Jan and I predict Boris wont survive this! I am going to have another glass of wine

  16. I was thinking worse (more stringent) than that, with national lockdown by late Jan. The Christmas relaxation will have combined with natural stupidity exacerbated by alcohol, and we'll have several areas where hospitals (mainly the critical care parts) don't have enough capacity, that means they move patients to other hospitals but as the nearby ones will also be full, it will be moving to parts of the country with much lower hospitalisation levels. That then leads to "we must protect the NHS" and so national lockdown. Late Jan is based on, mixing starts in earnest 23rd Dec (some will already but focus on the stupid rather than deliberate) and add 1-2 weeks for incubation, so symptomatic infected really ramps up by end 1st week Jan, then those patients health deteriorates over a week or so, give Government half week to decide then give half week's notice. Oh, and Bojo says "I told you small and short, now look what you've done." Not accepting any responsibility for setting high expectations of what will be possible and then a half-hearted partial retraction.

  22. Hi all, Looks like I'm closer to my Evora purchase now! Booked in to see a 2009 Persian Blue one. This will be my daily driver, Are these cars alright to be left outside? As it seems to be rain constantly at the moment... Also the airbag cover seems be fine, is there a way to prevent it warping? James.

  28. Well spotted, it’s habit as I often do it with commercial photography as cars look a lot better without horrible shut lines! It means the viewer looks at the bits that matter, not shut lines

  31. This really annoys me. Here's the graph we're seeing all the time, cases. If you look at it, it shows that we had a number of cases which then subdued and has come back much worse and even after a little reprieve is coming back with a vengence... Here's the number of Covid deaths, a graph I literally never see in the news...

  37. Hello fellows, I got some exciting news for you. I ran for dyno today with Imran's air intake system and the result is superb. Allow me to do some explain first: Dyno run is useless if you just do a "single" run and no compares under the same dyno machine. Because the number could be dramatically variable depend on the dyno machine, the method, the air temperature or maybe your car's mood. And there're two type of dyno machine: Happy dyno & Sad dyno. Happy dyno like "Dynojet" always can give your the number pretty close to the offical manufacturer sometime even higher than the manufacturer's claim. And Sad dyno like "Mainline" will always surprise you with a much lower number than what is should be. Please keep this in mind: There is no right or wrong. Cause different dyno machine run much different numbers so the only useful number is the difference on the same car with different tune run on the SAME dyno machine. And this is pretty much what I do: Same dyno machine. similar air temperature, One stock exige S(IPS) and my exige S(IPS) with Imran's air intake system. The result is: Mine got 50HP more ON WHEEL than the stock one. That's exactly the same result from Imran's dyno run. So great job Imran, this air intake kit definitely will give your more throttle response, more vivid driving experience and for sure: more power babe!!!

  38. Indeed and doing so cost me £20k for 7k miles... oh how I miss the old days... If I could tell myself 10 years ago all you need in life is an Elise and a Disco I'd be mortgage free right now!

  41. Try DeRoure.com . Here's a link to the door trim page: https://deroure.com/diagrams.asp?TBL=12646&MAK=1&MDL=20&SMA=0&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0 Is it item #17 you are after? New ones are quite expensive. Alternatively try Elise-Spares in Norfolk. They might have good condition second hand ones available. Their telephone number is 01508 498 899.

  42. I quite often overhear young children exclaiming "Look it's a race car!" as I drive past in my Exige. When I had the yellow Elise I would often hear young children shouting "Look it's bumblebee!". 🤦‍♂️

  43. I decided to get my winter (cast) wheels refurbed and am super happy with the result. I went for a dark shadow chrome which really shows the shape of the wheels well. I ceramic coated the wheels with Gtechniq C1 then Exo V4 before they went on and gave the wheel arches a thorough clean when the wheels were being changed. You’ll have to excuse the temporary lack of front splitter, the new carbon one will be fitted soon... I’ll take some proper photos of the wheels soon. My forged wheels are anthracite, I much prefer the shadow chrome so might get the forged wheels redone in shadow chrome next year before they go back on. Also worth saying that I ceramic coated the forged wheels earlier this year and I’m amazed how well it’s held up and how clean they are even inside, they still feel brand new!
