  2. Greetings from the states everyone. Here is a few shots of my 523 in Red Rocks Park in Colorado. We have sun year round here, so even after a little snow the roads clear. Lots of twisty mountain roads to enjoy.

  3. Had around 3 more hours today on the car. Didn’t feel like much progress and to be honest, I’m pottering about instead of getting the body off as the shell will then have to live outside in the garden under a tarp, stripped of all soft furnishings but still exposed. After many years of correct dry storage I’m keen to avoid this so may juggle some stuff around to keep the shell inside. So work today, Got the o/s fuel tank out and also managed to free up the sender. Remarkably clean inside, a couple of rust spots but the exterior nothing like the inside. Offside was much much easier, a

  4. Some journos were in Hethel last Monday. It seems like there are different step embargos, a few first informations should come this Monday. Maybe nothing to do with the new models yet but we will see... That's what one journalist said last Monday.

  6. Sorry but I didn't ask about the Evora but you would expect that details of any FE Evora would be released on the same day? Of course I could be wrong about Tuesday, but I'm quietly confident

  7. The BBC in England simply need to stop giving the witch a platform here. They have BBC Scotland for that. I’ve no desire whatsoever to see a vile and divisive politician whom wishes to rip apart Great Britain.

  8. It was a popular colour back in late 2000 for the Elise and Exige and amazed people never ticked the box for Burnt Orange for the Evora. Till this day it’s still one of the best if not the best colour for the Evora. A pic of a forum members car, sure he will not mind me posting, it still looks stunning on the latest Evora.

  12. I picked it up yesterday. Felt like a kid getting up Xmas morning again when the alarm went off early yesterday as not had it since November. Feels great to drive again. Was surprised with the new wing that I had no worse visibility out of the small rear view window. I was half expecting the new wing to obscure even more but it’s out of view completely. It’s mounted too high to block any view - result 👍 and very happy with the alcantara wheel - no cold leather to grip in this cold snap. All I need now is a covid jab and lockdown to finish and I’ll be happy 😊

  14. @Mattmahopesorry mate, it was a random request before I picked the car up. Lotus Silverstone used someone they trust with powder coating and I just told em I wanted a gunmetal type colour... Technological upgrade inbound...

  16. I agree with @pete. Not sure who you are referring to here, if you DON'T believe that Olla Kallenius or Jim Ratcliffe do NOT have influence in this and so that makes three, probably four parties, for sure as my European colleagues would say The F1 team is owned through equal shareholdings between Wolf, Ratcliffe and Daimler. As the CEO Wolf will have a significant say, however, like any CEO he will be accountable to his major shareholders and a decision on this scale would usually be taken in full consultation with them, taking into account their long term strategic views, investment pr

  17. This is dealers trying to set the market price for these cars, I have seen this a lot with the V6 clips and Alfa GTA’s thing is though it doesn’t work and they never sell them. they have probably got a bit scared with that evora 400 at £40k that just sold which pretty much the same car. Now that sold in less than a week which shows that is was priced about right. Now there are no cheap ones about it’s a good opportunity to try raise the retail price, but in my experience they will just sit on the forecourt and not sell or take ages to sell.

  18. But that is partly because of "parties" or groups like English Defence League, the National Front etc which are all far right/extremists? Like it or not, it matters not if it is right or wrong factually, England is viewed as the "conqueror" of Wales, Scotland and Ireland by the nationalists in those countries. They have a conqueror to rally against. The English nationalists have no such conqueror to rail against, so they go after easily identified, minority groups, who they can bully, beat and generally despise as they are not like them - not white pure bred English (which is in its

  19. Hi had great ambitions to daily it more than i have so far. Winter came in pretty hard up here with snow/ice/ salt so it is tucked up for the winter now. I think going forward it will be more a special occasion car. I bought a Mondeo estate as a hack car/ work car. had it 9 weeks before i cracked with it (front wheel drive and horrid 2.0 deasil!) and bought a lovely e91 BMW 330i manual! Think i have my perfect 2 car garage now!

  22. I've never said this outright, but a huge part of the reason my project stalled for a year, was because I got stuck circling the decision on how to fix the badly damaged cradle on the Esprit's chassis. I've broken the back of the job, pun intended, in the past couple of weeks...

  23. Good evening All, I’m excited to say that I have joined the gang this week. It was delivered to me on Wednesday. It’s a new 350 sport in yellow. I have had a few nice cars before but I do like the more impractical interesting type. Previous cars include. Boxster S 911 c4s 911 turbo Noble M12 3r BMW M4 Lotus exige S 220 BMW M2 Also in that time many motor bikes. My favourite from that lot was the Noble. It was fast, loud, extreme and rare. I always had a smile on my face when I drove it. Even just going 10 miles to work! I wanted something similar but fresh and new. The only ca

  27. So new front tyres went on today. The pirellis were 2015 corsas with 3mm tread which had gone hard and was causing the car to tramline horrendously. New Michelin’s and it drives superb and I actually had a decent drive home this afternoon. Ive added a trickle charger today along with cleaning the MAF Sensor, throttle body and new boot struts. I noticed a damp patch in the driver side rear footwell so pulled out the interior, dried it out and did a hose test. Passenger door seal is the culprit so I’ll order 2 new ones and maybe pull off the door card and

  35. Trofeo-R in OEM proper sizes are available since around mid-2020, see this topic : https://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/107089-semi-slick-tyres-for-sport-410-cup-430-and-some-others/ They do not seem to be available everywhere online, at least I found the official dealer in France which sells them : https://ivalto.com/boutique/ You should then find them in UK for sure 👍

  36. A few years back when my GTE had disgraced itself and was in dock at the old Lotus Silverstone site, there was a burnt orange S Sports Racer next in line. It looked the mutts nuts. Certainly the nicest S1 Evora I have ever seen. I believe one of only two sports racers.

  43. Well, a long overdue update.... No refund ever arrived despite them asking for my bank details, and to top that, the MOT I had asked for (and they noted on the bill) seems to have been missed too as DVLA just reminded me that mine expires this month. Hexagon of Highgate, I'm afraid it's now fairly unlikely I'll be calling on you in the future.

  44. It’s so pleasing to see cars like this restored to such a high standard. It normally starts a process where others follow, the cars are appreciated and values rise. I commend you on your effort and it’s also a great tribute to Oli. I hope you get to enjoy it and look forward to hopefully seeing the car in the not too distant future.

  45. Hi Trevor, Thanks for your comments about my Elite. As you say, the restoration wasn’t cheap, with bills totalling nearly £100.00 (well, the one’s that I dared show my wife!) but to say that I’m over the moon with the work carried out by Mike and his team at Lotusbits is an understatement.

  47. when your on the forum allot, attend a few lotus meets, have 3 main dealers & factory within 1.5hrs , and 5 evora owners within a 3 mile radius its easy to forget just how rare they are... which is why every one you meet outside of the lotus world tells you that they'veve never seen one before, i guess those living outside the uk must have even more rarity
