  3. As promised I've modelled this part and have made it available for free on Thingiverse. You don't need an account or anything to download the STL file. Here's a render of my model: It's very close to the original part. I don't anticipate anyone having any troubles with fitment. I welcome any feedback though. When I've got some more time (after I've done all of my uni assignments!) I'll design a slightly different version that does not require the crude pegs of the original. I think it would be better if clips were integrated into the body so that you just had to push it in

  7. Hendy website now shows Exeter as a dealer, been in contact with them and have been told that.. Hi Keith, from next week you can reach out to the team. We have an Elise, Evora and Exige arriving on Monday!. Will have to have an essential visit past them and also to check if they will have started selling parts.

  8. Got the illumination sorted for the oil temperature gauge this evening. Just waiting for one more connector to be able to finish connecting up the actual gauge side of things. Here is the little adapter loom I made up to convert the bulb holder. The CAI gauges use a 501 bulb for illumination but the VDO gauges use a much smaller 286 bulb. The gauge itself came with a green filter on the bulb so I've changed that to a red one to match the existing instruments. I also fixed the ABS light for the second time. The crimps in one the binnacle connectors turne

  16. Hi All, Over the years I have had a string of Elises but I have been been Lotus-less for the last few while I dabbled with Porsches. I miss having a Lotus and I have been considering an Evora off and on since the launch event I went to at Bell & Colvill back in 2009 and I think it may be about time to scratch that itch. However, I have also always wanted a GT3 and with the baffling current marketplace the prices of 996 / 997 era cars seem to be rising to the point where they are the same as a (nearly) new GT410 Sport. So, who has come from a 996/7 era GT3 to an Evora, why and h

  18. There's a host of things not quite right (standard) about this car. Not necessarily a problem but they should be reflected in the asking price which, at £41k, they are clearly not.

  25. And the tail pipe alignment.... NB - As Im sure you are aware, the body seam is structural, I would want evidence that any work had been completed satisfactoriy on the inside - Although I personally would not buy a modified car at that price. And there is also a possibility that the deseaming was conceived as part of body repair, id also want to rule that out too!

  26. Azure Blue with Red interior is a consideration for sure. Not sure on Orange interior... I wonder why they've got a lot of the Orange alcantara left over from the Exige 20th Anniversary

  27. And we only have ourselves to blame for this woke and pampered generation. We are the ones who entitled children to the point where they have representatives on school boards and are told "If a teacher upsets you report them and they will be disciplined". We have entitled them to understand that they don't have to do something they don't want to, and we are not talking about the things we originally told them they didn't have to do like get into a car with a stranger of go see their puppies. We are talking "No I don't want to stop hitting this younger child, you can't force me to!". We have t

  34. Finally managed to get the car re-registered in the UK . I had forgotten to tell HMRC that I'd " imported " the car so my first DVLA attempt was rejected . Sorted the NOVA and have today received a v5 in my name with original number plate . So welcome back to the UK HLE 153T

  35. I must admit we only have ourselves to blame. The growing affluence of the last 50 years has allowed us to (mostly) have anything of the above that we want, so it naturally filters down to the young ones, hence they expect it. It takes a lot of "tough love" to build independence and resilience in our kids which is most difficult as we all in each generation want our kids to have it better than we did. They have no framework with which to appreciate what it took to get them there. I'm sure I and my siblings caused just as much eye-rolling in my folks who were born into a Great Depression then e

  36. I also run the solid black bolts from SeriouslyLotus. If you buy the VX220 ones, you get the right quantity: https://www.seriouslylotus.com/wheels-tyres/europa-and-vx220-wheel-bolt-kit-352 Nice to have bolts which don’t go rusty!

  37. The article in question: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spottedykywt/lotus-evora-launch-edition-spotted/43804 “With the car having been on sale for so long now, and with as many derivatives launched as there has been, it can be difficult to recall what an impact the Evora had 13 years ago. And yes, it really was that far in the past, Lotus pulling the wraps off its latest sports car at the 2008 British Motor Show. Come the 2009 launch, our excitement hadn't dimmed one bit. Here was a Lotus with more than four cylinders for the first time since the Esprit, boasting a han

  38. Hi all, I had my car repainted nearly 20 years. It was originally red and I asked for it to be painted Essex Blue. Wat I got was significantly lighter than Essex blue an the pot I have of original paint used to paint the car says A34 Essex Blue. So what the hell colour has my car been painted? Some have suggested Lagune Blue so I bought a rattle can and below is the result of painting a spare filler cap...nowhere near. Whilst we are in lockdown I can't pop to a paint shop to get the car colour matched but was hoping to sort a few bits that needed respraying so...any ideas what colour to t

  40. Much the same as above, dropped my nephew off at a KFC birthday party & the car emptied the restaurant, my current favourite though is out on a drive with a friend, I pull up at the lights at the bottom of the hill in Burford & can see that my Orange Exige is causing a stir, just as my accomplice pulls up behind me in his Viper Green 3-11 430, I lost’my crowd’instantly & felt like I’d just vanished...
