  2. This picture reminded me of one I used to have. In the end I did have to get rid of it. The can be very cute and look harmless, but don’t be fooled. They are incredibly loud, very expensive to keep, and absolutely untrainable. The other one is a kangaroo and I don’t know anything about them.

  4. I hate people who hate all dogs. I recon those people who hate dogs should be eaten by those dogs - It might offend some people but meat is just meat at the end of the day. Lots of non dog owners are quite happy to offend lots of other people including other non dog owners and other sweeping statement making non dog owners. 😜

  5. This just popped into my inbox... Dear Lotus Enthusiasts Group Scotland, I wanted to send you a wee update on the Royal Deeside Motor Show. Following the announcement by the UK Government some weeks ago, supplemented by the additional clarity provided by the Scottish Government last week and the current localised stability and suppression of the ongoing Coronavirus-19 pandemic, we are excited to announce that the Royal Deeside Motor Show will proceed in July 2021. Whilst we cannot be complacent and ignore the current challenges presented by the ongoing

  8. I know nothing about these things, so forgive my ingorance please, but, if you need to "dent" the pipes like that (1) does that not defeat the objective around smoothing the airflow and (2) how close is the exhaust to the gearbox and does it therefore transfer a lot of heat to it? Thanks, hope they are not stoopid noob questions.

  9. Little update... Spring clean was needed on my car and a few weeks ago I spent the day under the car using dry ice to clean the underside of the car and then protecting it with spray wax. Dry ice is a non abrasive way of cleaning mechanical components and I was very impressed. It doesn't strip the surface coatings, only the dirt, so this is just a way of cleaning properly to then be able to protect for longer. Eventually I'll do a full suspension refresh, but this has helped to protect it for a good while longer. The trick if using wax to protect the underside of a car is to do it regular

  10. It's easy to make big power for a short about of time... Komo-tec have proven that their way of tuning is safe and have a lot of cars out there now with their kits. My car has had the 460 kit for over 30k miles now and it's been the most reliable part of my car!

  11. I’m sure many of these pre production and so called ‘spy shots’ are very carefully planned by the manufacturer concerned in order to ramp up the excitement about a new model. Works for me and I’ll be looking for these spy shots with great enthusiasm. 😁

  15. As a club we almost always have to pay to attend a show, which we don't mind as we usually have a decent spot, get the gazebo up and the tea and coffee on for visitors. That in itself can wrack up 50/60 quid for the weekend. We then have an overnight stay which we err tend to indulge. But some of the shows charging those prices forget. If the clubs don't support the show's. There would be no show. We know the restriction on organisers now is very tight, what with marshal's, first aiders etc all causing overheads. BUT. Our Glams weekend for example probably costs' Wendy and I about £300 minimum

  16. Wow @johnpwalsh and @Bibs those prices don't make any sense. They'll be making money from the food stalls, the mechants, etc. Someone somewhere is being very greedy!

  17. I would prefer a bit more noise on the NA but it's not that quiet. The LE was very quiet, could barely hear it. I find the SR with the exhaust in loud mode pretty good, it's not a patch on the 4xx cars for noise but it's not bad.

  18. Whether or not you get bully and aggressive drivers mostly depends on the organisers as that kind of dictates what kind of crowd you get. All organisers have it in their rules that kind of behaviour is not tolerated but its up to the marshals and organisers to enforce it. I'm fairly novice only done handful of track days and so far I haven't had too much trouble. I've done days with Javelin and MSV which are towards the budget end of the spectrum so attracts everything from Renault Clio's to Mac 720S. They were both run well in my opinion and I didn't have any issues and felt comfortab

  20. There are still a few platers in the UK that do aircraft work. They specialise in cad plating for the industry. I would check to see if they are willing to do car parts. Cad plating is far superior to zinc plating for corrosion protection. It is also an ideal base to powder coat over.

  22. As for the OEM cats, it is not uncommon, even on stndard cars for these discs to braek up and end up back in the engine. Better to ditch them for the small cost when upgrading. And I have to agree with @GFWilliams re Komotec reliability. cheers Mark

  26. What a great story and you have picked a lovely Evora to make your formal acquaintance with Lotus. If you don't like Evora, it is you, not the car. Warm up the engine and oil (10 minutes minimum) and then use all those revs. I hardly use 5th and 6th in the UK.......that singing engine on the motorways in 3rd and 4th is just heaven. It is gonna be a long week........... Justin

  28. That is actually spot on and the only thing I would rather have/hear more of with the N/A - I’ve virtually got into the habit on each drive of getting into the car and pressing the button to open the exhaust valve with the same regularity as putting the seat belt on. It is also the only negative comment I’ve ever heard from strangers in passing - Leaving Silverstone circuit I remember over hearing “Isn’t it quite” and yes it must have been if I could even hear that comment. Love that purple 410 and wondering when it will eventually sell. A friend of mind walks past it on his way to w

  31. A great few days tinkering with Old Yeller. Full service including plugs, new front hard lines, brake pads, coolant swap and brake fluid change following the walkthrough to bleed the ABS system which it definitely needed. Special thanks to Sailorbob for pointing out the service notes are for a left hand drive so reverse everything! Brakes are now immeasurable better. Wheels cleaned inside and out ready for new tyres and MOT on Tuesday. Headlamp pods realigned. New braided hoses installed from swirl pot to expansion tank. New jacking points fabricated and bonded on. Clean polish and

  34. I agree with @scotty435 - there is a quantum difference in performance between the 410 and the NA - HOWEVER, unless you're driving like a complete prick on public roads you will hardly ever, if ever, leave the NA in your wake - any gap would be more down to the proficiency of the driver and their propensity for risk taking on the public road, than it would down to a lack of proficiency in the NA. I also agree with @scotty435 re the stripes on the 410. I keep meaning to take mine off but just have not got around to it yet. They will be coming off though. What you do get in the 410, th

  36. That Purple 410 is epic @Greg | ValetPro and I am sure a tempting deal to be done. NA with 2bular headers, sports filter and sports cat is a wonderful car. You can wring its neck on the open road and have an absolute hoot, keeping up with most things. If I had the space that Red NA would be in my garage now! Alongside the 410. The 410 is noticeably quicker and sounds the mutts -no good at all if you are they type. Slightly easier to get in. Suspension not as sublime as the NA, a bit harder. But oh my does it go 😆 to be honest Greg I'd be happy to either or bot

  37. Hi Chris, I kept the centre mounted 88 oil cooler on my esprit and then mounted an air con rad and larger charge cooler rad to the standard 88 undertray. I have put an SE bumper on which has a larger opening for airflow however It’s using the original 88 rad ducting. There are pictures of it in the projects area called the never ending project if you want to see how it fits. I also wouldn’t use the original ECU. Currently mine is on an omex 600 however if I was doing it again I’d use a 710 as the ignition control is better. I converted the carbs to fuel injection rather

  40. I’m going to be joining the fire red team with a 390fe around beginning of June all being well. I’ve been trying to get insurance quotes but the FE additions aren’t available yet so just to get an idea I’ve said it’s a 410. Will they add the 390 at some point is it just because none have been supplied yet ? Im getting the car from Silverstone who have been great so far all over email or phone but I want to get it detailed and ppf done when it comes. Silverstone offer this but would I be better going elsewhere? cheers Matt
