  8. Well that was a lot bigger/better than I expected. Some lovey cars came out of the woodwork - no doubt helped by the sun. Very good bacon bap and latte. Expecting their first Emira's at the end of May having suffered another delay...so will probably be there for the next one. Nice to see the Astons/Porkers and other stuff as well as the usual suspects. Great drive in the M100 - and back home before 12. What's not to like...

  9. Maybe we'll now get some humility from some Max fans and Horner (who seems to have wound it back a bit) et al who must now all surely realise that to win the WDC, not only do you need a great driver, you need a great car, and a great team. Maybe they'll realise that it was the combination of all 3 that allowed Hamilton and Merc so much success. Easy to say Hamilton only won because he had the best car. So not true as Max is now finding out. Is that jibe now going to be levelled at LeClerc - he is only beating Max because of the car? A stellar performance by LeClerc. Again. A classy drive from a classy driver who doesn't need dirty tactics or intimidation to stamp authority.

  10. Hello everyone, Ive been lurking here for a couple of weeks waiting in anticipation for my newly purchased 1990 Esprit SE to be delivered, and it arrived on Wednesday so after having fitted a new exhaust and identified a couple of vacuum leaks and the potential need for an IAC valve, all with the help of the forum it is time to introduce myself and my new (to me) lotus. I have owned numerous performance cars and at one time was really in to tuning Subaru's, but life, work and the family all got in the way and I settled for buying cars that were quick out the box, rather than fiddling with them. I decided that I would like an esprit, an S1 was my original choice. My father took me to the pictures in 1977 to see James Bond and ever since I saw the white esprit I wanted one but never thought I would be able to afford it. Fast forward 45 years and I saw a 1990 SE for sale in Las Vegas at a good price. (I am an expat living in Houston Texas) I flew up with my wife and daughter under the pretense that we were "Getting away for a few days" and as they slept in one morning I went viewed the car and agreed a price. Naturally, as one would expect my current wife was not best pleased when she found out but I'm sure she will get over it. I would very much like to change the wheels so if anyone this side of the pond has a set gathering dust please reach out. If they require machining due to hub sizes I can get that done. I would like to do the wheels first as it will directly influence the size of brakes I can fit when I have established a black budget. The Esprit has only done 22k miles and all servicing was done and is current from the previous owner, all the belts, fluids pumps etc etc have all been overhauled so this weekend will be vacuum hose replacement time. The interior could do with some love as well. Thank you for looking and I hope to enjoy the forum and your banter going forward. Kindest regards, Callum (Wilky) 78018BE7-55DB-43D6-974F-E33D3A0224E3.heic CC669026-858E-4E4B-B0E3-AAC8F2C536D9.heic

  12. At the request of a member, this topic has been started to attempt to capture the one-offs that get posted. Mostly links to magazine articles which get read and then the post falls off the View New Content page after people read it and don't comment. Anyway, we'll see how this goes or whether it just goes by the wayside. I am going to try and find a lot of the single posts with a link and put them in here. They may not be in chronological order, but I'll try.

  13. Awarded myself a bit of downtime today before the daily hospital visit and took myself off for a couple of hours to the monthly 'Autobahn Scotland' breakfast meet at South Queensferry. The old girl scrubs-up not too badly for 111⁄2 years old and just shy of 80k miles on the clock, . Looks pretty good from all angles too,

  15. Thanks all for a great morning in the sunshine, and to Chris for organising - sorry we missed you this time! Was great to have four black Esprits in a line, we need to do a proper photoshoot with them another time... A few pics from my incredibly bad phone camera attached, as I forgot to bring a proper camera. I then tested fitting a baby seat when I got home, so hopefully tomorrow I can deliver him to nursery by Esprit on the way to teaching with a local Scout group.

  18. Some images that I collected from the cars history referring to the above. I’m a little melancholy regards the little pup in the posh new seats of his owners car all those years ago tbh…. I’ve similar photographs of my old car somewhere. Might have mentioned before but this car was very local to me for 20 years, around half its life, but I never saw it, there’s a chance it used to visit a few doors up from me as the previous owner had family on the same street. That was a long time after these pics, which I believe were either Billingham or Sunderland in around 1996 after the car was brought up from the South Coast where it lived 91-96.

  19. Also parked next to this sf90 which is a 500k car- preferred the look of the 430 tho-although my winky shrunk as this has 1000bhp🤣

  20. For me, it depends what the size of the 133 will be. If it is around the same size like Tesla 3 or Ioniq 6 than I‘m veeery interested. If more like Taycan (2m wide..) than thanks, but no thanks 😉 (why the hell have all cars become bigger and bigger, when all the room and parking place remain small…??)

  27. Another couple of hours in the sun this morning. Pretty much ready for the hoist now. Anyone know a good vet? I think my cat is poorly Near side quarter window doesn’t seem to be leaking so I am optimistically fooling myself into believing the tank will be in good order However I have other plans for the rest of the day which may include coffee and cake 😋

  31. Welcome Callum and congrats, looks like a great car. I'm a huge fan of the Esprit SE myself, that was my first Lotus (also in Calypso Red) and got me hooked on them. I can understand you want to change the wheels, the chrome doesn't really suit the car I think. Black would look great, contrasting with the red. I wish you a lot of fun driving you Esprit! Filip

  33. New to the forum and only have one year under my belt of Lotus Ownership. My elise and I are based on the south side of Edinburgh. Don't get out in it too much but currently amidst planning a road trip for in the summer which should tick a few boxes. Go easy on me if I ask some daft questions, but from a quick look there seems to be a wealth of knowledge and advice here... cheers

  39. I have the same thoughts. Going for I4, I have the funds to buy outright but want to keep some back for other things. I'm tempted to go for a larger deposit but HP the rest not PCP. Yes slighty higher monthly payments depending on size of deposit used but That way It gets paid off by the end of the term without paying interest on the ballon through the term. You can clear the loan at any given time If I so wish/able to.

  46. Thanks guys, yes for me even if the Essex was at £75K I'd still want the white one, I recently sold the below which I loved but it wasn't a great runner and even though restored I decided I'd rather wait for an original well looked after un-restored car as a keeper so it does feel like if we can agree on a price I'll be extremely tempted, let's see how today pans out.
