  11. I have no problem being given an itemised bill for the price of a car, but the price advertised on the windscreen sticker should be the price that you pay (optional extras excluded).

  15. Updated my Autel TS501 TPMS reader a few weeks ago, today whilst looking at some MG3 wheels for the M100, tried the Evija option and it managed to read the sensors on my 2018 Evora...... which would seem then that it may be possible to program the Autel sensor for an Evora if programmed as a Evija? Did not try connecting the reader to the car by the OBD2 port though. 19. Love the above pic, just shows the variety of cars we had on the day. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say a big thanks from team HFL to everyone that came to this years Boys Toys Day to help make it such a brilliant day and our best BTD to date, stunning weather with a fantastic eclectic mix of cars, it really couldn't have been better. Also thanks to Greg from Axsim and Nathan from Race Anywhere who helped run the Sim room which was busy all day. I did this quick walkaround video, unfortunately some of the cars had left by this point but it still show what a wonderful day it was, you may want to mute to volume though so not to hear me talking gibberish 🙄 Thanks again everyone, roll on the next one 👍 Regards, Paul.

  20. @Aimee Lotus Silverstone & Matt are very much still there and bolstered with a great team too. Very much recommend them for an SoR sale. I bought my Evora this way even though it was a member on here selling it. Solid prep and warranty are worth the peace of mind for the new buyer.

  21. Welcome to TLF Thomas. You should duck over to the Introductions area and say hi in there as well and post up some photos of your Esprit. As for your issue with the car, I am fairly sure that the spare parts manual for the car is free if you become a full member of TLF. I am not sure about the service manual though. The various options for membership are in the 'Available Subscriptions' box on the right hand side of your screen. There are some people on here that are quite good with the V8 ( @mike_sekinger) and may be able to give you some assistance. Any questions or issues with using the forums, feel free to ask one of us mods. We're here to help.

  26. Yeah and their Admin fee's make £150 look like a drop in the ocean. So if you aren't sure about what "Admin" a dealer does to get your car on the road. Paperwork for the sale includes legal documentation that the Govt and monitoring authorities require, plus whatever the Dealer has to do for the DVLA, AFRL and even for whatever system they use such as Kalmazoo etc. Then there is dealer required Documentation for Accounts and internal checks. Then there is Admin in prep'ing the car to ensure everything is done for you to collect. I won't go into how many check sheets need to be done. 1 for Admin, 1 for Salesman, one for Sales Manager to oversee the other 2 etc. Then there is Finance Paperwork, if you don't want Finance there is paperwork to say you don't want finance and that it has been offered to you as a requirement. Then there is Insurance Documentation and additional options such as paint treatments and GAP insurances. Again if you don't want these the Salesman has to get you to sign to say it was offered, not for legal reasons but because his boss will sack him if he doesn't "sell" which is his job! Then there is admin for the handover, final check lists, Inspection by the Saleman to make sure its perfect (he has to sign to say he's done it so it's on his head if you find an issue). Finally on collection the Saleman has to do another check on your used car, ensure its the same as when he last inspected it when doing the deal. Then Admin has to collate all that info, send the relevant forms to the relevant people to scan in so Govt and insurance/finance authorities can ensure its been done to their satisfaction and updating the computer systems that communicate with others including the DVLA to ensure you don't get pulled for having no insurance or tax. Now some of this has been automated in some bigger companies but instead of a form the Salesman/Admin/Manager has to do it all online and get you to click your esignature. The process is the same and time consuming! The other point was, in the old days we used to hide the admin cost in the price but these days you aren't allowed to. Everything has to be above board and costs seperated so you can see what you are paying for. I think one of he only industries involved in sales to the public where you have more Admin to do, is the Insurance IFA industry, but again, Car dealers need specialists because they sell those products as well!

  30. Yup it happened, and I believe Lotus have been aware of it for a while. Alpine is at the crossroads in terms of strategy while Lotus has a clear plan for now. Dieppe factory is still at the heart of alpine sports car strategy as is Hethel for Lotus. Sharing the chassis of more properly said using the Type 135 chassis would have saved Alpine cost but also negated the need for Dieppe as both cars production would have been more cost effective sharing one production line. Besides brexit still has an impact on business decision, and Alpine is going to try to hammer the haute couture / made in France message down in the next few years. I don't believe it changes any thing for Lotus they heavy lifting for type 135 has been done already under project LEVA. Now they are in tooling, production engineering and procurement mode for the "Elise" class model. they have everything available in house or in the group as the footprint growth of the group is almost hard to fathom. Beside with Geely now a 17% shareholder in Aston Martin, I do think project LEVA architecture will find a suitable buyer sooner than later.

  31. Yep, i have 2 sets of wheels, but will drive to circuit in all conditions with AR1’s on. Reasonable in the wet but standing water can be a challenge On track I would say AR1’s wear better as they have a stiffer shoulder and even with a track geo set up, Cup 2’s still wear the outside too much for my liking Cant really compare for road use except to say AR1’s are noisier and also heavier

  33. And just to be different and difficult, the USA '85 Turbo has it attached to the engine bulkhead behind the electrics. You'd think it would have been easier to standardize across the line for a small manufacturer, but differences abound.

  34. @Techyd - I totally agree with you re Alonso. It is as though he has been reborn and the love for F1 has been reignited inside him. Wouldn't it be just fantastic if he were able to take another WDC? Not saying I expect it to happen, but probably would be the best thing for F1 right now.

  35. This weekends GP has passed me straight by! Only caught the channel highlights on Youtube. Looked like a decent fight between KMag and Charles who remains as despondent as ever (even Sainz seems down spirited). I did think it interesting at the speed delta on some of Maxs' overtakes; it's so much faster it does make the opposition look like a computer game set on easy. Personally, I think it is Alonso making the season interesting - there's real fire in his eyes and he is loving being at Aston Martin. Whatever they are doing for him I hope they keep it up!! By contrast Lance Stroll couldn't look any less interested.
