  3. I might still have a spare servo, condition Unknown been dry stored in house if it's not walked
  4. I am going to be there Friday night if lotus excel behaves
  5. Lotus elite s2 now road legal, only lots of small jobs to go including oil service as cam belt done
  6. Yes ,hope to get back on elan this week as 3 years is up next month of working on it,apart from 8 month break due to unforeseen circumstances, budget is broken as well as time scale I must try and get organised never managed it so far
  7. Well done,I am going through mot process on my1980 s2 elite needed new bushes on diff mountings, beyond my skills ( garage doing it),told me it needed new cam belt as it turned out tensioner needed rebuilt, whilst bonnet was of did clean up / paint work of engine bay, trouble is I like elite more than excel,it's a wedge thing,it's going to be painful selling it,especially after all the work gone in to keep it on road, cannot justify keeping both, decisions decisions
  8. Ok thanks for info,at least it's not flapping about like old belt
  9. Just renewed belt and tensioner renewed, cam belt is centre of tensioner pulley and dizzy drive / oil pump pulley but runs off centre on inlet/exhaust pulleys, there does not appear to be any adjustment anywhere,I am going to release tension and set belt towards dashboard of car on inlet / exhaust pulleys then retention belt to see if I can get it off edge of pulleys any other suggestions/ help more than welcome
  10. Hi can you tell me routing of your air intake hose to air box, also what does the cam belt cover look like,I had used the cooling fan cowel from s1 for air hose but it did not fit very well rubbed on water pump, cam belt cover was not present on purchase, any photo of engine bay would be great, the wolf race wheels look mean (nice) ,thanks el torro

My cambelt cover is not the original as it had been removed, the cover I have is close to the original but has different fixing holes so may be an excel one.

The intake hose is fixed to the front air deflector panel to keep it away from the water pump but it is still very close and can rub if the panel isn't fixed properly.

I think the wolfrace look cool too! :lol:IMAG1260.jpgIMAG1262.jpg

Thanks for info,I notice on my excel SE it seems to have a different intake manifold because of all the vacuum pipes so cam cover brackets no good for elite ,also air hose is routed over top of radiator so must be other size of radiator / modified front nose section?,anyway I will just put cowel back on ,ta John

  11. Well done very rare ,I got one years ago of a Range Rover ,I think it was one of 4 switches on top of door card, the plastic bit on that broke like yours,it was hardly used,I was checking it worked for mot when it failed
  12. I could not find switch,I am in process of fitting tr7 one it needs wiring modified and additional hazard flash relay , both tr7 switch and relay are available, will post info when done
  13. I have a elite s2.2 in Monaco white, currently preparing it for mot, sorting out electrical problems, hop to have it for sale by end of May,had one person who looked at it last year with view to buying it this year, not heard from him yet
  14. Yes should have said after owning elites since 1993,have got this 1990 excel SE,completely different driving experience,in a good way, still own elite s2.2 ,photo shown for comparison, taken in Edinburgh up a big hill
