    Brexit

Remainer press have found it very difficult to find any evidence of the Armageddon they shouted incessantly about for years in the event of Brexit.
  5. definitely not try to fix for him .. the problem becomes yours and you enter slippery slope of giving him some sort of "warranty" I would not even have offered anything, it just invites continued correspondence, and you can end up inadvertently agreeing that it is your problem whatever you do, if you offer any amount to sort it out: 1. all offers/counteroffers must be headed "Without Prejudice" - this ensures you are not admitting liability by making a settlement offer 2. if any amount is agreed, make sure that it is "in full and final settlement of any and all claims in relation to the sale of the car"

    Brexit

the Internal Market Bill's "international law breaking" provision was in response to EU's threat to weaponise the NI protocol by refusing to deal in good faith and expeditiously with procedures and standards on food and agriculture products, which would lead to NI being severed from GB for these products on 1 January 21 if WTO terms applied. This critical detail was completely lost in the hysterical press reporting worldwide, especially UK press and, by opposition and retired/irrelevant windbag grand standing politicians. I was delighted that Johnson fought back swiftly and robustly. Gove sorted the issue out with EU VP when the EU realised we weren't bluffing, FTA or not. I would be very disappointed if our deal wasn't significantly better than Norway's or Switzerland's. We are the world's 5th largest economy with much more leverage (economic, political and military) than either of them (Norway 33rd and Switzerland 18th).

what is striking is that since the UK left the EU, the EU has been no nimbler .. in the past, all sorts of delays were blamed on the Brits being difficult perhaps other countries have now come out of the UK's shadow 😁

    Brexit

Sturgeon is clutching at straws. Her fox has been shot as there will be no material damage to Scotland now we have a FTA. SNP were very quiet on fish as staying in customs union and single market would mean no additional fish. Now they just sound ridiculous but not to SNP true believers. Hopefully, many other Scots with an open and reasonable mind can see through Sturgeon's duplicitous clap trap of diarrhoea masquerading as policy and strategy. I can't wait to see Andrew Neil interview her on why independence is still so important to Scotland's economy.

The deal takes out a great chunk - if not a fatal chunk - out of SNP's incessant whining about how Brexit would ruin Scottish industry, farming and foodstuffs. what will they rant about now?

Of 2367 lorry drivers tested so far, 3 have tested positive for CV19. this is the "risk" that Macron was addressing by closing Calais https://apple.news/AgvoOq6X-Tjujz-p0vimUWg

    Brexit

totally agree. The EU is not a country or even close to it. Those in it - especially France - are in it only in their own narrow national interest. There is no doubt in my mind that le petit Macron closed Calais as Brexit posturing. The new CV19 variant was a fig leaf for Macron's desire to flex his pathetic muscles. lorry drivers from the EU leaving the UK are low risk (as they generally do not mix or interact with the great British public with the supposedly more contagious strain) and has been ever since this whole madness started. in a way, it's good to have had the disruption as even a WTO Brexit would not involve closing Calais. We didn't sink into chaos or anarchy, nor did we starve. We will be fine.
