  7. Allan Sorry that I won't be able to make the Powmill meet because we're off to Las Vegas for a week. However, I have a couple of ideas which I've passed on to Brian King so hopefully the ideas can be put forward for consideration on the 6th. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need any help with organising meets. As you know I'm finishing work for good soon so I will be free to play with cars for a lot of the time! Ken

  13. The "squadron" was sadly depleted when we left Aberdeen as most of the Aberdeenshire based Lotus' were off to Inverness classic car show. Nevertheless Doug in the GT3 and myself in the Elise set off from Duthie park and roared along the South Deeside road where Scott in the Esprit S3 was waiting. The Cairn O Mount road was suitably free of too much traffic and we gave them some welly over the roller coaster road, stopping briefly at the car park near the peak for the obligatory pic. The road up the western side of Glen Clova was also really quiet apart from a few errant lambs but we again were not hanging about till we stopped for lunch at the wee hotel at the northern end of the Glen.. (We were hoping to have Andrew and Dave join us at Finavon but unfortunately they got detained by Dun's business matters. Pity guys- you missed a great blast! The route on the eastern side of Glen Clova and then over to Montrose was equally exciting. Joining us at Montrose were John & Jacqueline and Brian & Isabel, both with Excels. Lots of good stuff to see at this museum, for those interested in old aircraft. We finished up with coffee and cakes at Charlestone Fruit Farm just a few miles Absolutely great run and worth putting on your calendar for future, guys
  14. There was not a big turnout for the Glen Clova/ Montrose run but here's a couple of pics of the 5 cars who went to Montrose Airstation. There was lots of wartime memorabilia as well as plenty of engines and quite a few aircraft to look at. Attending were John, Jaqueline, Brian, Isabel, Scott, Doug and Ken in the Excel, Excel, Esprit S3, Esprit GT3 and Elise respectively.
  15. Count me in also. But I'll see you all there as I'm only 20minutes away from there.
  16. Yes, I'm happy for that. It was just I saw a slot in your programme but earlier in the year certainly would be better. I'm keen to try the run to Machrihanish also so I will bring all the details for the breakfast on Sunday and we can possibly get dates finalised Ken
  17. Yes, its difficult getting free weekends that don't overlap with shows. Hopefully somebody will turn up! I'm hoping for a few of the Lotus 7 /Caterham guys and some of the LEGS guys are tying in further south Ken
  18. Folks I've a proposal for those of you who want to keep your cars a bit closer to home rather than going to Brands Hatch in mid August. The 90 mile run is planned to take about 3 hours on Saturday 15th August afternoon. Sets off from Dyce to Tarves, Maud, New Aberdour with a refreshment stop in Gardenstoun. The return route is via Banff, Turriff, Pitglassie and finishes in Oldmeldrum I'll send more details by e:mail to anybody replying Ken Gordon Route Details.pdf
  19. Hi LEGS I've got another couple of runs planned for this year but have not set dates. One is Aberdeenshire based so more applicable to CLNES probably. The 2nd is to meet at Coupar Angus for breakfast say and drive to Blairgowrie, Pitlochrie, Loch Tummel and Rannoch Station for coffee. Then back on the other side of Loch Tummel to Killin and then Kenmore for Lunch. The run ends in Crieff. I see that you are looking for a suggestion for 1st Nov. Maybe this would be suitable. I can give you all the details on Sunday at the Petit Paris meeting which I'm planning to go to Cheers Ken
  20. Yes, I'm really hope to make this one and now that the weather is better, I shouldn't having any excuses for turning up. Thanks to Gordon for adding my name to the list
  21. Hi all CLNES folk I'm going to do a wee run to Glen Clova and Montrose Airfield. Its posted on LEGS section so if interested, can you add your name to the list there as its too difficult to have 2 lists Cheers Ken
  22. Hi LEGS I'm proposing an outing to Glen Clova to meet for brunch at the Glen Clova hotel on Saturday 9th May and afterwards to head towards Montrose Airfield museum which is open till 4pm on Saturdays. The route for Aberdeen folk will be via Banchory and the "Cairn O'Mount road to Fettercairn then to Kirriemuir and to Glen Clova. Route back from Montrose will be via the coastal route. If you are interested can you add your name to the list and I'll get a table (tables) booked at the hotel and warn museum that a group are coming. Ken Elise Mk 1 Ken London Esprit GT3 Doug London Esprit GT3 Gordon Masson
  23. Brian Please add me to your list. I'll probably meet up with Gordon and drive down in convoy from Aberdeen
