  1. to put my two penith in use a battery jump start cable from the block find a clean space and run it to the battery ignoring all possible problems see if the electrics come to life . as for the noises when mine let go on the left bank it wasnt so much a bang more of a fast pop and biiig flames out the exhaust . sorry to see your worst expectations come to fruition but as everyowner does , take a breath roll them sleves up and get stuck in . you have enough people with knowledge to help and advise and you will learn more about your car it becomes ever sweeter

Or a breitling . But what to buy ? I've found a breitling air wolf in stainless with a black face i really like .But I'd appreciate some opinions and input is there a level in quality or range .what do I look for or keep an eye out for problems .   4. Alan I went for a helix race clutch more brutal but I wanted better bite . It's still sat on the shelf lol I have my old one too the bearing is still good if you want it . Taking the box out is easy .pop by the new shop and come see I'll talk you through it .

  8. Yes I still have the originals but wanted something better I used Honda s2000 mirrors the electric and heating still works . I actually think the angle suit the car better than the French pos ones . They're way more sturdy and don't wobble at speed .the foot print is the same so I can change back if I ever sell to a purist .

  11. Honestly matey kick the old rubbish in the bin . The pipe running through the chassis can be salvaged pirtek do a mobile service and can crimp on the right connection or extend it . And try the guys in cali JAE they have spares and second hand pipes but because they don't have our weather they're pipes come undone without damage . Use spal for your fans and serick motor sport for the rad and oil coolers . You should pop down to swindon and see my set up
  12. Hello morning and welcome . Hope you have your thunderware on it will be worse than you think. Replace as much as possible check everything the slightest detail could be costly . Don't listen to so called professionals. This site has some really good guys on it gunter and Mike know more than Jesus it's always best to ask and ask again lots of opinions and people with experience who have done this before. Are you in Swindon Steve? If you close enough my v8 is on a ramp if you want to chew the fat and ask questions or see what one restored looks like then ask . Hope you have deep pockets .Esprits s without care cost the next user /owner a lot but as said your joining a club and won't be disappointed by the end result.

  16. You have no space behind the seat I'm 6ft plus and the seats way back . I'm also not about to start hacking up my car for the sake of a sub enclosure . I'll fibre glass a small pod under the passengers legs so they can still sit in but the dead space bellow their legs is used effectively . Or removed if I need it out . The problem is its not so much nvh but frequencies I have a sports exhaust but inside my esprit its ok behind the car its noisy with loud cars the exhuast note changes as the car accelerates under load and the pitch changes . This can mess totally with your sound. If you have a loud car inside then stay clear of bass it will sound horrible . You can sound deaden the fire wall to aid the suppression but you won't do much with our types of car except add weight again something I don't want to do . So this leaves you treble mid and midbass you can achieve a nice sound . It will never win awards but that's not why I'm doing it . So it's about the right equipment not amount of equipment to achieve a good sound in a limited space . I shan't fanny around with staging or time alignment just a good sound with the limitations I have . I would only ever use sealed enclosures for bass ported boxes although traditionally louder I find a sealed box tighter and more control able bass . Also I want sound not vibration ported boxes that are tuned right tend to move more air making the panels or car breath and flex like a lung again not what I want .
  17. so true jay this is the size specs of the JL Height (H) 45 mm Width (W) 220 mm Depth (D) 78.5 mm Rockford is 40mm x 172mm x 108mm . I researched the jl but I prefer the look of the Rockford I still looks like an amp but tiny also the jl has the audio control under the amp so if you mount it you have to remove it every time you may want an adjustment .
