[5 speed maxi gearbox]

First of all hi as this is my first post

I've just got éclat it's 1977 with the 5 speed box (maxi) but I can't get reverse gear, all others are fine, is this common prob/ simple fix, or gearbox strip?

I'm in midlands can anyone point me in right direction
