  1. Why would you want to change the engine in the car when it was the original engine built for Essex 017? It replaced the original engine after it was starved of oil, Lotus changed it to the current one and 017 had another built up.
  2. I 3D printed the surrounds on a rough powder coated plate to get some texture. Not exactly original but you can't really tell the difference. Had no trouble getting the seats in and out with the door cards on. Roo
  3. Nice job @LOTUSMAN33 Ultrasonic cleaner makes short work cleaning carbs. I use a mixture of water and lemon juice to get the alloy casings nice and bright. Just finished up doing a triple 40DHLA setup for the 1970 240Z. Night and day difference.
  4. Here's the SEAS datasheet for the 1o FLG speaker. They class them as mid range tweeters so you will need the main speaker on the dash as well. http://www.seas.no/images/stories/vintage/pdfdataheet/from_the_70s_2.pdf
  5. Speakers were manufactures by SEAS in Scandinavia. Model was the lo FLG. The plastic trim was made by Lotus but no longer available, I 3d printed my own. The mesh is also used by some older stereo manufacturers but you will have to search around for it.
  6. Unless there was a flash flood in London during the parade there is nothing slightly amphibious about that particular Esprit. I also highly doubt it was used in a James Bond movie!
  7. British Leyland used them; can be found on TR7, Austin Allegro, Morris Marina etc.
  8. Not quite right @LOTUSMAN33 Export Commemorative Edition "JPS" cars were black handles, Domestic were a mixture of chrome and black. The earlier the production build the more likely to be chrome, the later ones were mostly black.
  9. That is not a "JPS" Esprit, its a Black Turbo with a gold pinstripe. Usual tosh from auction company trying to talk up the price.
  10. Mike the motorshow cars weren't sold off immediately, by the time they were the numbers on them had already been allocated to other production cars. They just used the next numbers available and fitted those.
  11. Should be able to find everything you need here Mike. Let me know if you need extra details. http://www.jpsesprit.com/ Best decals are available here from a fellow "JPS" owner. https://www.e-stickers.fr/esticker/prestashop/autres-marques/28-lotus-esprit-jps-decal-set-stickers.html
  12. When I look up your website it brings up a used car dealership in York. You were the one who brought up libel so don't go all defensive when you get called out. Anytime you misrepresent something invariably you will get called out by knowledgeable owners. That's what happened here and does every day on the internet forums. The descriptions on the Market were far from factual and done to talk up the cars. Hopefully the people that bought them correct the problem areas and end up with some lovely cars.
  13. Wow...first class rant by a used car dealer whose vehicles didn't match the auction description. I stand by everything I said about the "JPS" including the replacement decals on the driver's side, the rusty suspension and chassis components and the engine fire with repairs that are not to original spec. Oh don't forget the non original stainless exhaust system. Lots more I could cover but this is not an original unmolested car...period. I you fancy taking me to court for libel let me know the time and the place and I'll be there.
  14. Sadly the auction house tried to claim these were the best examples in the world but the cars didn't match the claim. The cream always rises to the top and the best cars bring the best money.....this collection was obviously not up to a high enough standard.
  15. More Loose goodness. It wasn't just Lotus he dealt with, he was also an Aston Martin dealer and he also brought some Lamborghini Countach into the USA before they were officially imported.
