  1. She lives inside a single car garage of course! I've never understood why anyone would park a valuable car outside long term. I've always thought that if you can't bother to protect it, you shouldn't own it. I used to live in an expensive bit central London until recently, and would see Bentleys, Rolls, Ferrari, Astons and other new rare and VERY expensive cars that just lived outside on the street. Door dings, scrapes, bird crap, snow, ice on them all the time. Treating their cars like a decade old Mondeo. I moved out to the edge of London just so I could afford to rent a fla

  3. Its marmite I know, but still my favourite cockpit of any car! Esprit S1. (note: not my car or photos)
  4. 1968 Plymouth Barracuda 1983 VW Scirroco 1989 Jeep Wrangler 2000 Lotus Elise
  5. Elise wins the race. I expected nothing less.
  6. This video tells you all you need to know about the origins of the Elise.
  7. Blue Elise (S2?) in Edinburgh Old Town on King George Bridge Saturday at around 3pm. Handling the frozen cobbles well.
  8. I'd really like to see this new bike go in a head to head race with the Type 108 on the track. Is it 25% faster being 25 years newer?
  9. More crazy cars from today in Monterey.
  10. Last images from today. Hope y’all enjoy.
  11. So I’m back for another Monterey Car Week in Northern California. As in previous years I’ll post a few pictures of the exotics and rarities of the four wheel variety for your viewing pleasure. A selection from this morning...
  12. I have no connection to this link but a quick web search comes up with this.... https://www.bookaclassic.co.uk/lotus-esprit-s4-22-turbo-x180-cambridgeshire/
  13. Grr! I’m in Monterey for much of car week as usual, but won’t be around for the last weekend when the Evija is shown. So close; yet so far!
  14. I’m not sure why an ex F1 driver would pick a poor mans 911 over an Elise. ...at least the Stig knows a proper car!
  15. My Elise S1 is now registered as exempt. Just took the V5c and the Certificate of Conformity to prove. Just a shame that is has to be done on a individual basis....
  16. Certainly a very sad ending and my thoughts go out to the family. Sadly, not the best restoration I’ve seen on the show. Being an S1 owner myself of course this was the car I’d been waiting for them to do up on the show someday. Maybe it was down to the time constraints, but they didn’t seem to take the care and attention to detail they’ve shown on other cars in the show? Lots of incorrect parts ... and that grill!
  17. This seems to be the contact info at Lotus to request a copy of the CoC. CONTACT FOR: Certificate of Conformity for cars from 1997 EMAIL: [email protected] 8:15 - 17:15 GMT Monday to Thursday | 8:15 - 12:15 GMT Friday https://www.lotuscars.com/about-us/contact-us
  18. Finally got round to getting my 70th event poster framed proper like. In Lotus Racing Green!
  19. Just search “Lotus Hethel” on a search engine and lots come up, like:
  20. I bid on the esprit poster. Sadly didn’t win either.
  21. Not exact sure what changed to allow the hard top to attach on later S1’s like mine but this is a current eBay ad for some left over bits... plus instructions for that change over. Maybe it will help? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163381284703
  22. I was past there yesterday evening after normal hours and yes the shop had completely empty shelves. A few garments on a rail or two and the yellow Elise in the back room was the only things inside. Looked “Out of business” for sure. Only a paper notice on the door saying ‘temporary shop hours - Tuesday to Saturday’ I think.
  23. Positives: Price! at £0 for entry was great. Food costs were reasonable as were the event merchandise. On track activities were great and the sheer number of vehicles to see was amazing. Also access to quite a few of the factory buildings was impressive. Portaloos were the best I've ever seen. Negatives: As per earlier posts, if it had rained, the day would have been MUCH less enjoyable. More rain cover would be essential everywhere. Also, there wasn't enough places to sit down. My legs were pretty tired by end of day on foot. Though would be fun as an annual event,
