  1. £500 for the set of four.....anyone? Bloody bargain!
  2. Mine is a SWLC cast version and it's definitely dumbed down my acceleration a tadge. Not happy with it.
  3. Right, I definitely don't like these Michelins (see above post) They grip well, especially in the wet but give too much feed back via the steering wheel for my liking. They feel every bump and rut. Some people may like that but Im not keen. I shall have to sell the tires and look for something else.
  4. I had the manifold on my GT 3 replaced about 18 months ago. I'm not sure where it came from but I'll ask the guy who do Did the work. (ithought it was an OEM part) I have noticed that since replacing it, the initial acceleration is not as aggressive which is majorly disappointing as it was rapid before. I'm going to have to do some more research.
  5. Hi, Has anyone ever had their Esprit engine stripped and refurbished / cleaned up / tuned? Mt Gt3 now has 85k on the clocks and was thinking about having the engine rebuilt next year. There's nothing wrong with it at the moment but I was thinking more in the lines of preventative maintenance. I may be playing with fire though. I am located in SW London. Thanks
  6. I have just put Michelin PS2 on the front and could onlly find a set of PS3 for the rear and i did this all very last minute and needed them for a trip to Le Mans Classic, where I am as we speak. I was worried about doing this as the 3s are slightly sticker, however, they have the same tread pattern and I don't track the car. My findings so far: The steering at the front seems lighter which I dont like. I like the planted feel. I have dropped down to 28 psi which has helped but it still donesn't feel 100% There are no major problems andd they are a massive mprovement in the wet over the P9000s which I had on before BUT they still don't feel planted. My winter tyres on my Cayenne are the same. Lighter steering, makes the front end feel lighter and travels up to the steering wheel. Am I making sense? What is the cause of this? How can I improve on it? What tyre pressure do people reccommend for the front and rear? The P9000s were good in the dry and felt perfect but were bloody dangerous in the wet!
  7. I maybe interested in the Elite one. Has anyone got one? Thoughts
  8. Job done Bibs, thanks. I do not have the indicator audio tick tick tick now, and the ABS light is still flashing when the side lights are on. Someone has also kindly bashed my front bumper and cleared off. Just after I had it all fixed and put new Armor Fend on too. Nice!
  9. Hmmm, having mixed bulbs is kind of pointless for me as I want the bulbs to look the same.
  10. Hi, did anyone come up with a final solution to all of this?
  11. Hi all, I've recently fitted Led bulbs to front and rear indicators, side lights, rear lights and brake lights. Now my indicators flash too fast. Any ideas on how to correct this please?
  12. Alex, did you have problems with indicators flashing too fast? I think I saw something on the forums but cant find it and need to sort itout asap.
  13. Yeah, I definately feel like the pads aren't biting hard enough with gentle pressure when I haven't been using them much, especially when on motorways etc. I would like a pad that feels like it's stopping you, immediately. I have also noticed that if you panic brake and slam on the brake pedal hard, they grip, the wheels lock for a millisecond and the ABS cuts in immediately, too fast if you ask me. I would prefer to brake more before the ABS cuts in. If you progressively apply the brake hard, the ABS rarely cuts in until a bit later. HOWEVER, I would very much like to have better braking power from cold pads, so.......any suggestions of pads that will fit the AP calipers, other than the origional pads? Danke
  14. I found my suspension started going on my GT3 a couple of years ago, so I decided to replace all four corners. I went for the Lotus recommended Bilstein and Eibach ones as described on LEW and find them good. I don't track but push the car on the roads and have travelled most mountain ranges in Europe on them. I'm a fussy bloke with the car and if something doesn't feel right, the slightest twich, then I notice. I am happy with this set up http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EGuides/EModifications/Lotus_Suspension.html
  15. I quite like the first option and this would be a lot cheaper and easier to the multifuntions one I was looking at, even then, they're not the right shape. They look like they light up the lens more in your second picture, Is the just because of the angle? Does this option cause problems seeing the indicators? Definately an improvement, is it possible to do the same with the other bulbs? The indicator ones, front and rear and maybe the brake light ones too? What about the fog lamps? (Although I have put another whiter bulb in those) In fact, have you got a part number for those cluster bulbs please? Look like you could be the winner of a quick fix! Thank you!
  16. Hi gents, I have sport 350 AP discs on the front of my GT3, with the standard AP pads. I'm not happy with them on the road as they need heating up to work I'm looking for a pad which can work effectively first time even on motorways, after little or no use (ie cold) and which can also handle fast road use. (No track days) Names and part numbers would be great. Thanks.
  17. I'm here! I didn't realise I couldn't take PMs, might have to upgrade then. I looked for ages to get my wheels redone after the laquer went bad on a very expensive refurbished set soon after I bought them from some Lotus specialist in the South West. Voodoo, stripped them down and polished them up very nicely. No laquer this time. I was happy with the job and the price at the time was very reasonable. ( I didn't require the middle parts doing, just the dishes polishing.)
  18. Hi I've been wanting to upgrade my GT3 driving lights to Audi/Porsche style LED ones for a while. The reason is to modernise the look of the car and replace the embarresingly piss poor standard ones which are hardly worth the effort and date the car horrendeously on todays roads, when switched on. I want to keep the bodywork as standard looking as possible and it's hard work finding a LED light which doubles up as indicators as well. However, I think I'm making progress. A couple of Porsche after market specialists are doing MULTIFUNCTION LED DRIVING LIGHTS which nearly tick all the boxes. An example of two sets are here: http://www.feztec.com/catalog/p113955/SpeedART-LED-Daylight-Running-Lights-Porsche-997-Turbo-05-08-by-Feztec/product_info.html http://www.feztec.com/catalog/p85977/Mansory-Multifunction-LED-Turn-Signal-Porsche-Cayenne-02+-by-Feztec/product_info.html I just need to find some that have the same curve as the Lotus ones and are similar size. If they didn't quite fit, I could think about some minor bumber mods.....maybe. Has anyone else thought about doing this and have any info to share? I think it's a mod which would make a lot of improvement to the front of the car. (f possible)
  19. I just up graded the bulbs on mine to the ones mentioned on LEW. They're a lot better and more than adequate, You can also rewire the other lights, so all four lights come on dip and not on main beam, until you need it

    Bumper Wanted

It's the bottom bit I wanted. Yes.

    Bumper Wanted

I need a front bumper asap to repair my GT3. Thanks
  22. Did you have to put a spacer between the 350AP brakes and the OZ Futura wheels? I found that the caliper was very very close to the wheel.

    Nooooo!

Here's my poor Esprit after the guy in front hit a car and I couldn't stop in time and hit him. (In France) Due to my green card running out by one day, after a two month trip, I have to fund the rebuild myself! Direct line even refused to repatriate the vehicle as they said my 'one years full european recovery' was breakdown only! Yet I have a leaflet from them which clearly states accident too. (Going to see a solicitor) Not only that, I just bought a used Cayenne from a well known 4x4 dealer in Essex and that's gone back after 4 days due to leaking coolant! Not having much luck am I? So....Now I'm looking for front end parts!
