  1. There were 6 on each of mine, all rusted and solid. When you eventually get them off, you may find that the surround is still stuck solid. If this is the case, PULL!!!!! the rubber had perished in mine and effectively stuck the surround to the body.
  2. Have to agree with most of the above list, Big python fan, love Steve Martin's earlier stuff. I'm a bit surprised that Peter Sellers gets so few mentions, what about the hilarious "Mouse that roared" and "The Fiendish plot of Dr Fu Manchu"
  3. Fascinating thread, great information! Now I have to do my lines.
  4. My relay looks like that one, but my fans still work

Cheers Shah, I have to confess to wanting another model esprit, but now I've got this one and see it every day I'm hooked. All i need to do is work out how to get V8 performance and S2 looks. Steve.

Hi Pete, thanks for that. We have met up at the hogs lodge several months back, you kindly offered to let me come up and take a load of photos of your car. Steve.
  7. I cleaned mine with a can of engine cleaner and it didn't screw up the electrics, just pooled in the spark plug sockets and loads of other places under the dzzy etc. Had some good results before by getting the engine hot and spraying with aerosol carb cleaner, cleans the oil off and evaporates with the heat.
  8. You get a lot more boot space on the G cars, Non turbos seem to have even more. Also you get more bonnet space if there's no air con. Depends really on what you want to carry. Certainly wouldn't recommend it if you are an undertaker and want to use it for work
  9. Anyone have any recommendations for information/guidance on DIY fiberglass repairs? I've got a few stone chips and crazing that need repair but also plenty of practice bits, i.e. edges and corners of the under body tray, it looks like somebody's driven through a recently poughed field. Steve.
  10. Don't feel too bad Cliff, my every day car is a Volvo T5R. How much cred can you get from a Volvo, whatever's under the bonnet?? Steve.

The plan is to sort of restore, but to add my own touch. Originally the car was fabric upholstery but most of this has been ruined due to the water in the cabin. (took out 32 litres with a dehumidifyer) I'm planning to do most upholstery in leather, change to a white headlining to make the cabin a bit lighter, few other bits here and there but essentially get the car working and drive it before I make any decisions about the engine and running gear. I'm based in Hampshire, england so if any wants to come and wield a spanner???? Steve

Hi, thought I'd better introduce myself. I've had an S2 for a while, total wreck in need of a lot of work. I rescued it from under a tarpaulin in a load of trees. Window seals are all shot so the inside was soaked and ruined. Had the engine running and basic running gear seems ok, chassis is sound so hopefully not too many nasty surprises (other than a rapidly diminishing bank account!) Steve.
  13. Ok, I'm a new member, just read through the thread and thoght I'd better say hello before I offend somebody by keeping quiet. I've had an S2 for a while, total wreck in need of a lot of work.
