  1. Last utdate, arrived in Skagen, driven just over 3000km without a single issue. Managed to call into the British Car show just outside Viborg, sorry we didn’t Get a chance to meet in Copenhagen, maybe next year. I’m going to call this vacation the Lotus endurance trip 🙂
  2. Just as a matter of interest, drove 1300km and now in Southern Germany, 36 degrees and I regret stripping out the air conditioning 😥

  4. Thanks for the replies, yes, all seems to run OK so we'll see how it goes. We'll be putting about 4000km on the clock. Looking forward to meeting up with the Danish members :-)
  5. Changed the belt last year, driven about 800km with no problems, but today started checking over everything before we set off for Germany next week. The belt when I plucked it whilst using a sound frequency app, measured 170hHz Hot, Measured it again cold and got 110Hz. Is this possible ? is it too tight ? can I trust an app on my phone ? I can twist the belt 45 degrees, but it does feel tight, on a regular car if you can twist the belt 90 degrees then it's good.

  8. Ferry from Bergen to Hirtshals, Then driving Hamburg, Hanover, Frankfurt and down to Besel. Plan tå set off around 1st August.
  9. Hi all, planing a trip through Danmark and down through Germany. Would be good to Get the car tuned and Get the adjustabe cam wheels timing checked, she’s still running a bit rough. Can enyone recomend a good workshop or someone who can do the job ? Stephen 1988 carb turbo
  10. Thanks for the reply, I’ve installed braided , the problem wasjust a sticking caliper piston, got a mate to help me today to pump it in and out a few times and now it’s as good as new, I just need to use it a bit more.
  11. Right hand side (lhd car) brakes not releasing, swapped caliper, checked piston, bled system? Why ?
  12. Mine is 125mm long, maybe this is the cause of all the trouble ?
  13. Tried to move slave cylinder but not able to unless bleed nipple undone, wasn't expecting it to move to be honest. Installed new exhaust and started her up and gear-shifts and clutch seem fine, so leaving it set with no threads showing on the slave adjuster. I did have one thought though, the clutch had been changed before I bought the car and I've had the engine out and gearbox off so all looks good to me, new thrust bearing and slave etc, but looking at the slave cylinder rod it looks new and shiny, this did not come with the new slave cylinder,it was on the car when I bought it, maybe it's not correct for the car, does anybody now how long it should be ? Hi Chillidoggy, no it does not, it seems to be under pressure, I did notice the thrust bearing that burnt out was about 5mm thicker than the OEM one from Sjsortscars, but I still cant figure out why it's starting to operate the clutch if I set the slave cylinder screw according to the Service notes. I haven't started the engine yet to see how it performs.

Checked everything, I have a few mm play in the pedal, it's connected into to top hole C , but if I have the slave cylinder adjuster set according to the service notes then the thrust bearing is hard against the clutch plate springs. I've set it so I can just turn the slave rod with my fingers. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for the reply's
  17. Hi all, I'm still a bit confused about this, I've had issues with my clutch in respect to burning out the thrust bearing after 500km. The clutch seemed to be slipping very slightly when I bought the car. I replaced the slave cylinder and tried with the adjuster nut 12 turns etc but there is no play between rod and arm, in fact it's under a lot of tension. my clutch pedal measures about 200mm to the floor and it's hard up against the stop on the pedal box, I did notice another hole slightly lower on the pedal, which hole should I use ? 88 Turbo
  18. It's not the exhaust I'm worried about, it's the turbo, but I guess they are designed to take high temperatures . It would mean idling the engine a bit longer before shutting it down.
  19. Just to divers a little, has anyone installed a thermal blanket turbo jacket ?
  20. I never liked the big wrap-around wing, it looks like a pram handle !! I've always liked to keep them original but I have to admit I swapped the SE one for the S4 high mounted and found the combination of this and the glass cooled the car too much.
  21. Thanks Filip, The thick brown and white wires are ok, it was the thin black ones I needed to check, if they can go on both 85 and 86 pins then I'm OK.

  23. I would still like to check those connections on the AUX and IGN relays if someone has the cover off . Terminal connection for the Black and white wires on the IGN relay and the Black and yellow connections on the AUX relay, they're marked 85 and 86.
  24. Yep, feel like a right twat, been swapping relays when fans stopped working, put them back the way they were and ,,,,, darkness :-) thanks Travis. I would still like to check those connections on the AUX and IGN relays if someone has the cover off . Steve
