  1. OK Bibs, I will hold onto it until you hear back from Lotus
  2. Having a bit of a garage clear out and I came across this Lotus EMM Engine Management & Fuel Injection Manual for the V8 @Bibs can this uploaded for forum members to use ? If not its free for any paid up TLF member. Otherwise I will put it on the classifieds for £25.00 (so a good incentive to join TLF as a paid up member ) Dragan
  3. Thanks @Bibs for all your efforts, and I totally agree with @Sparky My Gold membership costs have been paid back many, many times over with all the support and knowledge provided on this forum in helping to keep my cars on the road.
  4. @skiing I like the sound of your idea. how does it look ? Someone did suggest going to a breakers yard and getting a ridged roof liner off an another car and cutting it down and doing the same as you, and just wedge it in place.
  5. Thanks everyone for the advice. I am surprised that the Head liner was glued directly onto the fibre glass of the roof. I will look into the foam option or use a board and cover that and place that back. Any idea on how to remove the pillar posts and rails, do I just pull them away, will I need new replacement clips ?
  6. Hi All The headlining on my S3 is very good condition, i.e. no rips, or staining but it sagging somewhat. Any tips on removing it. What comes off first, sticking it down, what's the best glue to use etc Thanks in advance
  7. At the auction price the S4 its worth a punt.....but not at that dealer mark up price, too much against it. Just wondered why these eBay listing aren't pulling through in general.
  8. I have noticed a few Esprits listed on eBay over the last couple of months, haven't been pulling through into this section. Not too sure why @Bibs . A couple of nice S3, a copper N/A which I believe was a ex-TLF members car , a white S3 HC and a Turbo S ... Currently we have an accident damaged S3 - Not too sure how you get that sort of damage to the front ? and a rather odd looking colour coded S4 ! https://www.eb
  9. Hi @thebartman "Car has done approx 700 miles since top-end rebuild, had it's 500 mile check " I assume this is all recent work time wise ? If so push it back to the Lotus service centre and see what they say D
  10. Hi John Yep its "Pacific Blue", as per my 1995 S4 Romano Artioli owned Bugatti at the time and brought into Lotus in 1993 odd, hence the link maybe by a previous owner trying to upmarket the car, when they were selling it ? Looking to forward to following the rebuild :)
  11. @Sparky " nothing really" that's an understatement...What a buzz you must have had, wow ! I hope put your name on a post it note and shoved it under the drivers seat for future generations to find
  12. Hi @benja-p There is new one on eBay from Bell & Covill, but out of a V8
  13. Thanks Jim There seems to be some "pink" residue around the one of the hoses, so the blue stuff will be going in. Just noticed a few drops coming from the bottom of the car while I was under it. I think a hose at the front, bottom end of the engine must have a leak. Looks like its PITA to try and remove the cover and investigate, as I only have a jack and axle stands
  14. Thanks John Not worried waterless stuff, looking for some Esprit tips. Someone mentioned to jack the back of the car up and slowly fill it up to avoid air locks. What do owners use, the blue or pink colour coolant etc..
  15. I have noticed the header tank on the HC is looking a bit porous, so I am to replace it with a new ally one from SJ (unless someone has one sitting around in their garage and wants to sell it) I thought I should flush out the system at the same time, as the water is looking rather brown . Any tips, do I use an agent or just flush it thought with a hose and water. What's the best way, just remove one of the hoses from the rad at the front and put the hose on the header tank and let the water run through. Thanks in advance
  16. Lovely S4s....a better call than a V8. Plus its ex forum's member car, which makes all the difference. With my S4 the last 4 owners were all on this wonderful forum. The Gold membership is worth every penny and more 👍
  17. Love these type of adverts. Poor photos (christ, they haven't even closed the back of the car) and a few one liners, that's where you get the bargains. Just brought a cheap 2012 Kia Picanto as a run about. One picture of the car at dusk in he advert. Turned up to see the car and the seller didn't even state in the advert about the main dealer FSH service history, four brand new tyres and a full service, all done in the last 100 miles and he wondered why no one called. In fact when I purchased the HC same thing. No mention of the full C service just completed, brand new rear suspensio
  18. Just had some Falkens fitted to the HC on Friday. Ziex ZE310 Ecorun 195/60R15 88V and 225/60R15 96W and I am well happy with them. £300 all in fitted and balanced from Pro-tyre To be honest I would have thought any tyres made now, will be better than the originals from the period. Especially in my case as the old NCTs were from 1991 and were hard as rocks
  19. I think they have had the car for quite a while....I seem to remember it being painted in the Lotus Gold Leaf F1 colours, i.e., bottom half white, with a gold strip/wheels. But its looks that sales of the unique colour scheme pitch didn't work, hence the full red paint job. Yep the same car....but they have increased the price by £3k !
  20. @NigelM I never used the GT23, I think that is for more newer leather. But if you give them a call they can confirm that. I found them very approachable and helpful. I recall there are some you tube vids around using their products. Give it a go, its a rewarding job to do Fabien's looks great 👍
  21. Hi @NigelM Both the Gliptone and Furniture clinic products are designed to watered down, so goes a long way. When I first started on the HC i brought a craft type model sprayer and a bottle of compressed gas and applied that way. But I got tied of this slow process. Its OK for small localised repairs etc. So I just applied by hand, watered down and dried it off after each application with a hairdryer, takes about 2 mins to dry this way and just layer it on. The final finish is a lacquer applied by a can ( my was Satin) 3 cans to do a whole leather interior on my Esprit in
  22. I applied Gliptone dye using a sponge /cloth, the clear sealer is available in rattle cans, Matt/Stain/Gloss for that final finish. So need for a compressor as such. But a hair dyer is a must when applying the products between coats to speed up the drying process.
  23. Hi @viz139 Just wondering what you think of your new tyre choice ?
  24. Hi Nigel The balm may do the trick for you, the hard part will be the scrubbing and cleaning of the leather before applying the balm. If you feel it wants a refresh colour wise then try Gliptone If you send them a leather sample they will match it for you. The leather in my HC was dry as a bone when I got the car and after a couple weekends I was well pleased with the end results on the seats, door and dash. I found Gliptone products better than furniture clinic
  25. !5th July at lunchtime heading south through Epping High Street, Essex A light metallic blue Wedge turbo A reg - looked it has just come out of long term storage, as the lacquer was peeling off the bonnet and it smelt like it need a bit of tune up.....but it put a big smile on the kids (and my face)
