  1. Good to hear the car passed its MOT @Sparky and yes @Chillidoggy brake conversion, is the best bang for your buck that any S4/S4s/early GT3 owner can get.....It totally transforms the car into something even better than when it left the factory 👍
  2. Beautiful HC, just popped up on Autotrader. Strong money, but in top condition with some big bucks being recently spent on the car.....
  3. Not sure if this has been posted here before, but an interesting insight into the early days of the Esprit design
  4. The S2 drove like a dream from @Sparky, until in the fast lane of the M25 just pass J24 it started to splatter. I thought hold on the fuel is running out, but the gauge was registering some in there. Then it got worse, and one brown trouser moment later I managed to get to over onto the slip road of the J25. Due to where the car was positioned the RAC insisted that the car was picked up. Needless to say there was lots of man hugs all round when Sparky clicked the lead back into place. The joys of classic car motoring and owning a Lotus Esprit ....I honestly love every single minute of it roll on the next adventure
  5. Thanks @chipp a local recommendation is always the best and it looks great too. I will give them a call to see if the main menu is available for lunch (x6)
  6. Booked a combined factory and Heritage tour for 10th May in the afternoon and I was wondering if anyone @Bibs can recommend a nice car friendly pub in the area (or on the way to the factory from Essex) to get a bite to eat beforehand.
  7. Hi @peteyg I have these fitted to the S2, performance wise they are very good, but like you said choice is getting limited and these do look modern rather than period. The issue is getting matching rears and fronts, what do you have on the rears size/make wise ?
  8. That @sparky scrubs up well.....So use to seeing him in shorts and covered in oil "Happy Birthday"
  9. Hi Jim Thanks for the insight. I will swap over to Esso super unleaded for the Carb cars
  10. Our S2 is very original, even down to the sicker on the fuel cap - "Do not use fuel containing ethanol " We only use super unleaded usually use Tesco momentum 99 (or Shell Vmax) in all the Esprits, but will keep an eye on the information on the pump handle for sure.
  11. Hi @Brian Harvey I had the Falkens Ziex ZE310 Ecorun 195/60R15 88V and 225/60R15 96W to fitted my Wedge HC last year and I am well happy with them, and the profile and look suits the car. Plus only they were only £300 odd at the time, all in fitted and balanced etc from Pro-tyre (who own/import Falken tyres)
  12. Hi @markw996 how are finding the Goodyear tyres as I need some fresh rubber on my S4 and these Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 on my shortlist
  13. Saw this on eBay, interesting project for someone.
  14. Sparky's talents never cease to amaze, painting cam covers, while doing a jig to some 80's throw back music. The passers by were very impressed
  15. @Sparky I see what you meant now about the handbrake cable...lesson learnt Obi wan Given the choice between a high mileage regularly used Lotus, and one that's been in a "private collection" .....the first option all the way. Sparky is on the case now and will make sure the car is right. Rather worrying about being one tooth out. The car had a cambelt change just before I got the car by the previous owners mechanic, that looked after his collection of classic cars !
  16. @Bazza 907 is the owner on the Forum ? Apparently only 6 Glacier blue HC's were made, here is my rather less glamourous surroundings
  17. I did have a chuckle when google ads threw up this on your feed......its must have picked on the "pain and pleasure" thread
  18. OK Bibs, I will hold onto it until you hear back from Lotus
  19. Having a bit of a garage clear out and I came across this Lotus EMM Engine Management & Fuel Injection Manual for the V8 @Bibs can this uploaded for forum members to use ? If not its free for any paid up TLF member. Otherwise I will put it on the classifieds for £25.00 (so a good incentive to join TLF as a paid up member ) Dragan
  20. Thanks @Bibs for all your efforts, and I totally agree with @Sparky My Gold membership costs have been paid back many, many times over with all the support and knowledge provided on this forum in helping to keep my cars on the road.
  21. @skiing I like the sound of your idea. how does it look ? Someone did suggest going to a breakers yard and getting a ridged roof liner off an another car and cutting it down and doing the same as you, and just wedge it in place.
  22. Thanks everyone for the advice. I am surprised that the Head liner was glued directly onto the fibre glass of the roof. I will look into the foam option or use a board and cover that and place that back. Any idea on how to remove the pillar posts and rails, do I just pull them away, will I need new replacement clips ?
  23. Hi All The headlining on my S3 is very good condition, i.e. no rips, or staining but it sagging somewhat. Any tips on removing it. What comes off first, sticking it down, what's the best glue to use etc Thanks in advance
  24. At the auction price the S4 its worth a punt.....but not at that dealer mark up price, too much against it. Just wondered why these eBay listing aren't pulling through in general.
