  1. It's an eighteenth century threshing barn.
  2. If roof views are now a thing, mine is not as swanky as some -
  3. Outdoors last week for the first time since 2018 -
  4. It's an eighteenth century threshing barn. It has space for five or six cars, the contents of a London flat, assorted junk, and a grumpy Norwegian cat. My brother uses the hayloft as a mancave and he and his geeky friends play Dungeons and Dragons there in the summer months. The Lotus was under that old mattress until two days ago.
  5. The car is now running and rolling, so I will get it an MOT, tidy it up a bit, and then decide whether to sell it as a scruffy runner or to keep it and posh it up
  6. I posted an advert on that site, but it hasn't appeared. It seems surprising for a forum such as this not to have a usable cars for sale facility. There's a Facebook Group ostensibly for selling Eclats, Elites, and Excels, but the software doesn't recognise that the Lotus Eclat exists, so you can't list one there either.
  7. I would post an ad in here but the car sales sub-forum does not allow new posts. The car is advertised here -
  8. Or maybe 3500 as a general public starting price, but 3000 for members here.
  9. Now I have changed my mind again! I think that I sholud see if anyone wants this car as a resto project. I suggest £3,000 as is. I shall put an ad up.
  10. I bought a TR7 for cash - no PX. I was then all set to put my Eclat up for sale as a resto project, but today, while collecting a stainless steel exhaust for my Leyland Princess, I saw an Elite partly way through a rebuild, and now I again think that I should hold on to my (currently shonky) Eclat. Decisions, decisions!
  11. But yours goes out for drives. Mine has lurked in a big shed since 2018. Also, I am having bad thoughts about part exchanging the car for a TR7...
  12. The car is still in my barn! It last drove in April 2018. I keep saying that I will get it done up properly, but I keep buying Lancias or BL cars, and have a Fiat 124 in welding jail as well. Maybe next year. I reckon that the car needs an engine rebuild and maybe a refurb of the rear suspension. Then it will need a retrim and paint, and new tyres. Hey ho!
  13. Sleepy eyes! I agree that being obsessive about paint finish is daft, and GTA isn't daft (save insofar as anyone who owns a shed full of assorted shonky vehicles from the 60s to the 90s might be considered daft, which is to say, not at all), but having seen the bonkers blue brush paint on this particular Elite, even I would want to paint it. The interior is groovetastic, and way better than the grey and black tweed interior on my Series Two Eclat, which look like it was assembled by lemurs in an experiment at the University of Stupid (who stopped for a careless smoke half way through).
  14. I have driven this car and it is very fine! Sadly my Eclat has been in a barn as an untouched project for three years now, and each time it gets to the top of the queue I buy another old Italian or BL car and the poor Eclat has to wait again, but I will get there eventually.
  15. UPDATE: Mike Taylor read the email, and rang me.
  16. I emailed them this morning, having forgotten from my last time of contacting them that they don't do email! I will ring them in a bit.
  17. Hi all - I am looking for a 912 engine for an Eclat project. Many thanks.
  18. Hello all If anyone has or knows of a 912 engine that has below 100,000 miles on it and is for sale, please let me know. Many thanks. This is for an Eclat Series Two project.
