  1. thanks for letting me know glad everyone is OK
  2. Hi, Guys, my buddy told me of a crashed esprit on the M20 the other day looked like it has actually hit an Elise. I wondered if it was anyone on here and if everyone was OK
  3. Hi, there do you have any of these left? I would l like a set if you do thanks Christian
  4. I will take that as a no then!
  5. Hi, guys, I am trying to find a digital version of the 1986 lozenge style logo does anyone know if it exists or is available anywhere?
  6. Hi, guys sorry to bother you all with the brake issues I am having but I need more help! so the brakes are all back on all hoses front and rear changed and they are working well. However connecting up the handbrake it now won't move more than a very small amount. it was absolutely fine before. and was working well. Is there anything I should know?
  7. But surely this would benefit fast road driving as well?
  8. So as you can tell by my other posts I am sorting my brakes currently. All hoses changed, pads done etc so which fluid to use Dot 4 which is recomended or Dot 5.1 which has a higher boiling point. Is the difference noticeable.
  9. Foolishly I managed to delete the picture I took of my rear brakes on the car when I dismantled them to be refurbished, I have got them back on but I can't remember the routing of the cables, could someone be kind enough to do me a favor and take a picture of their Bendix rear brake set up so I can see the routing? Cheers Christian
  10. Yes that is pretty rare! what vintage are you? I am 1970 I was 15 when my Esprit was made.
  11. Excellent thanks, I will let you know how it goes. After I have made a rotation tool!
  12. Hi, all I have just had my rear calipers rebuilt by SJ and they have come back looking all shiny however I can't get them back on the car. There is a groove in the middle of the piston and this has to line up with the lug on the pad and they don't, the groove should be in line with the seem on the piston housing.Does anyone know if I can turn the piston to line it up? I have not tried as I don't want to damage them. or do I have to send them back to get them lined up properly? I had set aside this afternoon to do this now looks like I will have to mow the lawn unless any of you ca
  13. agreed if it is original, black with black is super cool just imagine it with the wheels all sorted and silver or gold decals. and expensive love affair! but then arent they all. actually thinking about it where can I find 30K!!
  14. How much would it cost to get this fully back up to scratch? 20k? 40K? you would then have a car with no history and a min of 98k on the clock. Given the values we have in the list this would mean that non HC G turbos with 100k on the clock would have to be worth 30-50K to make this worth while. Whilst i know they are going up i am not sure that this is realistic just yet. Maybe in the next 2 years but it would be more of a gamble and or a love afair than anything else.
  15. The issue is with Esprits woudl seem that the insurance companies don't recognise the market value. I had my 85 turbo valued at 26k earlier this year and they would not accept it and i had to jump though a load of hoops as they only wanted to offer 20K. if i did not have this valuation and somethign happened they would only offer me 20k no where near enough to get a replacement these days. I will certainly be staing on top of them 20 quid seems like a bargin for a diffference of 6k or more My old mans 280sl they are happy to value at over 100k. How do we get the insurance com
  16. That red HC is a huge price for a car in that condition with those miles.pretty much a full restroation, there is quite a lot to do on it to get it back to top spec. will be interested to see if it does sell at that.
  17. and all the businesses in london as well! nightmare. Is there a classic car Lobby?
  18. Shows what I know! its a pretty web site any way! Then a Bond placement may be just the right thing to get the money coming in, worked for Aston
  19. I don't see why they wouldn’t be able to afford or want to do product placement, they are owned by Proton, maybe not the most glamorous but they are not short of a few bob and it would only take one of the board to be a Bond fan. Agreed the emissions thing is going to be a problem, and I can see that could spread, not sure I would want to drive mine in London all that much any way but totally get the point. Maybe the UK could become a classic car haven if they got the legislation right!
  20. My old man has a 69 280 SL bought for 25 and now over 100k in about 5-6 years. When we go out with both cars the Esprit easilly gets as many if not more attention. and as others have said 30K for a propper bond car is nothing a DB4 GT sold at sotherbys for 2.4 million ( as i am sure many of the car nuts on this site will know it was actually a 4GT in the fiirst bond movies not a 5 as the 5 was not ready) If Bond drives a lotus again I put money on our cars going ballistic! I am looking for my next car now perhaps a DB7 i6 or and 850 BMW ( i have a thing about pop up head lights! and

  22. Youu are not wrong Andy, I dont mind it not being right but as you say would be nice for them to be a little less agressive and understanding that there are differences. perhaps they are in such a strong place in the market they dont need to have great customer service. Anyway found a nice company called pertek who can get be the right stuff locally! they may also be able to help with replacing my aircon hoses which is a bonus! Cheers Christain
  23. just had this exchange with SJ! Hi Christian, the hose sent to you is correct! it is the original lotus equipment from the factory! from the photo you have the old hose is wrong! Thanks James Hi James That’s interesting as the one you sent me will not attach to the anti surge value part number BO76L600IF which requires 8mm. Also the hose you have sent me is silicone based which didn’t exist when the car was manufactured, It is a good upgrade I agree, but not original. The car has never had the hoses changed and they are all currently
  24. Sent SJ an image of the difference attached, the tubing was a special fuel specific one called crystalfuel which is good however as well as the internal size being worng the the external size is quite large as well so not sure it will fit 2 widths in the little channel.
