  1. The National Classic Car show in November. Shine courtesy of ValetPro @Greg | ValetPro
  2. It also does a party trick of driving at speed under the lowered barrier at the NEC giving a fright to the passenger who donated to the Sporting bears charity for a ride
  3. Just looking at that last pic - how the heck do you get in the house? Are you really really slim?
  4. I think this is from a 1980s motor show.
  5. Is that a change of Spurs badge for every time the team has actually won something? 😂
  6. The Essex Esprit was driven by Roger Becker whilst the owner was having kittens that he'd re enact a certain car chase 😉
  7. I'd have had you pegged north of 30...
  8. Just back from a great 4 days at the NEC. The Essex was in absolute tip top condition after the ValetPro guys worked their magic on it. If you've ever seen it and thought it looked shiny you should really see it now. Many thanks to all who came over to say hello on the Club Lotus stand, lovely to catch up with so many people. Fabian's cars look brilliant. Just one from me
  9. I'll be there too with the Essex (Club Lotus stand) so please also come and say hello. I won't be cleaning it in advance as it's getting a special going over by the wonderful ValetPro company on the South coast. Many thanks to Greg, @Greg | ValetPro Elliott and the whole team.

I thought you had to apply for historic car status..?

It's on the north side of the north circular so not in the expanded ULEZ zone but as Pete says, it depends on how you get to it..
  12. Paul Matty was selling an S1 not long ago that had 1400 miles on the clock and I think was up for c£42k. I agree with Trevor's comments but you'd need to factor in replacing much of the rubber components and so it's not quite like buying a new car. Inflating the cost of it when it was new gets you to around £45k or so.
  13. Only caught fleeting glance but looked silver and the registration number was something like four numbers followed by RW. Spotted yesterday at c1.30pm. Looked great and not seen it round here before.
  14. Binge watched the whole series on Saturday. Had trouble sleeping 😵
  15. Wow, front cover! Really looking forward to receiving my copy and hope the ol' girl gets a good write up. A huge thank you to @Bibs for fixing it up.
  16. Yes, looks like a great event. Unfortunately it clashed with Goodwood Revival which was a pity.
  17. Today the Club Lotus (Bucks, Berks, and Oxon area) held its annual concourse competition at a big (100+ cars) classic car show. I took the Essex all polished up but didn't win anything (despite being in a class of just two cars..) but 10 minutes later the car show organisers announced the Classic Car of the Show and now I'm chuffed to bits.
  18. Sorry Mark, I was light heartedly referring to the 'Essex' Esprit's that were convert by Jim back in 1980/1
