  1. First thing I did when I got mine was check it worked - it didn't but a bit of grease on the Bowden cable sorted it. Have checked it a few times since but not for a while so this topic is a good prompt... though hopefully I won't need it. I have to run a power cable across the drive to charge my Evora so don't leave it on a battery conditioner but have a Bluetooth Monitor that talks to an app on my phone and tablet so I can see when battery needs a boost when sitting in the lounge . Mine is a CTEK but cheaper versions are available on Amazon .. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-G
  2. You can recharge the battery from inside the car from the Rear Fusebox. Pull either MR1 or MR2, the 30A Main Fuses and connect the charger to the incomer from the battery by inserting a blade same size as the fuse blade to get charger on. (Presume you've tried the cable release for the boot?)
  3. Demon Tweeks sell the Lumenition Power Pack on it's own for about £100 (inc VAT), if Gerald hasn't got one, though he probably has.. Many only sell the whole conversion kit at a lot more that will include bits you don't need. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/lumenition-replacement-module-box-for-optronic-ignition-lumpmaz/
  4. God, I'm an 'old school' Engineer but you're sounding like a proper Luddite. First, let's talk in psi as it provides more precision. In round figures you get 1.5 psi for .1 bar so increments are smaller in psi. 33 psi & 34 psi both display as 2.3 bar, 40 psi & 41 psi both display as 2.8 bar. Using psi, any change in pressure will be obvious sooner than when in bar. ( I also know what a psi is, a bar is where I drink beer - or used to drink beer..) US Tread Law required a system to indicate when pressure had dropped 25% below 'the recommended inflation pressure' so some manu
  5. Go on then ... as a Member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology I'm always interested in a well considered opinion, but have a low tolerance level when it comes to bullshit...
  6. Mine isn't. I checked mine when I first got the car and 3 of them agreed with my tyre pressure gauges, the 4th was so gummed up I couldn't get air in or out. Once replaced it's worked faultlessly for over two years of my ownership. I rely on mine when driving, for confirmation of correct pressure and that I haven't got a puncture .. if I had I'd be putting air in before it got soft enough to overheat and damage the structure. I'm wondering if you've experienced the 'cheap Chinese' variety ...
  7. I'm in the Suffolk countryside, some miles from the exchange but 'have fibre'... My BT package provides phone, broadband and BTSport channels for around £75 / £80 per month, varies depending on phone use.
  8. I deliberately ignored what I consider a stupid idea .. I ignored the lower prices as they are not what Lotus supplied so no guarantee they will work .. if they are GM and have 13227143 moulded on them they are EXACTLY what Lotus supply so will certainly work.... eventually.
  9. Yes, you didn't fit sensors. I bought my Launch Edition with a valve & sensor gummed up by previous owner using the can of goo such that I couldn't check pressure or put air in. Easy solution was Lotus Dealer, the Part No for Evora LE is B121G6000F and it cost me £75. Before fitting it I noticed a GM Part No 13227143 on it so did some searching and saw 4 for £120 on ebay which I bought because the other 3 OE are 11 years old, but still going strong. Singly you can get them for around £40..https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Saab-93-9-3-2003-2012-TPMS-Tyre-Pressure-Monitoring-
  10. Cheers .. I'd seen that link and tried typing it from my tablet without success. Tried 10 with uppercase 'OFF' and lower case 'off' but 'Copy and Paste' the bit from your link worked... bloody strange these compooters ...
  11. Is there a standard Discount Code that Full Members can use? Would like a new driver's side floor mat for my LE Evora and see there's a set in the shop.
  12. It's a couple of years since I was last there ... so going to need postcode or map. Seem to remember going into Finchingfield and out towards Sampford / Thaxted ... but not much else....
  13. Thanks for the warning. I'll take a look at mine with some paint ready. I have an oil change to do soon anyway. My Subaru Forester developed a hole in the sump on the bowl near the drain plug due to rust but was all hidden behind a plastic undertray with an access flap to get to the drain plug. Oil came out onto the undertray and lost without any noticeable warning. Engine rebuild is still a job in progress ...!!! The new sump came nicely painted except that bowl! Looks like it's turned over before the paint is fully dry and sits on that bowl. An engine placed on the sump is also l
