  1. Yeh, this is one of those cars where you'd probably be safer just saving a bit more money and waiting for a more original one.
  2. The mud guar bolts often rust away and you the metal they fix onto just breaks away. I wonder if they've glued the mudflap back in place and are using the blocks to keep it in place until it goes off?
  3. Oh dear. That is certainly not std. There is an emergency boot release under rear seats if battery is flat or key fob faulty but putting a button in is a little bit sketchy. I mean it is a good idea which lotus should have done but perhaps in a less janky fashion.
  4. Good question??? Looks like an aftermarket lock like those fitted to vans 😂.
  5. I think if you have a newer Evora 410 etc and bought it to have the latest Lotus an Emira may make sense as it will be in many ways a better Evora in terms of proper handling sports car but with more refinement and up to date styling. If you're in an Na or an S I think the difference in price, speed and looks will be a bigger adjustment. I've heard a few of existing older Lotus owners talking about getting the Merc engines Emira as it offers the most usable alternative Lotus experience to that of an Elise/Exige or classic. I'd have to drive an Emira before I considered swapping. I love how the Evora drives and even a 570s I drove made me appreciate what it does more.
  6. The more time goes by the more impressed I am that I seem to be on my original clutch after 60k miles and I don't see it having any issues.
  7. Hill starts and reversing up a hill would be a killer I expect
  8. Went direct to the Sytner website link in the ad on auto trader. All the packs too so might be an LE?
  9. The one from Sytner BMW sounds like an absolute steal! 9k miles, new clutch, oyster and storm titanium with an upgraded head unit for 30k. Can't think of any better way of spending £30k!
  10. And mine. Always been listed as S but correct taxing brackets.
  11. Made me laugh, I'm not sure it's the metaphor I'd have reached for
  12. https://www.instagram.com/p/CdlQ0nuIL9n/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Looks like this one is coming back on the market. Looks in good condition although no mats inside probably means they are drying after it's been cleaned. It'll be interesting to see what it gets listed for. Dealership doesn't seem to be a Lotus expert as I believe they might have got the engine size listed incorrectly until someone corrected them. I've done my pendant piece and informed them it's unlikely to be an S.
  13. Apart from all those people wanting a 2+2 of course with the Evora's class leading rear seats!
  14. Totally agree, that they serve a purpose. We sold an Evoque through them pre pandemic for a better price than I could have got privately and I guess the service differs from different staff members as the guy we had claimed we needed a front end respray despite it being pretty much unmarked. These days car wow and a couple of other platforms offer dealers the chance to bid which I think would probably give a more competetive offer. Another 200 miles done in mid Wales around some of the best roads in the UK in the Evora certainly doesn't make me want to part with it 😊.
  15. I put the details into the Emira configurator for a part ex value and lotus offered £26k. Not sure bow accurate that would be but not bad for a part ex value. Think the last time I did WBAC it was £22k? They value our Evoque about 10k less than dealers are selling similar models for and that's before you allow them to tear your car to shreds in person.
  16. Thanks for the replies everyone, glad I'm not miles off the mark. Totally agree with all of the advice re signposting potential costs to a friend and anyone in the market for an Evora has usually done their homework. To put this car back to stock would take a very small amount as its basically removing the vinyl wrap, taking the letters off and glueing the originals back on. Gear knob can be changed simply but if replace it for a new old stock item if possible as the original is not as nice as I'd like. I'd highly recommend avoiding the original non sports exhaust as it's very heavy and very quiet. Lotus sports exhaust would be better for OEM look but doesn't give the option of quieter running like the 2bular one. Also as 2bular do custom lotus exhausts I don't think it's seen the same way as say going to a longlife and having a fabricated version. I'm going to make my decision in the next 6-8weeks so we'll see how things go. Cheers again Jon
  17. Hi, I'm looking for a bit of pricing help. I've had my Evora LE for nearly 7 years now and am considering selling in the next couple of months to fund a buy to let which is both boring and very sad but time to be sensible. I'm looking at other options too so if I can avoid it I will. Car has been used like it should be so just about to hit 60k. 2009 +2 with all the packs and a 2buluar valved exhaust which transforms the car but also allows motorway cruising. I've serviced it with a local Lotus specialist for the whole time I've had it and prior to that it was looked after by Stratton motor company. It was one of the original demo cars used by Lotus staff and I'm going to get the cerfiticate of provenance in the next few weeks as I've wanted one for ages. Car is storm titanium with Oyster interior, gloss black forged alloys and the sport racer treatment with vinyl wrap on the roof, mirrors, splitter and under the doors. Paintwork is in good condition but has a few stone ships and one scratch of note on the rear three quarters. Seats are in good condition too and have had some scuff master treatment to the bolsters prior to me buying the car. Drivers seat has become a little baggy as is typical for the age. I also replaced the bollock shifter for the later stainless one with the shift pattern. I've retained all the parts I've changed (took evora badge off as the assymetry annoyed me and also put black Lotus badging on the rear) I have re-covered the instrument binnacle leather but air bag and dash have the standard lifting and its never bothered me to be honest as I'm looking out do the window when I'm driving. Window trims need replacing as the rubber has perished but the car is garaged so this doesn't really bother me either as I drive it in the dry where possible. Mechanically car is great, everything works, new wishbones last year, brakes are good with plenty of life, tyres Michelin ps4's all with plenty of tread. It is on it's original clutch but I see no signs of problems so and although there is much talk on the forums of the clutches of these cars but to mine feels the same as it always has and I've done 30k in the car. A lot of that was motorway miles so I guess that helps. Pricing of Evora's seems to be on the rise but also varies a lot and one of my friends has asked for first refusal. My gut is £29,500 ish based on mileage and good but not immaculate condtion. A few months ago if have said 27k, based on a mate selling his white +0 for that sort of amount with the same mileage last summer. Does that seem reasonable, am I low, or optimistic? Appreciate this is a long post but I wanted to be as full as possible with the description. I drove three cars before I bought this one and every one was different especially in the gear change but this was my favourite. Thanks in advance for any responses. Hope I don't sell and and raise the cash another way but it's my turn to compromise and I also have an Elite which I'm restoring so I'm certainly still embedded in the brand.
  18. I've taken to doing the same in my Elite now too. I sit very far forward so I don't think the runners will ever rust on my cars, slide back and forward to get in and out everyday.
  19. I thought LE had to have the badge to be an LE. It's a full spec car with all the packs from 2009 so it's the same as an LE although I believe it has a short ratio gearbox which I read that LE's don't have. Happy to call it an LE just didn't want to make a claim that wasn't technically correct. I can provide any numbers for the car if this helps with the sequence?
  20. AU09CYV is my car and was covered off a few pages ago. Not an LE so I think it's the Stratton motor company demo as listed on the previous page. I bought it from those guys and I think they said they originally sold it. The level of detective work on this post is mega, remind me never to cross you guys 😂
  21. It is a little although looks worse as I've just been conditioning the leather so it is ultra shiny. I'm getting the Elite retrimmed completely so might look at getting the evora done again in a higher quality leather than the standard stuff which was always a little on the anaemic side.
  22. Great, thank you Phil. Think it's aged pretty well! Wheels now black instead of anthracite and I've given it the sport racer look along with black rear light surrounds and a 2bular valved exhaust. Inside just the gear knob change. Do development cars pre date LE then?
  23. Hello, I came to this forum trying to figure out if my car is an LE. Then I saw this picture of it. AU09CYV is mine and I have owned it for 6.5 years. It has all the packs and the Evora badge on the dash yet no sign of an LE badge. This confused me as I don't understand how you could buy a car at launch with all the packs and not have an LE? I was going to do a certificate of provenance to find out but then bought an old type 83 elite which I'd rather know a bit more about first.
  24. If it's the car I know it's the test mule for the 400 in a evora s body. Real deal underneath bought from Lotus
  25. To be honest, I find the grip levels fine and I am towards the end of my current tyres life, it's the way the water always lands in your boot when you open it, or on your sills and the fact it loves to steam up. Might just be me. Sadly I don't have heated seats, I couldn't find one with them fitted when I was looking to buy, so its thermal underwear for me! I'll definitely try and get along to a future meeting.
