  1. My rear parking sensors also gave up the ghost recently. After swapping a couple of the sensors I figured it had to be the wiring or the ECU, so I took a punt on a secondhand Cobra ECU from a Seat Leon mk2 from eBay for £20.

Luckily for me, it’s a perfect substitute and sorted out the problem The sensors sound a little quieter than the original ones, but as they’re substantially cheaper than ones from Lotus I can live with it.

  2. I had this happen three or four times in the first couple of years of ownership. Since I had the transmission control software updated three years ago, it hasn’t happened at all.

it may be a coincidence of course, but the newer software certainly seemed a step up from the original.

  3. Just got my car back from the garage to have a scratch reprayed,  and I noticed that bottom of the rear bumper is kinked n right next to the diffuser, just where the mounting  bracket is.

I never noticed it before (but that doesn't necessarily mean anything other than I am very unobservant)

There is no paintwork damage at all and there are no marks on the diffuser either so I'm positive I haven't reversed into anything.

Any ideas what might be causing this,  could the mounting bracket be bent or rusted through or something?
