  1. Just been contacted by Lotus and they tell me there will Hethel/more local options to viewing the car coming soon for those of us in Norfolk who can't get over to the other places. So I'll hold off for now.

  3. So I put a deposit down the day after launch, but given the roadshows are a days drive away from Norfolk and all mid working week there is no way I can go see them it seems unfortunately. So I'm not going to spend 76K on a car I've never seen and given there won't be any cars about until Spring next year there seems no point in Lotus keeping my money. Anyone know the process of getting it back?
  4. Pretty sure the Emira will not have this as Lotus are a low volume manufacturer.
  5. I imagine they probably know where they roughly sit in the pecking order. I suspect Silverstone will be next
  6. go try a 400 IPS and see if you like it. It will be the same for the Emira . I tried one but autos/DCT just didn’t do anything for me. The manual is nice on the whole (had a 410 Evora). IPS shifted quick enough and was responsive . Not bad at all really but not for me.
  7. I think you all missing the point of my post , it’s not about making the V6 more powerful as clearly it’s not too difficult. It’s about finding a gear box that can handle more torque.
  8. So Radcliffe have just released info on their 600hp Evora/exige based car. It seems they’ve got the V6 with relative ease to the figure. Given there will be many Emira’s sold to our friends in the US and those guys love to tinker and make high hp, it will be interesting if someone there makes a solution for the gearbox or manages to find something else that could work with those numbers. Before everyone bangs on about 400hp being enough on the road I don’t disagree, but as a previous Evora owner I wanted the Emira to move the game on with the engine/gearbox and they didn’t which is by far the most disappointing aspect for me personally as given the extra weight it feels a bit of a step back . Be nice if we can at least keep up the family SUV EV cars…
  9. I’d say the supercharged V6 is exactly like a NA in terms of delivery. Shame the limiter wasn’t at 8.5k. I was constantly was bouncing off the limit on the 410. There will be nothing in them as you say but the i4 could well feel quicker even if it’s not. It would be the V6 manual for me 99% sure.
  10. I have a deposit but might still pull out or delay at least. I don't really want to spend 60-75K on a car thats just a weekend car and I already have an Elise for that which is a keeper for me. Not sure I could daily an Emira in winter . I tried in the Evora for a while, but it just doesn't feel up the task with dodgy boot release (and small volume/shape), water ingress in windows etc. Also I really do need a 2+2 for the occasional kid run. I definitely have concerns about LE quality issues - it just going to happen. Plus I really want to drive one first to see how it compares and ideally the i4 vs V6 as well. Finally I want a colour thats not on the LE cars and don't want/need all the options that come with the LE. Regarding the V6 , having had an S and a 410 there is nothing wrong with it per se. My only real issue is the woeful lack of torque compared to its contemporaries. Even my old Golf Gti 'felt' just as quick as the 410 at legal speeds. I'm currently in a 991 S and it would feel a real step down in this department. Also the drivetrain is a bit agricultural at low speeds and very occasionally notchy. Just need to sit and drive in one to see if it wins me over.
  11. Do these laws apply to low manufacturing numbers though?
  12. Well my ‘high end’ Mac can get so hot I think it’s going to burn!
  13. The i4 will definitely need more room than the v6 hence the bulk head moving into the cabin space relative to Evora. Also the i4 box is heavier than the v6 box so the overall weight difference is not much I believe.

I think thats wishful thinking on the LE. Perhaps later down the road they might up it to GT430 level but thats hardly much difference.

Who told you that? Don’t think the box can handler much more torque reliably. Evora in GT430 is only marginally more (325vs306). It would be great it was 370 or more.

I’m with you on this point. I was definitely underwhelmed when the Emira was launched. Let’s not kid ourselves here it’s basically an Evora done ‘right’ for mass market appeal. Having had 2x Evora’s I was really hoping there was also going to move the performance game on, as well as the interior/build quality. I expected in reality it was going to be the old V6 but it would of been great to breath more life into it and have a better box that could handle some more torque . I do have deposit but I’m really on the fence as it’s not the ‘last ever ICE car’ I was hoping for. It’s great looking car and the interior is leagues ahead from the 4xx by the look of it. But I can’t see it being much different from a 4xx in terms of driving enjoyment and whilst that’s no bad thing - as it’s got to be one of the best driving GT sports cars full stop - it would of been killer if they have upped the performance (I’m basically talking torque rather than bhp) purely from my personal perspective to differentiate it enough from the Evora’s. Currently I’m not sure it does.
  17. I dunno - can’t see how Lotus can really control a different commercial entity and tell them how to behave. The revenue generated at this stage is just not big enough. Maybe in 5-10 years time but definitely not now. It does make a difference how you are treated from a dealer so I get it, but I think it’s unfair to moan at Lotus directly.
  18. Good job I’m in the Emira forum and not the Evora one then 😀
  19. Get used to it. This little Lotus club is no more, the masses are arriving 😁
  20. All this talk of 360 vs 400 vs more bhp makes me smile somewhat. The difference between 360 and say 430 will just not be discernible on the public road at all. Is the torque figures (and gear ratios) that matter and makes a car fell 'fast' on public roads acceleration wise. There's been zero talk of this.
  21. Not thought about that. Pretty sure switchable is not allowed anymore. The v6 sport exhaust would be tiresome very quickly if thats the case unless it toned down a lot.
  22. Reading across all the forums there’s definitely more people leaning towards the i4 I’d say.
