  1. Wow, that was a while ago. Lots of shorts and sandals in the rain - love it!
  2. Sounds a bit like this story from a few years ago: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/9200054/German-civil-servant-says-he-did-nothing-for-14-years.html
  3. I've been involved in setting up an online xbox one gaming community, Outcast Gaming: Outcast Gaming is an online community for adult gamers of ages 18 years and up who play on Xbox One! Are you interested in socializing with players your age but haven't been able to "weed out" all the adolescent players? Have you been unable to join traditional, time-consuming gaming communities because, being a responsible adult, you have had to juggle your free time with going to college, taking care of children, or being employed in a full time job? In short, are you interested in an online experience where you can just jump straight in and enjoy gaming with friends If so, then Outcast Gaming is the right place for you! Come and have a look if you want to join in http://ocstgaming.clanwebsite.com
  4. He never offers to take me to the flicks any more, humph.
  5. There's a B&B 10 mins walk away in Ryarsh called Heavers House that might be worth a Google but obviously living here we've never had reason to stay in a hotel nearby.

    Vaping

This is the key bit here: No more stinky cigars, and mainly on a Friday night actually means all weekend, or if we're on holiday, or doing something special, or there's something to celebrate, or.....

  8. Thanks Mike, that's the plan (although I've had the week 'off'). Whilst I may not have been bitten by the running bug as such I've seen the benefits in my health and I'm aiming now to work up my pace then start to increase distance and make running part of our weekly routine.
  9. Yes! Thanks for remembering! Pictures to follow but we're all done and feeling very proud! Thankfully the weather was on our side and it wasn't too hot, I think we would've ended up walking the whole thing if it were as hot and sunny as yesterday. Managed to get round in 45 minutes which we were quite pleased with given the uphill walks we ended up doing, they were much steeper than expected! Thanks to everyone that donated so generously so far, it's not too late if you still want to donate a couple of quid to this worthy cause. Jog on cancer!
  10. Yes, it's the big day this Sunday, I know I'm in the minority but I'm just praying for the weather to cool down. As much as I'd like to make some kind of witty remark about him holding me back or something I just can't. 9 weeks ago I'd never have imagined we'd come this far, our first run consisted of 8 x 1 minute runs with 1 minute of walking in between and I thought I was going to die at the end of it! Now we're running 30-40 minutes, 3 times a week and increasing our speed/distance every time. Bibs has literally done every step with me and kept me motivated the whole way through. I'm well aware that 5k isn't the longest distance ever run but it's been a huge challenge for us and I'm really proud of us both for getting this far and for the money raised so far.
  11. Thank-you very much David and the Thwaites family. We have absolutely smashed our target and this is mainly down the generosity of TLF members, thanks to everyone that has donated so far and there's a month left for anyone who hasn't yet!
  12. I used to have a similar problem with the clutch getting caught under the carpet so would just be revving the engine instead of pulling away
  13. On target at the moment thanks, we're on week 4 of the couch to 5k programme so should be finishing just in time for the Race For Life. Got myself some fancy new trainers last night that made it a bit easier too
  14. Thank-you Glyn and Mike, your donations are very much appreciated
  15. Thanks Neil and Dave & Ann for your kind donations and best wishes
  16. Thank you Dan and Alan
  17. Happy birthday gorgeous
  18. Bring your form along, if anyone doesn't show up we can squeeze you in
  19. Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Yes, I've got an old iPhone. The noises aren't too annoying, just the first thing I always do with new apps! I did see the wifi only setting, again it would be good if the settings were remembered each time the app is used. Hope you don't think I'm being critical, it's a great app just nice to be able to give feedback directly to someone involved in the development.
  20. I'm LauraLotus, I don't have a huge data allowance on my phone, I assume this app will eat it up when streaming video? I can't find a setting to turn the sound off, even though my phone is turned to silent it's blipping an playing music is the globe screen. Great app though, really like the idea
