    Summer Ball 2008

Hence why it's now called the 'Bond Bash' rather than the 'Summer Ball' smart arse

    Summer Ball 2008

Yup, 18th Oct 2008 We have a meeting with the venue in a few weeks time to iron out some of the finer details and should be able to start posting up more information after that.... stay tuned folks.
  3. I haven't seen BASEket Ball for ages, I'm going to have to track that down now. A very funny film, although not written by them it does of course star Trey Parker & Matt Stone (South Park & Team America) and some familiar sounding voices.
  4. I couldn't disagree more! Is nothing sacred any more. First Paddington Bear eating Marmite, now a children's Christmas classic reduced to an argument over a can of pop!
  5. Over on the 'other' forum the top poster has 15,027 posts. When I say 'top' most I mean the guy that bores us the most and feels the need to tell every little detail of his insignificant life! Quality over quantity every time. A pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes.

    Xmas Trees

We'll be going for a fake this year... if we can ever find one! Last year someone decided to leave it to the very last minute to buy a tree and we ended up without one as we couldn't find a decent one left. This year I am determined to have a tree, I bought a nice one for my work last week so we decide to get the same one for home, easy... Go to Homebase on Sunday, sold out but getting more in a couple of days. Go back to Homebase again yesterday but they didn't get any more of the one we wanted. Go to B&Q they have a grand selection of 2 overpriced manky trees. Go to another Homebas
  7. You've probably already found this out from the Guiness World Records site but you can send a text message to 66000 to find out about records set. You have to text GWR plus your question to 66000, "and your question will be answered in minutes by a Texpert
  8. You guys realise I catch up with the forum on my lunch break and posted that just to put my off my food didn't you! Hope you feel better soon Alex.

Troy, You're no doubt right, like I said it's all about the owners rather than the breed. That's just the advice that was given t us but we were looking at a bitch (which are apparently less well tempered) that was a year or two old. Growing up my family had a mongrel (best dog ever), a Cavalier King Charles & a Cocker Spaniel (having two dogs a the same time almost made them one proper dog) and a Rottweiler. I'd love to get another dog but Bibs keeps making lame excuses about it eating the cats or something.

I've never had any experience with Dalmatians personally but when I was younger we went to the local home for a dog and they strongly advised against one with a young family. Apparently they can be very nervous, excitable and quite snappy- not good when you've got a young child. Having said that, of course, every dog is a reflection of their owner & how they are raised and treated.
  11. Hmmm, according to that news link.. But I guess a man in your position would know better
  12. Blimey, all that worry & you got one quicker than if you were renewing an existing one! When are you crossing the Atlantic then?

Are you trying to say us gals are tight!?! I can't remember the last time I went out with just girls but I've never been in the type of situation where we're all working out the exact amounts. It's just a case of rounding up your share to the closest note & not worrying about the change.
  14. Keep hold of the car for a hundred years and you never know how much it'll be worth...

That I like, I've done it once or twice. Left a few pence to show that I didn't just forget the tip I just thought they were rubbish. I think that sometimes says more than not tipping.

I don't think it's a case of being tight. I'm sure most people would agree that they are happy to pay that bit extra when the service is that bit extra special. Don't get me wrong, I earn enough to pay my bills & live comfortably enough but no matter how hard I work I don't get an extra few quid around Christmas. Also, if I don't do well in my job I get the sack I don't still expect to be tipped. I used to deliver Chinese take-away to earn a bit of extra cash on top on my day job. I used to get paid
  17. Sorry, I didn't notice the registration date bit. I stand corrected.
  18. I've just been looking at the Cost of vehicle tax (clicky) as I'm dismayed that it's going to cost me
  19. Top result brings up Bibbo's 'other' forum and reference to my fantasy football team. It seems I am also a journalist for icBerkshire & a student in Oxford. With a surname like Cholerton I thought I was quite unique, to be honest I'm quite disapointed there's so many of us, especially other Laura Cholertons I'm sure I've googled myself before & there's a 4th one in America somewhere.
  20. I don't think there's too much to worry about. That petition is over 2 & 1/2 year old (I signed it anyway) and I can't find anything anywhere relating to any kind of opposing petition or campaign to close down the track. The only action I can find is back in Jan 05 when the noise notice was issued.
  21. Do you really want to know Howard... some things are just left unspoken about
  22. Good old wiki has some interesting points on midlife crisis Individuals experiencing a mid-life crisis are said to have some of these feelings: * search of an undefined dream or goal * a deep sense of remorse for goals not accomplished * desire to achieve a feeling of youthfulness * need to spend more time alone or with certain peers They are said to exhibit some of these behaviors: * abuse of alcohol * conspicuous consumption -- acquisition of unusual or expensive items such as clothing, sports cars, jewelery, gadgets, tattoos, motorbikes, etc. *
